Desire S screen so much nicer than my Z - G2 and Desire Z General

I recently got a Desire S for my wife.
On paper, the Desire S touch screen should be identical to the touch screen on my Desire Z. However, when showing the same image on the same brightness level, the Desire S screen always looks much brighter and more vibrant and colorful than my Desire Z screen.
Is there any hardware differences between the screens of the 2 devices?

Me Mrs has the s and it looks identical to me. Both gave HTC screen protectors.

I can't find any difference between those two, if there is any difference with the hardware, i would say on Cpu

Might have a different batch of screen mfg. I saw this in the Incredible S forums. They are basically a younger brother to the DesireZ/S

The Desire S is clocked faster (1Ghz, and has 768mb of ram as opposed to our 512mb)

yeah, but it's still a long way from being a Desire-Z
as a matter of fact, I can't think of a phone in all of the world I would swap for my G2/Desire Z - and as it's almost 1.5 years old, that is pretty amazing!

HTC Aria vs HTC Wildfire

AT&T aside...
HTC Aria and HTC Wildfire are essentially the same?
Seems like HTC Aria is the Android version of HTC HD Mini, while HTC Wildfire is the mini version of HTC Desire.
They both have a mix of features though
The Wildfire has a 528mhz cpu while the Aria is 600mhz.
The Wildfire has flash for it's camera while the Aria does not.
The Wildfire has 100mah power in it's battery pack
The Wildfire is .5inch taller then the Aria
But this all kinda means jack when the wildfire seems to be an international phone for us Americans.
In my opinion the wildfire has its biggest downfall in the screen resolution. At the same size as the Aria's screen, it only offers QVGA resolution instead of HVGA.

It is not just 528 vs 600, or 72Mhz. It's a very different, and much slower CPU.
I really loved the wildfire design when it was announced, sorta like a mini Nexus One with an optical scroller. I am so happy with my Aria I can't look back, only think I miss is camera flash.

Wildfire is an odd duck. The Aria is more like the Desire than the Wildfire.

[Q] Multitouch?

Is desire Z true multitouch or is it same like desire lack of multitouch?

No, the desire z scores 4 touch points on tests.
IIRC HTC started using a better digitizer since around the time they released the HTC Incredible.

htc wildfire or htc legend?

hi my phone just got stolen and i have a option of geting a htc legend instead of my wildfire which one would be a better phone?
Legend. Its faster and runs games way better

I depends on how are you using your phone, and how much money would you like to spend for that
Technically Legend. I`ve read here, on xda, that some have problems with the menu and back buttons, and some times the power button becomes squishy.
If you have the choice, I would go for the legend
It's got a faster processor and higher res screen and specs wise its generally better than the wildfire in most areas
One more vote for Legend. Although, over here, Legend is nearly EOL and the cost of it and the Desire is pretty much the same.
Aluminium Unibody <3
none of them.. Desire.. it have the same price as legend i think..
okay then i think ill opt for the legend thanks guys
I dont think it runs angry birds as well as the desire (my fiend has a x10 mini pro with the same cpu and says that it doesnt run that well)

CPU of wildfire is really poor, and it also have a bad screen.
Legend is faster and as a better screen resolution for games.

I say Legend too

coming from a nexus one...

I've been using the nexus one since it came out, however recently a friend of mine is selling his DHD, should I go for it or I won't feel a difference? (except the screen, ofcourse. )
There won't be much difference. The hardware is faster though.

I had a Desire then moved to an HD.
I would say that the size difference will shock you in every aspect; screen, width & height.
You'll definitely miss amoled but after a week you'll be fine.
However, you'll find the HD faster and smoother.
The biggest problem you'll find is the battery, it will barely last a day with 3g.

HTC One x+ or DNA

Which one would you rather buy and why?
Sent from my HTC Vision using xda app-developers app
I think DNA better
Sent from my HTC Desire Z using xda premium
I think you should try to hold both of them in hand for a while so you can see if dna isn't too big for you. Imho comfort is more important than hardware since both are high end.
I haven't played with any, but I would go with the Droid DNA. From what i've heard, it is blazing fast. But ive also heard it feels like the iphone 5 but bigger. i.e. the remote control feel i like to say. It feels like you're holding a tv remote when using it with one hand but if that won't bother you, go for the DNA.
DNA Droid, simply because it has a full 1080p screen among other things under the hood but unfortunately there is no release date in the UK so ordered a Nexus 4 instead.
