So last week I went ahead and un-rooted my EVO-4G after being finally being fed up with substandard ROM'z the last rom I was using was CyanogenMod 7 for the HTC Evo 4G :: V7.1.0 (9 Oct 2011) and in my opinion it was just terrible. I know that I'm sounding kinda harsh but my seconded reason for un-rooting my phone was to get my Bluetooth headset to work like it was suppose too. For some reason after I rooted my phone I was never able to get my Bluetooth to work properly maybe someone has an idea as to what I may have done the first time I rooted my phone that would cause my Bluetooth headset to have very poor reception? It works awesome right now after un-rooting my phone and doing all the updates from HTC/Sprint.... At some point I want to root my phone again but only if my Bluetooth wont suffer in quality.... Any ideas???
the new cm7 killed mine and my wifes bluetooth also

Yeah my Bluetooth issues where going on even before I started using CM7, but CM7 left such a bad taste in my mouth that it drove me to just un-root my phone completely....
Rooting your phone has nothing to do with your bluetooth not working. Running unstable roms does. I never had any luck with a cm7 rom where everything worked. You should have tried a stable sense 2.3 rom.

Maybe I should re-word my opening post. CM7 was the last Rom I was on that finally drove me to un-root my phone. I first rooted my phone back in late 2010, I used many great stable ROMs during that time and still my Bluetooth device was not working like it should. I even talked with other users who were running the same ROMs at that time & they said that their Bluetooth device was working great! So I was always thinking in the back of my head that maybe during my rooting process I might have missed a step or didn't save something I was suppose to. But thanks for the info mate!!!

And this is the problem with experimental development builds of certain roms, things will work on some phones but not others.
I have no issues on CM7 or decks with Bluetooth. It connects to my computer, stereo and mono headsets, and my cars stereo. Reception is great (up to 20 or so feet), and the quality is amazing. I have been on CM7 since Nightly 100 or so, and was on decks for the 4 months or so. I also use a wiimote to play emulators, that works too. My bluetooth problem is with the NookColor, but that is to be expected.
No sure were your problems lie, sorry.
I used to chase that rom carrot since, well since old HTC Wm devices but once I found a rom that I liked for my evo and learned my way around android I stopped screwing with my phone and just started using it. The rom I use now is super stable and runs super fast. Everying works and I use visual vioce mail, GPS, blue tooth head set and keyboard regularly. I use a early version of cm7. Maybe I was just lucky but I thought cm7 was the go to rom for flashers.

I can't get my iPad to tether properly with any of the newer 2.1 ROM's. Fresh 2.0d even says it uses the older 1.6 WTFRU .apk but it just doesn't want to pass traffic. The connection comes up every time no problem but data does not flow. Of course it's an iPad so there are no troubleshooting tools. Anyone else seen this and or know how to fix it. Right now it works fine on Fresh 1.1 but not on any of the newer ROM's.....?

Actually, there is a USB port within the dock port. As to whether the iPad supports networking over USB (doubt it) is another mater.
On the mater of WiFi Tethering, I've been unsuccessful is getting it to work at all in 2.1. I suspect we need to wait for an official update. The 2.1 beta for the Nexus doesn't work either.
Seriously?

Hmmm.... It worked for me out of the box (running Regaw 2.0.2 or something).
Heh. I'm on fresh 2.0d and have had no problems wirelessly tethering my iPad. I'm using wireless tether version 1.60 as well. I'm not sure why mine would work and yours doesn't...
What version of wireless tether are you using? Uninstall and try a different version if you can't connect. Download all versions here.

I forget which version the damage ROM had but I tried downgrading to 1.6 and that still did not work. I just restored to Fresh 1.1 and that has 1.6 which works in that ROM but not the other ROM. I've tried swapping ROM's multiple times pretty much the same results. I will try to fiddle with some other versions of WTFRU again and see.
After you connect it to your iPad hold down end button turn Mobile network off and then turn it right back on and it should work I have to do this every time I connect to anything

You need to wait until they jailbreak iPads
O they already have Google it just haven't released it yet they either waiting on 3g version to get released so it isn't patched or for OS 4.0 hay I can wait just gonna b super limited on the lil p.o.s till its released
Hey danknee.....
you should change the sig....something like this:
I just saved a bunch of money on my car insurance by NOT buying an iPad.

i bought the 3g version hehe here its the usb port and the sd card hehe =)
Not picking on anyone, but I thought this was clever:
Uhh once again It can just be jailbroken and then ya can basically do w.e u want
I'm running Damageless 2.1 and I can tether no prob. I'm glad that my iPad fell off of a truck and I got it for hardly anything and I can't wait to sell it and get an Android/Chrome (ie.... real) tablet that is actually useful for what it's made for (browsing the internet) there are tons of sites that I frequent that are flash based and this pos can't display them WTF And don't get me started on videos
I think I might just have to flash a Sense ROM to try it out. I don't get 3G in my apartment for some reason, but Clear's map shows it in full 4G. I don't know if I can go though with it though!

Sense Rom using LauncherPro as your home....what's the issue!?
Edit: <-- you can see my UI there!
Edit: Well, don't know what happened to that post, but Sense still clogs up the ROM, even without using Rosie.
I'd say just nand backup your current love (I'm assuming CM6)
Install a sense Rom for the day (week, whatev')
And on your way home (or just out of the city) Nand restore and you'll have the best of it all. Or you could just nand back up the sense Rom too and switch back and forth while you're there as your needs dictate!

Well I actually live there for the whole school year, so if 4G is as good as it seems then I may have a conflict.
For most things, I don't even notice a difference, here in Austin, TX. Yes, it's faster... Yes, app downloads are slightly faster, and web pages open maybe 2 seconds faster... but, it's not mind-blowing. The hassle of dealing with the 4G toggle switch, (to prevent battery drain,) is a pain...
I wish there was a 4G-toggle program that would use GPS, and check every 10-15 minutes, and turn it on accordingly... when you venture out of 4G coverage, just have it disable it until it finds you in a valid coverage area.
I had the same problem when Orlando went to 4G. I finally stopped at EViO with the KingxKernel BFS kernel, and I have to say that this thing is fast and snappy where I am completely happy with having this until CM6 supports 4G. If you find that 4G is a deal breaker, the best thing to do is to sit down and test out a bunch of different Sense ROMs with a few different Kernels and find out which is barable enough to switch it to a daily ROM.
Eh, I can't bring myself to go back to Fresh. It just wouldn't feel right. D:

I didn't personally like the nightlies or the RC, so I was able to switch just fine, and 4G had no impact as I don't get it.

I've been using it since the first nightly, and they've all been amazing. Currently on RC2, but I usually flash a new nightly every few days or so.
Well, decided to give it a shot since I was having some issues with my school's WPA network on CyanogenMod. I was pleasantly surprised:

Yeah. Don't understand the excitement for this. Noobnl's made greater ROMs than this while crapping on the toilet.
But because Noobnl made this thread, I'm really confused and am seeking answers.
/some of this text may have been made in jest. However, the author still does not understand the significance of this "Cyanogen" mod.
CyanogenMod has to be experienced.
Combination of a great dev team, and optimized system that makes it so loved.
Small system tweaks and menus that don't seem important but are extremely useful. Like being able to skip music with volume rocker, button wake, power button to hang up on calls. CM kernal tends to be overclocked and undervolted which makes the battery last long and still stay very fast.
Also, turquoise/cyan happens to be my favorite color.
This is going to be Epic

no it does not
CM represents the greatest in tweak-ability and configuration. It offers so many options about how you want to use your phone. Coming from the Hero where its only recently gotten CM I freaking loved it. It took the hero from an "eh" device to "I die without this" device. If you think you love your Epic now, just wait till CM is running on it.
If it fixes the Bluetooth compatibility issue like it did the EVO's I'm all over it.

CM includes its own bluetooth stack.... so yes, it support the same bluetooth devices that the EVO does.
I'd like to see
Solid GPS
4G working
TV Out enabled
USB OTG
MobileAP for Infrastructure tethering
Perfect Froyo with the correct EXT4 functional file system
Ap2sd integrated
Undervolt/overclock available via setCPU
All on Cyanogen's excellent, speedy, highly tweakable ROM.
Then I promise..I swear I will leave my phone alone (unless something really major releases)

Well, one of the threads is "More than Meets the Eye" and is RLS 5 and as far as I can see supports 4G. Yet, last time it was updated was quite sometime ago.
The more recnt one is the one I'd assume would be better and faster and more preffered. Buuut, I don't see that it supports 4G, and its RLS 1. I don't have any idea what RLS means, but I'm just trying to figure out what the difference is...

Myns warntwopointtwo is actually the first Rom for the EVO and it was and still is one of the best looking roms in the EVO , warm z is a port not 4g and synergy is sense 2.1 mix with sense 3.0 the best of both world including 4g and gingerbread

Right, I was just on Synergy but my battery life was really bad, even with that power saver so I switched to try out MIUI again. Hadnt tried it since it first came out. Anyways, I still don't think I quite grasp what the difference is between More than Meets the Eye and Yabba Dabba Doo.
myn's warm twopointtwo is based on stock evo software (froyo, outdated software from december btw). it's an oldie but a goodie.
synergy is a project with like 8 devs on 3 phones that is a sense 3.0/2.1 gingerbread mix. it is (in many people's opinion) the best rom for the evo ever. battery is bad because htc hasn't released kernel source yet, so no kernel battery saving mods. bug htc on their twitter for them to release it lol.
I guess battery life on Synergy is a matter of your phone. I get good life out of it, I can easily go 24 hours with normal use and I leave BT, GPS, 4G and wireless on.
Some report that it needs to settle in, how long did you give Synergy?
dkdude, love your carousel and widgets for Synergy. Have you given any thought on trying to get landscape to work? Just asking as that would be da bomb! Anyways, thanks a lot. (Sorry for the hijack)

- mine has always been working for me on CM7 though but great news for people on 2.2!
On my phone, as it's trying to log in, it just quits out to the home screen. No force close message. Phone specs in my sig.
Maybe I'm just talking out of my butt here, BUT I am pretty sure you'll need to be on a 2.3 build to make this work, in spite of the fact that it's on the Market.
Anyone on Froyo actually have it working?
Exact same thing for me. Running Project V ROM. Interestingly, when I look at the supported devices for the Netflix app on the Android Market it indicates the Samsung Epic and Fascinate but doesn't explicitly list the Vibrant.
I've just got an update for Netflix. Its working on 2.2 kb5 stock!!! Try donwload and update Netflix now. It works!!!!!
Finally it works on 2.2!! The version of Netflix app is 1.3.0. No more FC after log in screen.

HOT DANG!!!!!!!!!
It did not crash. I am currently streaming Mythbusters on my phone. THANKS!!! My phone is finally complete. Doing all I hoped it would since the day I bought it.
On Bionix 1.3.1 (Froyo)
PS: And my signal SUCKS right now too!
Yep, by dang if the Market didn't have an update for the Netflix app I installed may 60 minutes ago. Once that update was applied I was able to log in fine. So, it's working fine on Project V ROM.
Update: Yay!
I guess somehow when I installed the new version from the web version of the market it didn't actually install (which is quite my normal experience when installing from the web version). So I was actually trying to run version 1.2x that I had installed on my phone. I uninstalled and installed directly from the market on my phone and viola!
