[Q] Bricked zte blade? or is it a hardware problem? - Blade General

So ill tell you all that happened.
I wanted to install the elite blade s4 rom which required creating an sd card partition so i went to recovery created 1024mb partition and 128mb swap as written in the rom page after that i flashed the s4 and it worked perfectly for a few days after that, one day my battery was on 89% and i turned the screen off and later when i tried to turn it on again it didnt happen therefore i connected it to the charger and tried so then it went into a bootloop and if i took out the charger it just vibrated and didnt switch on.i tried flashing the rom again from clockwork still the same problem i tried flashing cm7 still the same problem then when i thought of trying gsf r3 it showed
E:error in /sdcard/gsf-blade-r3.zip
(Status 7)
Installation aborted
What do i do?!
I forgot to mention that it doesnt boot unless i connect it to the comp

I similar issue with cm7 ics version from this forum the Dev section. I tried everything. Finally I bought an other ZTE blade. The old one is good as dead as it's not even powering.
advise.. Keep off the unstable roms with the blade.

I think your SD card is corrupted or failing. You should format it in a computer without any EXT or SWAP partition. After that try to install CyanogenMod, Swedish Snow or any other ROM that doesn't require EXT or SWAP partition.
Which ClockWorkMod version do you use? I suggest 5.0.2.0.

As per all threads on this topic thread is closed.
Best ROM is a personal choice and can only be found via user since we all have diifferent needs and tastes.
Flash away till you find the ROM that suites your needs then keep flashing to better it
Also not development.

[Q] Bricked my tattoo?

Hi,
i think i have a really big issue here.
I tried to install the Mondo Rom, but i had cm7 and android 2.3 before, so i had to flash back to amon-ra recovery.
I did everything the tutorial said, but it just wont work, soo then there was a great idea that i came up with:
lets try to format the sd card.. and yeaah now i got one problem.
My Phone stucks while booting at the "Tattoo" logo.
I just can boot into recovery or hboot , fastboot wont work, because my computer isn´t recognizing my phone :/
What should i do?
oh and i can´t go into mount usb either it just says:
"E: Unable to open ums lunfile (No such file or directory)
please help, because i need to go to the hospital tomorrow and i need my cellphone :S
If you can boot to recovery, why you don't flash the rom again, or maybe another rom, in case that you have problems with mondo rom?
same problem
i´ve updated yesterday my tattoo to the latest cm7 rom. Everything worked very well, but today it´s restarting the whole time.
it come untill pin and then restart. I dont undestand whats the problem.
I´ve flashed the rom again and wiped erverything but nothing
Try to put your memory card in another phone or in a card reader. Format your sd card again. Put a rom on it and try to install it.
problem solved
i solved my problem after installing an old backup of the old sense rom
and after that i wiped data and installed the new rom
and nnow it´s working

MIUI Uninstall problems

Hi,
Yesterday I installed MIUI RC5b, and had the external sd error. I read around and found that if you get a garbled screen after the bootloader, you have to downgrade it because you have a gingerbread one. That was my problem since I come from JVK, so I flashed EZBase and that fixed it.
I was getting the Cyanogenmod logo after the bootloader one, but still, I had no external sd, so I decided to flash a Doc's Kitchen rom back. After that, the phone gets stuck in the boot screen, does not even get to the boot animation.
I flashed a clean JM9 firmware, and got no problems, but if I install CWM and flash anything else, it locks again. From CWM, I cannot mount /system /data or /cache, because I get a "Cannot mount /system: !" error message.
I've also tried applying / removing lagfixes, and flashing EZBase and upgrading to the kitchen rom.
Reinstalling MIUI I got "SD Card damaged" notification, but everything else works fine.
I'm pretty out of ideas here. I've been reading around and haven't found anything similar.
By the way, MIUI rocks. I just wish I could solve the external SD problem and I would use it forever.
Anyone has any tips?
Thanks.

Could you try to use another sdcard?
I think you should try to reinstall again. Follow the guide provided by galnet or itskapil.

I have installed RC6, and I have exactly the same problem.
When I insert the microsd, I get a "damaged sd card" notification telling me I have to format it. If I press "format", the card formatted is the internal sd, instead of the external.
And after that, /mnt/emmc is still empty and I cannot copy anything there.
It must be a deeper problem, as I thinks it is what makes me unable to install any other ROM.
did you ever fix the miui problem, or get into download mode to reflash another rom? I used miui, then bricked my phone trying to flash back to darkys

[Q] Stuck at Samsung Screen

Can someone please help me? I have a Samsung focus that was recently acting up.. Games wouldn't open etc.. so I decided to reset it.. After I reset it.. Its now stuck at the Samsung logo after resetting.. I am guessing that I need to reflash it.. If so, I need to make sure my battery isn't dead. Does the Phone charge while showing the Samsung boot logo?? Help Please..
I dont have a focus but with a Google search looks bout the same as I wud do on my epic ..found this if it helps http://forums.androidcentral.com/dr...ks/130642-help-stuck-samsung-boot-screen.html
Alright, heres what I did.1. Rebooted in*CWM2. Wiped data/factory reset3. Wiped cache partition4. Wiped dalvik cacheAt this point I couldn't reflash because I forgot I couldn't access my SD card, I kept getting the "e:can't mount /sdcard" message whenver I went to install zip from sd card.5. Took off the back and pooped out the SD card and put it right back in. Seemed to work6. Flashed 2.07. Flashed kejar's sd card fix8. Rebooted through*CWMPhone starts up, do all the set up stuff, but still can't access my sd card or anything. Booted back into*CWM*just to see and was getting the "e:can't mount /sdcard" error again and couldnt reflash anything, so back to step 1.Here's a list of other things I have done since the original crap out a few days ago that might be affecting this.*1. Yesterday I tried reflashing 2.0 and it seemed to be boot looping again. So I just wiped data and cache partition and flashed 1.9.1 that I had on my SD card. Was having the same problems so that was the only time I tried it. Not sure if built in kernels might affect anything or whatever.2. After it seemed like I had a stable 2.0 again last night. I flashed blue*CWM*because I've had yellow this whole time. I also flashed EP1 radios through ODIN because I was planning on going to GG 2.1 (I was following your video dave! its awesome btw*).I'm not sure at what point I lost access to my SD card. Ive read a lot this morning about voodoo lag fix affecting things. Could this be a problem with what I've done?

Thanks for your help but seeing as your phone is an Android phone, I don't think the same process applies. But thanks for the effort, I have this baby up and running now.. I just had to reflash the ROM.. Thanks again :good:

If you have decided to reflash then use ROM provided by 'voluptuary' (3.10a). And moreover, to flash, it would not matter if your battery is getting charged. Just plug the device to your PC using the USB cable and flash the device.
Be VERY sure you flash the correct ROM for your phone. If you have a version 1.3, then ONLY flash 1.3 ROMs to it. If you have a version 1.4, then ONLY flash 1.4 ROMs to it. You can find the version number under the battery on the sticker. If you flash the wrong version of ROM to it, you will end up with a brick.
When having problems like this, I would recommend flashing the Stock ROM to it first to set everything back to normal. Then, if that works fine, go to custom ROMs if desired. Stock flashing will replace everything back to new settings, including spl, radio, etc... Some of the custom ROMs are truly worth flashing, FASTER, stable, nice features.

Problems installing new ROM

Dear All,
After losing my Samsung Galaxy Note in Amsterdam during a heavy weekend I am back on my girlfriend's old ZTE Blade and have been trying to update it a little.
I downloaded the KonstaKang ROM and GApps to the ext. Sd card and booted into clockwork mod recovery (I rooted and flashed a custom rom for her when I gave it to her originally).
I did the full wipe just to make it all as clean as poss and went to install the new rom but ran into some problems.
Firstly the sd card could not be accessed. It was if it was not mounted. I tried various things including mounting it in mounts and storage, restarting recovery, reformatting the sd in another android and the pc etc. Eventually (it felt random) it let me choose zip from sd.
Thats when the rom was selected but it then told me that the rom was (bad) and would not install. Again I redownloaded it and another rom and also a new version of cwm. Still nothing would work it was all (bad).
Out of frustration I kept trying and eventually it changed its mind and let me install the rom. After installation I attempted to reboot system but it just hanged at the boot logo and would go no further.
I have tried all the above multiple times and all combos of things I can think of to get it to work but no luck. The phone randomly seems to decide if the .zips are (bad) but at least it allows me to access them now. Ive also tried installing the other rom and new cwm but nothing will work. Boot logo and nothing more.
Anyone have any ideas what might be wrong? Whats the best way to get a rom on this old blade?!
Many thanks x

Well, first, you have an S3. Why use the Blade?
Second, have you looked into TPT + ROM? Also, what Gen blade is it? Once you can get something stable like cm7 booting, we can progress further

Well I believe it is a gen2 blade. I vaguely remember having to update it from gen1 but I cant be 100% sure. It was a long time ago!
I am using my girlfriends s3 to get on these forums so unfortunately I cant keep it!
I havent looked at tpt + rom and am unsure what that is at the moment . I shall have a read.
I must also say that I managed to install a new version of cwm but still no luck with any roms.
I am loading new roms on the ext sd from this s3 or through my pc I was wondering if the files were getting corrupted somehow. My pc doesnt see the phone so I have to use a card reader.
So yes roms are still saying 'cant open... (bad)' error when trying to install...
Thanks for your reply
