I found a U.S. Cellular Galaxy tab on Ebay for a good price but I don't have U.S. Cellular service in my area. Does anyone know if an AT&T sim would work in it and if so if I'd be able to get 3g service if I unlock it?
U.S Cellular is a cdma carrier. Just like Verizon and Sprint. So the answer would be No.
I could just use it as a wifi only device though right?
Yea,
You could use wifi only!
Plus you can connect to your phone with ad hoc, no extra charge, no sense in paying for a data plan
Hi there,
Sorry if this is a super newb question but I am interested in buying an Evo and using it on AT&T network. Is this possible? If so, difficult? Are there serious drawbacks to doing this? I would appreciate any input.
Just get an Inspire 4G
No, it's not possible.
I would think not, since AT&T uses a SIM card, and to my knowledge, the EVO is only on sprint, which uses CDMA technology.
Cant happen. They have some decent phones coming out soon, I'd just wait.
Sprint uses esn locks so even if you have a cdma phone (such as from Verizon) you cannot move it to Sprint.
At&t uses GSM, like T-Mobile.
Thanks for all your input guys. That does change things. I was considering the inspire but really wanted a front facing camera to speak to relatives over seas on skype which should be coming out for android soon I hear. I am now considering the Motorola Atrix (due out tomorrow). It seems to have everything I am looking for. What do you guys think about it?
Get the atrix if your att
^^Agreed^^
Or you just could bite the bullet and get sprint like we all did....Buy your fone outright from craigslist or something and go month to month.
Cricket is moving to being a GSM carrier and without thinking I bought my girlfriends mom a Galaxy s4 for a christmas preset.
The last phone I flashed was about 5+ years ago. I've found guides on how to flash a Sprint or contract Verizon phone to Verizon pre-paid,
but I am unsure if the Cricket S4 would be the same , also all of those guides are for before Verizon updated their prepaid plan to their 4G LTE coverage.
I'm also not opposed to using a different prepaid service as long as they are decent speed and coverage wise. (Vancouver, WA)
if anyone could spell it out for me or point me in the correct direction it'd be greatly appreciated. I'm trying to get this done before christmas.
Considering switching to Tmobile with my LG V20, only paid $350 for it not looking to really switch to T-Mobile variant if I don't need to. Does anyone know if Sprint version will work Flawlessly under Tmobile Network. Any feedback given is appreciated. Thanks.
Did you ever figure out the answer? Thinking of getting the LS997, but might move to T-Mobile when contract ends. Thanks!
Also interested in knowing this, and AT&T?
I think I can be of help here! I used to own a Sprint V20 and got it remotely unlocked to be used with GSM. Everything works great including I got LTE with AT&T. TMo should not be a problem either. My only gripe was the damn phone went into "Hands free activation" on every reboot.
I have since moved on to a Verizon V20 unlocked for GSM and am perfectly happy with that. The only reason I did this was to try Total Wireless in the future. Since I am not going to use Sprint in the foreseeable future, buying a Verizon phone made sense in that I can use Verizon and GSM networks globally.
Anyway, your V20s should be fine with LTE signal from GSM carriers.
Sweet thanks
I'm using a unlocked t-mobile Samsung galaxy s8 plus device with Att's $65 dollar pre-paid plans and my data speeds are really slow compared to what I was getting with T-Mobile service. Would you please list all the access point name settings are you could DM me or greatly appreciate it thank you in advance take care
Do you have the ATT phone?
You will need to get someone's actually S8 ATT branded phones imei, or you wont get full 4g, just 3.5g
I'm using a unlocked t-mobile Samsung galaxy s8 plus device.
