To _n0p_ about DSC 0.66b and DSC 0.7b1 - Streak 5 General

I used 0.66b since it released; there is no wifi or reboot issue with Launcher Pro.Now i am testing 0.7b1, it is very stable there is not any issue that i see until now.But the Phoenix_OC kernel is not stable, when i was playing angry birds i see that the DS5 starts to work very slowly.
Thank you for everything.

You can always select best for your kernel here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=21006671&postcount=2007

_n0p_ i have tested all of your kernels, the Olleh one and the Phoenix one seems stable.
There is no wifi issue with 0.7b1 release.

Best New 2.1 Roms (Eris Port)

Which of this is the best for you...
Please specify the reasson...
I started a poll yesterday http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=5793118
I said Villian Rom
Fast, smooth and has everything it needs, and you know that Nathan will keep working on it as well.
Excellent
111mb spare with tonnes of stuff installed (I don't use apps to sd)
I reverted back to 1.5, all of them drain the battery for me. Too much going on in the background.
Also my Google Account kept syncing despite me disabling the sync for it. The UI would lag at times, and sometimes touching the up arrow (open menu) would show the 7 homescreens. Other bugs aswell made it not good enough.
I'm happy to wait a bit longer for a more stable 2.1
I'm on BeHero right now, and OpenGL performance isn't super. I play this game often, called Speedx 3D, and on 1.5, it was really smooth -- about 60fps. In all 2.1 ROMs, whether they were built from source or based on the leak, the game ran noticeably slower, i.e. 25-30fps.
I hope the official release will have it fixed!
BeHero is the best so far.
not fair guys !!
rate my ROM now after the update
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=641786
there is also new rom by lox, i gotta try that one and MaXo's 0.2
So far all of those I have tested have the same problems
No http access from apps
No facebook sync
No GPS in Navigation (works on Maps)
Hese are dealbreakers for me. The first things I test and the first reasons I reflash.
I have tested Villain 3.1 and 3.2 and BeHero.
Now moving on to Raidroid, but I suspect the problems lies in the Eris build rather than the various ROM builds.

Is Cyanogenmod 7.1 stable and smooth?
I am now using Floyo 1.0b, however I have to bear the sluggishness and slowness
Every time I recieve a new call, I have to wait half a minute before I can answer..
Will Cyanogenmod 7.1 be much better? Or is there any smooth roms to recommend?
Relly tired of flashing my x8, I want to make sure before this again...
Thanks!

Sorry, but I just want to clarify.
The rom you are referring to is this, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=973753 , right?

Try GingerDX, fast, smooth, bugless, and packed with lot of features!
Personally I've found cyanogenmod 7.1 has a few very VERY irritating bugs AND is incomplete.
Problems myself and others have had:
In call volume is too low, barely able to hear people in call.
Network issues - after 5-15 minutes of use (e.g. using market place, browsing the web, etc...) the connection whether it's 3G or WiFi simply refuses to load any web content.
Some features incomplete (camera functionality amongst others)
Essentially this rom/kernel combination being labelled as stable must be a mistake, as it is not stable. Generally speaking it isn't useful for day to day use. It is however very speedy.
Noo, it is very slow! All 3D games lag + scrolling is KINDA slow.
FXP rom 028 have normal in call volume. FXP030 and CM71 have bug there.
I`m using 028 rom and CM71 kernel - not have wifi troubles, games works nice. Not using camera and FM radio, so it is not trouble for me that they are not working yet.
But it is stable and fast, not have any FCs, lags or reboots.
Any one has the fxp 28 kernel? please share us.

[REVIEW] Latest MiniCM on top of the nAa kernel

As a senior member and owner of X8 for over a year now, I tried a lots of ROMs... even those in early stage of development. I remember, in April I tried lots of ROMs but I've always and up with nAa's miniCM series.
In the time of Froyo roms - miniCM6 was always the best and updated the most frequently... than dx came with his froyobread, and after, GDX. But, non of those ROMs were smooth as nAa roms was..
Now, miniCM7 takes over again! It's the very best ROM for X8 I've ever tried. Why you ask?
Well, lets start... Frist of all I use my phone a lot, all other roms become laggy after some time, but miniCM7 is as fast as just after reboot. no need for task killers. Also, a little or even no lags at all make this rom just as perfect for daily usage. Performance is great, I couldn't imagine playing all those games without a single lag on my phone... but than - nAa suprised us again...
He made nAa 10 kernel... High performance bacame even higher now. I use my phone just for WiFi and Gaming now, and all I can tell is - BRAVO!
My phone feells like new Xperia Mini... No lags, app startup is really fast, games do not lag... even those for "high-end devices" like Tiki Kart 3D...
Screen cuts.. I use overclock @729Mhz and I don't have any.. Recovery is also fine.
Market - FINALLY! FINALLY Market that works without freezing or crashing, finally Market that actually download what you choose (even if on slow connections) ...Finally Market without LAGS!
Browser could be a little faster, but theres always an alternative on Market, which makes browsing on X8 very best so far. New kernel rocked this part.
What to tell.. I just don't like this ugly ADW ..so I replaced with LPP+ ...nothin more to change, except the theme.... which is very nice but (nAa if you're reading this please notice if it's already blue you should make it all blue like "Volume popups" - which is yellow and it doesn't match with all other stuff.
Conclusion: how better can it be, I didn't found any bug so far... everything works as it should work... Finally!
So, nobodyAtall.... DUDE KEEP IT UP! Focus on improving your already awesome kernel even more!
Regards,
DDI!
Sorry, for this reply.
Not wanted to disrespect anyone.
But please try Trial Xtreme 2 on this rom with nAa kernel 10
No graphics
While this and all the games works fine on nAa kernel 08 b.
Please report this to nAa .
And also i tried CF3D...
No effect.
And i am damn sure that this problem occurs due to only the kernel.
I couldn't agree more, mcm7 on top of nAa-10 is the best that our x8 has gotten so far n btw I play most high end games e.g: dead space with no oc and without cf3d and it doesn't lag at all
As for vinmac try a full wipe that's the first rule when u have such problems
Sent from my E15i using xda
I agree other games works fine and performance is too fast
That is 1.5 times that of 08 b kernel.
But only trial xtreme 2 is troubling
Please try this game and report what happens ???
Hey man,
I tried the free version n it worked just fine, the only problem is that it took about 20secs to load but then it worked fine.
Try reinstalling it or deleting the save files in android folder on ur sdcard.

Looking for stable ICS ROM as daily driver

Hi guys,
I've been a longtime lurker here, and avid Android fan for sometime now every since I purchased my Nexus One. I've used CM and MiUI and all, but now am looking for a stable ICS ROM which can be used as a daily use ROM with ICS.
I'm currently on MiUI 2.3.2 (tried 2.3.9 but it seems to really be very unstable for me) which seems to work fine if not for the random reboots and errors from time to time, not to mention I can't seem to get the SD to mount when the cable's connected to my PC.
Long story short, which ROM would you guys recommend? I'd love to have CM, but since they're not supporting ICS versions for the N1, I'd have to live with others.
(if I'm just repeating earlier threads, please feel free to point me there and perhaps we can close this thread)
Thanks!
TexasIce or MeDroid
Both roms are in an alpha stage but quite stable and good enough as a daily driver for weeks now.
Medroid:
- More "Cyanogen"
- A bit faster and a bit more stable (imho)
TexasIce:
- "vanilla experience"
- Awesome kernel work
Thanks Pommes.
I was leaning towards Medroid myself, but seems like there's some controversy/drama going on there with the dev, and was wondering about the continuity of it.
As I've not blackrose-d my Nexus One, I'd assume that's something I'd have to do first, yeah? I've no need to be bleeding edge in terms of updates, but just would like to have my phone being able to update and not random reboot from performing any number of things.
Samuaz's laptop is dead and zyrex tried to sell the ROM, but Samuaz later posted the link to download it. Mods have locked all of his ICS threads, even the medroid discussion thread I created. The future of that ROm is very dim, but Timbit (and possibly Zyrex) try their best to continue its development here: http://code.google.com/p/nexusone-medroid-ics/downloads/list
dk_zero-cool is a notable developer for the HTC Bravo (Desire) and has made a very good ICS ROM for it. It seems to be based on CM9. He doesn't have a Nexus One to develop on, but since the Desire and Nexus One are practically twins, it shouldn't differ that much.
Texasice is another development god when it comes to bringing ICS for us in his/evervolv team's version. It's not stock ICS or CM9, it's their "remix" of it which looks really nice.
As far as I'm concerned, these are all daily drivers, depending on what you need for a days use of your Nexus One. If you absolutely must have a fully working camera, then none of these ROMs are daily drivers for you. If you accept that there are bugs and that the camera isn't working 100%, then all of these are daily drivers. I personally recommend either texasice's version or dk_zero-cool's version.
I saw dk zero's so smooth and working camera preview now
Sent from my ICS Nexus One
There's also MIUI ICS that's stable enough. Haven't yet flashed camera fix patch recently released upon that rom, but I heard it can fix camera preview too.

Thanks for this feedback, trying to flash dk zero's version now, having to Blackrose my device first which mean I have to flash a non ICS version as I can't USB mount my phone.
Quite an adventure just to have to work around as I had did a full phone wipe and lost my recovery in the process, in addition to MiUI reset wipe which seemed to have hung and I had to remove the batt to get it restarted.
Just set the custom blackrose partitions and hopefully can start flashing dkZero's version with hopefully a working camera preview as you've mentioned!

Thanks for the update, however after all the issues I've had with MiUI the last week or so and then switching from 2.3.2 to 2.3.9 and having to restore back to 2.3.2 as the latter was too messed up on my device, I think I'd rather wait till there's a more advanced RC or stable version before attempting to flash it again.
Not to mention, I'd forgotten why I'd shy-ed away from MiUI in the past, too iPhone-ish of a UI (yeah a change of launcher might help, but I'll give this other ROM a try)
I've been using medroidmod daily - however the microphone isn't working anymore (for the past two days) - so I'm struggling to rebuild it.
I have so far been unable to get Bravo ICS to install. I have blackrose with 16mb cache partition, and m2sd packaged with Bravo is not redirecting it to SD no matter what i do, and 16 is not enough for ICS.
At this point i am tempted to go to CyanogenMod 7.2 - daily struggle with ICS is wearing me out.
DK's is AWESOME....best ICS for N1 and its not close.....super smooth and great battery

Of all the ICS I think texasice rom is good one as its stable but as theshawty mentioned it gives vanilla experience. DK's rom is more inclined to CM9 and its just cool. Got into bootloop initially but after tweaking settings in memory management, I dont get any reboots. Battery is good and rom is smooth. You can try dk IMHO.
If you want something stable, do NOT use ICS. Simple.
Ive used both medroid and bravo, I think medroid 1.4.2 was very stable with alot of customization, I didn't personally have problems with the mic but I know others did, and Ive also used Bravo so far it has been fantastic for me so far, the dev behind it aswell is very responsive and gets things fixed quickly, the only draw back is the lack of customization between bravo and medroid, I just feel like i'm missing 80% of the options and tweeks i'm able to do with bravo.

Well, texasice's ICS and dk's are surprisingly stable.
Medroid 1.44 is smoth and stable. It already includes the last camera fix and a few other updates.
Non-HWA ICS Roms where always stable for me.
On HWA Roms I always had sleep of dead issues(phone freezing a few times a day), but I'm running Medroid 1.4.3(with camera preview fix flashed) now for a few days without problems.
HWA uses a lot of memory, so that could be a problem in the long run.

Well, I was on CM7.1 for what seems like an eternity (used to switch ROMs quite frequently at one point) but figured its time to test drive some ICS stuff and as long as it isn't constantly random rebooting, and crashing. Its stable enough for me!

yeah, trying to get dk's ROM installed on my N1, just having to work through some issues I'm facing which is messing up with the install.
You should use 4ext, then you don't have any install problems.
Bud I had problem s after recover all my apps. Only dalvik and cache wipe has cleard this problems (endless boot without cache wipe?!)
BCM is very smoth but without the stock email app (i need exchange for my job) it is not realy usable. After install it (stok email app, not gmail), i had a huge battery drain. Charge via USB was not possible (whats wrong!!!), battery is discharging...
Then I went back to medroid 1.44. Medroid is not so smoth like BCM (why not???) but with Nova Louncher (not with stock) it runs very well. The best ist ScreenState works realy but you have for both cases set the CPU governor to SMARTASSV2 (or onother stats but whitout ondemand, that is very bad)
BCm is very very smoth, like CM7, but batterie drain on my phone was frightening!
An other problem is wlan, higher than channel 11 seems not to work (i had test channel 12 to 13, channel 9 does not work also, all othed channels are busy)
PS. I have unfortunately not possible to post in the corresponding post.

TexasICE's ICS ROM is the most stable, there is a camera patch floating around. You may flash both of them and enjoy ICS without missing any feature.

screen rotation lag problem with sbazil rom miui v3

when i reboot my phone its ok for 1-2 hours, after lag begin again and i must reboot my phone again.
same problem here . i am using r6 version . i dont remember properly but there was a same problem with some other rom long time back and changing a lib file solved it
its very nice rom.if we can fix this problem it will be perfect.i use r6 too.
this rom is good but i dont think it has amtel fix .
No it doesn't have.

I like this ROM very much but I have issues with Google Maps.
Sometimes when I open maps the phone reboots in 4-5 seconds.
I have tried to wipe maps data, uninstall, reinstall but no use.
I'm using google maps 6.6.0 by the way.
Any ideas?
Maybe that's a kernel issue. :/
i think this is only .35 problem. i use the same rom for .32 kernel, and it seems pretty stable no lags at all, gameloft games working excellent.
just one thing: it scores less in quadrant than other miui roms i used but i cannot see any difference in scrolling etc

Yes, .32 doesn't have any bugs regarding the screen... Anyway, as a general rule, everyone REALLY should keep away from .35 ROMs as the .35 kernel Huawei did is just horrendous. Sure, devs did patch a lot of stuff, but still, it's a patch job.
Either use .35 kernel or 3.0.8 when this one is stable.
I am using .35 and have no problem in rotating screen
me neither using last aurora update 3 and no problems at all
