Are you running any sort of battery saving app?

Go into accounts and sync and see if background data and auto sync is enabled

No battery app and yes background data is enabled. I take it that you guys get a notification right away and with the screen off? If so I will just try and reflash the rom

I have the same issue and i run google voice. No battery savers and background is enabled.
I just my kindle fire and wanted to know how to get SMS on mines as well. I followed the instructions but have no luck.
Also, would I be able to SMS anyone? I know on iMessage with Apple, you can only SMS iphones, ipods, ipads and macs.
Can the Kindle lock screen be customized? I tried using go locker and disabling the stock locker with not much success.

Jellybean tablet version by lithium. It has the quick sound option along with WiFi and brightness. You can also switch between tablet UI and phone UI.

Hi guys,
I wonder how I bring back unrooted bookshelf view to my rooted Kindle Fire?
I rooted it and imposed CM9 Energy rom, and so pleased that I dont want lose this general view, but I only want an app or something else that will bring Amazon's original bookshelf view.
Is it possible?
Go back to gingerbread. Only way I know. A rooted kindle with the Go stuff can switch back and forth.

Why do you want the bookshelf view? The Kindle Fire app is good. Isn't that enough for you?

Does anyone else have trouble when tapping XDA's notifications that pop up...
When I tap on them it opens the XDA app, but it never actually loads the thread or message...
it just stays on the loading circle.
N7 PA with M-kernal
Same problem here with all stock builds (rooted) and now AOKP. Rarely with 4.2.1 it would work. It worked once in a while if I opened the app first then checked the notification but not often enough. I don't get notifications on my HTC One S, so I can't confirm how it reacts on other devices.

Heh that sucks. I hope it gets fixed...

I notice this on my stock nexus 7 non rooted. Don't have the problem on my kindle fire running the otter builds. I did notice that if I logged out and then back in that it would work.
