hi,
I am new to Android so this might be a noob question but i really want to know how to flash my phone back to original from liberated rom. i grow impatient of waiting for official 2.2 to release so i want to flash the liberated rom but how do i make a backup of my stock rom so i can restore the phone back to its original when it comes to make a warranty claim or when htc has the official froyo release for aria?
thank you

Here is the link to download the original Aria ROM. Click on the "More" link to see the instructions to follow to flash the RUU.
http://www.htc.com/us/support/aria-att/downloads/
thanx for the reply.
1)if my aria is SEA version not under AT&T, is there a difference?
and
2) i've read somewhere from the forum that HTC Sync wont run on CM6, if i flash cm6 instead of liberated, can i still use HTC Sync to recover it back to original?
3) by flashing this rom, my phone will be like original out of the box? which allow me to claim for warranty? ( rooted or flashed will void warranty)
Thanks Again

OK sorry, this ROM file is for the AT&T branded Aria. I do not know where you would find the SEA version of the ROM.
It is true the HTC Sync cannot interact with CM 6.1 ROM at the application level to sync contacts and such, but you can still use HTC Sync to flash these HTC original RUU ROM files.
Hopefully someone else may be able to point you to the SEA original RUU ROM file.
I don't know what "SEA" is but this may be of some help to you and PM'ing the OP or posting in the thread someone may be able to help you...unless of course one of the RUUs from the first post is what you are looking for:

Edit: I guess SEA stands for southeast asia?

Thanks in advance and excuse my noob questions.
Daniel
I think your phone use an old Eclair version of android : 2.1 Eclair 2.59 with Blur
So the first is to make an official uptade of your phone. For that go here
http://direct.motorola.com/hellomoto/support/update/
Choose your country, your phone and follow the steps to upgrade.
After that your phone will run an official version of Froyo.
Read this for next steps... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1216982
and enjoy ;-)
If I don't see my country in the list (Israel) what should i pick (I need RTL support) ?
https://forums.motorola.com/posts/16cf0578c0
So if you don't have official update for your country, I don't know wich one you should pick. Sorry

"CG Versions
With that explained let’s get to business with versions:
CG Version 2: SBF 2.21 / 2.34 / Chinese (Éclair) (Defy)
CG Version 3: SBF 2.51 (Éclair) (Defy)
CG Version 4: SBF 3.4.2 (Froyo) (Defy)
CG Version 5: SBF 4.5.0 / 4.5.1 (Gingerbread) (Defy)
CG Version 6: SBF 4.5.1 (Gingerbread, 2.3.6, (Red lens Defy/Defy+) )
If you try to flash a lower ID version than the one already on your phone, you will just get a Black screen after booting or a screen telling you to flash an official rom.
So, with this in mind, you can now hop between Android versions without screwing up your phone.
If you have an Éclair Defy and would like to keep the ability to downgrade to it, you should ONLY install FIXED SBFs of the Android Version you want to install, and then use the corresponding Nandroid Backup for that Fixed SBF."
Your CG version is : 3 and I think that all the current version of customize rom use at least a Froyo kernel...

So i need to find an official upgrade for my phone (to froyo) before i can do anything ?
because my country doesn't have an upgrade and i even tried Arab-english and it doesn't have an upgrade for my phone, what should i do ?
Thanks.
(Merci )
If you need RTL support, I think yes. Froyo Hebrew or Arabic rom.
Maybe, there is an another way with a Nandroid and a fixed Sbf... But I'm not experimented enough to give you more advices on that. Sorry
I think you are on Éclair.
If you want to keep your warranty, first make a Nandroid backup of your phone, then install only Nandroid + Fixed SBFs.
Im not sure if all the custom roms will work with an Éclair base, but some of them should

unfortunately i don't think so. once you go up on cg version, you can't go back down.
also you need to flash a froyo rom first. as far as i know all the popular custom roms like cm7 and miui requires froyo. eclair won't do.
a nice rom with rtl support? well i don't really know what's a rtl support, but i know of a very nice rom, wajkiui, that has a rtl fix add-on for the arabic users. see here for wajkiui rom, and the rtl fix addon in the second post:

Hi, first of all sorry for creating an entire thread for this but really I had to.
The thing is one of my friend owns this device and he has it running on Froyo, and he wanna upgrade it to Gingerbread. Now I am quite sure that's it's possible but I never read topics here, so can't be sure.
So I am requesting Defy mates who already pushed theirs to GB from Froyo to please mention the process/guidance for me, I need it my tomorrow.
Even if it's just as simple as an Odin flash also then please mention it. You know as it's not my device thus I've to be more than 100% sure.
Thanks in advance.
Regards.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=966537 here is the link for the sbf's but bare in mind upgrading to gingerbread on a defy 525. U will not have a working camera
Hello, i am using the brazilian MS2, am i have flashed the european rom, now i wil put a Custom ROM(Like Cyanogen). but i dont know make this.
Another question, can a use Linux for make this process?
PS: Sorry my poor english
Did You upgraded to stock gingerbread?
Did You searched this forum?

You can search this site or use another more basic site. Try this: www.ajudandroid.com.br/2011/11/cyanogenmod-tezet-para-milestone-2.html
If you have to do a restore of the original system, then you need Windows programs (www.appunix.com.br/howto/linux/goog...icar-osreload-de-rom-original-do-motorola-m2/) or use the sbf_flash for Linux (search google).
If you upgraded from the site of Motorola (2.3.6), you are with the new European GB Kernel. Your choices are more restrictive to put custom ROM's. Again, do a search on the site that is packed with information you need to know.
But most importantly, read, read and read all instructions and follow all the steps. You can brick your Milestone unless you know what you're doing.

Hello, I am a noob to the android (let alone a smartphone) and I own a Defy Mini XT320 which I am trying to root. I have some technical experience (not alot) and have been doing alot of research on rooting the mini. My mini does not have fastboot so from what I understand I need to flash the ROM with new SBF. Could someone please give me step by step instructions that I can understand so I dont destroy my new phone. My carrier is straight talk in the eastern US and my phone is unlocked, OS is 2.3.6 I just want a SBF for performance, memory, and battery life that works with my carrier, yet I dont understand where to download it. I know this question has been asked before and I apologize if I upset anyone. Please let me know if I need to provide any further info. Thank you for your help!
Don't full flash any SBF
