I'm trying to follow the development of ICS roms for the a500.
Other than Thor and what is posted in the XDA DEV forum, are there any others to be followed?
Please post a link the discussion.
Thank You
Without seeing the post, just looking at the title, I was going to chime in what you already know (Thor's and what little is in the dev forum). I am actually clueless to other forums/sites dedicated to A500 development, so I of course am no more help to you. I am also interested though in knowing of other dev efforts outside XDA.
#1 obviously is "TegraOwners ICS v80"

Progress Halted.
Anyone know of another ICS Custom ROM?, Post please. (Many Users want to know)

The purpose of this thread will be to create an ongoing list of available Acer Iconia A500 ROMs and links to download them.
It appears currently that there is no single place where these links are maintained.
The thread would also be useful place to gather information about the respective ROMS, their similarities, stability, purpose.
Additionally, we could keep a link to backups that would allow people to rollback to stock, if their backups fail.
Why don't you try searching, huh? We've already got a thread for this in the dev section. Have had for weeks.
What is the link to the ROM list in the Dev Section?
However, in the interest of not duplicating threads, could you please post the URL that links to the ROM list.
The general tone of comments to people led me to believe that this topic should be outside of the Dev section.
Pardon me, however I did several searches and did not pull out a thread with a list ROMS unfortunately or I would not have created this thread in the first place.
The search I ran: ROMS Acer A500
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1113878
And welcome to XDA!
You don't even need a list of roms. Go to the dev section. The most updated and/or useful roms are always on the first page for any device.
Thank you!

is it possible using the wbaw's TPT to move from gen2 (v7) to gen2 (v10) without going through the box gen1?
yes. why does this need a new thread?
Maybe because the new member cannot post in the Dev section yet

New users just can't create new threads in the dev section, to try to prevent useless spam threads like this. There is already a thread for this.

It's true!
@wbaw
As this is my first message, I take this opportunity to thank you for your help and for all your contributions in the various forums.
Tip: Do not waste your time with little formal details, you do not grow, while many of us have a high opinion of you ...
Thank you again.
KJY2010 posted a nice step by step tutorial along with ALL files necessary to recover from the leaked ICS upgrade if anyone is stuck with no answers.
Thread is in A500 & 501 Tutorial forums at androidtabletgeeks.com
Sorry can't link as a n00b to these forums.

Thank you sir.
There are alot of people in the Dev forum stuck with no one giving clear answers, and being a n00b here, I cannot post in that forum!
Hello,
I have tried the above tutorial a few times and am getting stuck at the step you enter the CPUID. Upon entering my ID it comes back and states CPU ID is bad format. I am not including the 0x and just using my serial number. Any ideas? Thank you.

If you wouldn't have closed your original account KJY2010 you wouldn't be noob here.
ATGadmin aka KJY2010 .
Offcorse you gonna deny this but I know better , already got confirmation on that .
Are you gonna link every post you do to AndroidTabletGeeks ?
I've been on your personal ignore list a while I think , not answering e-mail and skype.
Thanks for that , still got to figure out why but hé if that makes you happy !
Have a good one !
I appreciate that you and MD are trying to get your site off the ground, but why not share the information here and include the link to the OP. The picture guide is probably very useful to people and would benefit everyone to have it in both locations.
This looks like you are trying to poach people away. I know that may not be your intent, but the motives could appear suspect to some.
Also, there is a guide, without pictures, over in the developer section - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1516012

Not our intent at all.
If you check the "time stamps" on both posts (the one I posted at ATG, as well as the one you posted) you'll see that the post at ATG (not the post I made here) was done hours before the post at XDA.
Having just been through the nightmare involved with having to revert from the ICS leak, finding my way back to a rooted ROM, and finding mostly hostile remarks directed at those that couldn't figure it out for themselves over in the DEV forum, we came up with a very clear, concise, and explicit TUT on how to get back to a rooted ROM, complete with ALL files needed to do so over at ATG.
As far as the "appearance of being suspect" goes, that's one of the reasons we started our own "community", and not just a mere forum.
While we literally just launched the site mere days ago, and don't have many members as of yet, those that have joined have already made remarks attesting to this fact. Most if not all of our members are members of several forums, some including XDA. No reason to "poach", as we're just giving people alternatives to finding information about things that we all share the same passion for..."All things Android Tablet Related".
Just wanted to clear up why, and when this post was made.

Exactly, since we already have on XDA those informations http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1516012 , this thread is now closed.
Well since it wont let me post in the dev section.
Has anyone heard any news or done any dev work with the a7+ kernel source?
I really want to get that tab off of 2.2
it looks like dexter_nlb is trying to get some developer help on an ICS build for the A7+, I am in the same boat as you though, it won't let me post in dev forums, or send a PM to dexter yet.
Hello everyone, this is my first post at xda! Anyways, I have an un-rooted HTC Droid Incredible running an un-modded version of Android (2.3.4 stock rom). I am new to rooting and have never done it before but I am good with technology. So my objective is to root it and get the most stable build of ICS onto it with the easiest possible steps. If anyone wants to help out with a step-by-step tutorial that would be great! Thanks
Check out the stickies in each sub forum. Read, read and re-read them. There's a lot of info to absorb and terms to understand. Everyone here is easy going and willing to help. Read and search, you'll be fine.
Knowing is half the battle.

Hi and welcome to the forum. While I appreciate this is your first post, when you signed up you agreed to the rules of the forum and the first and most important is to search before posting as what you need is more than likely already available or been asked before. If your searches are unsuccessful then do go ahead and ask your questions but post in the correct section of the forum, i.e. questions go in the Q&A section. This information is readily available via a search as has been advised already which shows you've not searched before posting. This thread is therefore closed.
Thanks
