New CM7 Nightly KANG EVO - EVO 4G General

I have been building CyanogenMod 7 for some time for the supersonic and decided to start releasing them to the public due to the fact that the build bots are on vacation.
Check here for new builds and stuff....
http://canman.konnekerville.com

Thank, I'm downloading it right now. Is there any difference between the last official nightly and the kang?

Running it now. Everything seem good to me. No noticeable changes

Thanks alot man!
Im all updated, tiamat 4.1, v6 super charger script, vipermod, and unvisible tweaks.
Running great as of last night, Ill have to go look to see what my charge is at, I went to sleep and it was in the early 40's, my phone sits idle quite often and some days might just be txting. If I can last 3 days, with all my txting and about 3-8 hours of talk time each charge(or partial).
All I am waiting for now is CM9 and ill be the happiest boy in the world!

In case you don't know [which you seem to not] that changelog is basically for the new CM9 rom that will be released when its ready. There hasn't been a CM7 release in roughly two months because they started working on ICS.

Not to split hairs here but sir you are wrong. All the changes that are listed are merged with CM7 gingerbread git. In fact look for yourself. Click on the change and read you will find it educational.

Yes, I already know that. So you're saying the rom you posted has the said implemented changes for the 'next' nightly then?

That's fine, and I'm well aware; I was just confused as to what you said, and what you could have 'potentially' meant. I only asked because some people say something and have no idea what they meant; wasn't attacking you or anything/

+1.....I am the same way. Seems nothing is as stable, light and customizable as CM
Shouldnt this go in the developmental area? I only found this as I was looking for newer CM versions

4g and the new cyanogenmod rom

Alright so, I flashed that new nightly of cyanogen.. it states that 4G works.. but when I try and turn it on...
I check it, to turn it on
It says turning on...
Scanning.... for like 2 seconds
Then it says turning off...
And stays off..
Any ideas as to why that is happening?
Sent from my PG06100 using XDA Premium App
Now that I am in a 4G area.. after it says scanning... it shows the connection, like it is connected.. then it just says turning off...

Reboot the rom or reflash w/out wiping data. Have had it happen randomly to me, but it works, I promise. I pulled 8Mbps DOWN the other day.

Alright cool, thanks for the information. Now is it just me or is the 3.5mm headset jack not working? I know that was one of the issues with the other cm build.. but I didn't see anything about it not working in this version?

how did you get the nightly build?
You can look it up on the IRC for evo, posted in the general thread. Also here. This is Toast's build, but it's been pretty good to me so far, although I like Evervolv's theme more. I think Prelude takes toast's cm and add's his own improvements, or at least the kernel.

Toasts kernel is a must-have for wimax support, no sense in trying to restart that whole adventure again when you can ask toastcfh for permission (out of sincerity) and just compile that kernel and include with the packages.
Evervolv is in no way, shape or form CM. Of course preludedrew may opt to turn to the CM guys for help, that's what this community is all about. As I said, though, preludedrews roms are his own creation, not just relabeled cyanogen(mod) builds.

We're officially on the CM list now.
Unofficial nightly thread here - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1001578
It seems like there is a bunch of extra steps to take after installing CM7 in order to get everything working properly... Only reason I'm not exactly interested at this point.

By extra steps you mean rebooting after the first boot? Flash, boot, wait a sec, reboot, done.

IDK maybe I'm wrong but from what I've read you have to do certain little tweaks to get things to work correctly and I don't go through all the little processes to find out I dont like the ROM.
However, I'm probably just making things up in my head...

What most people don't mention...
If your roaming when you setup the phone then you have to turn on National or International Data Roaming, depending on location of course.
MMS is only dirty right now.
When toastcfh posts it officially on here, and I'm sure he will since he's maintaining it, then it'll be a more "hassle-free" experience.
Just don't forget to flash the gapps and freak out when you have no market!

Touchscreen works in ICS now (Alpha rom available)

Looks like PreludeDrew has figured out how to make the touchscreen work on the Evo 4G, for Ice Cream Sandwich, according to his tweet;
"@EndLesEVO Touchscreen works for the Evo 4G on Ice Cream Sandwich."
Just thought I'd pass along the good news. No mention of roms ready just yet, but this looks to be a fantastic step in the right direction.

I'd put 3 to 5 weeks on a guess for when we will see an alpha ICS ROM that is usable. [Usable obviously doesn't mean 100%]

When I say usable I mean able to be a daily driver, with bugs.
Its not quite there yet.
Great work thus far though.

Well alpha 3 is 'technically' usable now. Data, sound, touch screen work. Obvious things, like 4g still broken. Camera doesn't work and the music has issues, but it can be used as you can talk and text, ect.

It may have been done personally to keep it from going off task and starting 'drama'. I'm sure it'll re-open upon their next alpha/beta/update release.
His rom is so close to usable all we need is camera and no reboots
Then we can start throwing in stuff like bottom status bar and toggling ICS soft keys
I'm usig alpha 3 right now
Idk it was closed either

Me neither. I am enjoying it.
I haven't had any reboots, but it runs really slow for me, once thats taken care of I'll give it a test run for a few days of use
Don't forget to turn off vibrate on touch/ keypress in the sound and keyboard settings. Helps a little but still lags.
Hoping they closed the alpha thread because the beta is close.
Aside from the camera and lag, most everything works. Typing this connected to my wifi while listening to Pandora on my bluetooth headphones.

You can also turn on the forced 2D acceleration under developer options in settings. Also turn off the windows animations.
People should just follow preludedrew on Twitter anyway. You get quicker updates that way.

If you had bothered to follow the link you'd have read in the first few lines that the cam is NOT working and no support from them is provided. These all come from building from the same sources as the builds on here anyway. Why should anyone here even try it? :screwy:

That's probably the only difference, this is official. The kangs (usually) add other things they feel are necessary, while this build would be pure cm9 ics
What about the recovery.img at http://android.chemlab.org/snapshots/p4wifi/? is it the same version pershoot released some days ago? If I'm not mistaken, that version had minor problem when reading the storage folder list, right?

I wonder if the android central page was queued for release and they didn't bother to check T4z's thread to see that he removed most of the information and the proceeding ****storm.
