Reason for concern? - Galaxy Tab 10.1 General

I got my tablet today from Amazon and on first boot the touch screen was unresponsive. I rebooted and it was ok. The same thing happened on reboot after I installed the 3.2 update. After I rebooted again it has been ok. It seems to happen only after updates or in the initial boot after the update. Should I return it?

Periodically, maybe once a week, the screen becomes unresponsive. I've found that I don't need to reboot. I just turn the screen off with a tap of the power button (not power off, just turn the screen off). Turning the screen back on sollves the problem.

[Q] rebooting

My Asus Transformer wont stop rebooting and when I turn it off, it takes me countless times to hit the power on/off button to turn it on, then it just randomly reboots every time I am connected to the internet. I have not rooted my device nor have I done anything to affect its stock state, any help at all would be much appreciated!!
I always have to hold my power button for a few second to boot it from a completely off state... Are you doing that? Or just quick pressing it?
As for the rebooting issue, since you are completely stock with out root, then I would start by uninstalling any recent apps. maybe if you remember what new apps were installed around the time the issues began... I would start there. otherwise, factory reset and see if that helps... Beyond that, i'm not sure what you can do with a stock non rooted device. good luck

I have managed to do a factory reset, and no apps were present, yet still when I went to the browser it rebooted and now I am struggling to turn it on, after the first lock screen, it reboots again. Yes, I am also holding the power button untill the screen glows. Thanks for the quick reply!
If a factory reset does not fix it, then back up any important data and get on the phone with asus to do a warranty repair (assuming you are past the return date from where you bought it)
I have returned the device and am getting a new one in a few hours. I hve done some research and i understood that the new firmware update does that to the transformer 101. Can anyone confirm that? Or am I safe to update the new device which i will recive? Thanks!

Touchscreen just died

I was using my Nexus 7 (2013) this morning surfing some sites, when all of a sudden my touchscreen just up and died. No laggy response, no jittery response, just nothing. I can't even unlock it when I wake it up. I can't power it off (as far as I know), since after I hold the power button down, I can't select Power Off.
I'm rooted running a stock 4.3 as fas as I know. Any ideas of where to begin? Thanks in advance.

I had the same issue when I didnt use it for 4 days. Touch would respond and when the power off dialog came up I couldnt touch it but just hold the power button longer and it will reboot. I held it for about 15 seconds maybe 20 and it will restart
Well, if that previous posters suggestion does not work, or any software-related solution, my first suggestion would be to send it back for a replacement, barring that, it sounds like something could have come loose, if you're the type to try it, you can see how that is addressed with the 2012 version:
Google for "How to Fix Nexus 7 Touch Screen Problems", the video is by Tampatec.
Happened to me too once but i was on a custom rom and kernel. I freaked out when the touch wasn't responding!
I held down to power button to power-off/reboot. It seemed to result in a bootloop and i wasn't exactly patient because i was freaking out a bit!
So, i powered down the device again, booted into recovery (TWRP) and to my relief the touch worked!! I just rebooted back to the system and everything was fine.
This happened to me on stock android 4.3 twice. I believe it is a software issue with the last one or two factory builds of 4.3 for this device. As previously stated, my problem was fixed by holding down the power button for about twenty seconds until it rebooted.

I got it to reboot and that seemed to do the trick *crosses fingers*

Had this issue too a few days ago. I connected it to my PC and rebooted it via adb reboot command.
Occasionally I get this issue after switching the screen on running completely stock 4.3, but I can solve it by holding the power button - not to reboot, but just so the menu comes up. That alone wakes the touchscreen up for me.

Screen won't turn off after new install

Just updated to a 4.4 rom on my i337, and whenever I reboot my phone, the screen won't turn off.
It would take hours before something happens that finally overloads it and forces a force close on my apps and then its back to working normal.
The only thing I noticed is that when it does happen, some apps show up in the superuser toast and start working again. Superuser wasn't even on the whole time.

Does not turn off when:
-Power button is pressed
-timeout time (no matter how long the time out is set for)
This only happens after a reboot, and will last for either an hour or a few hours.
But, if and when it finally does start working, it happens after some weird force close of one of the apps.
Currently, it is working fine after a few reboots and uninstalling Dynamic Notifications. It seems to me that when I disabled Dynamic Notifications, the app would still act as the lock screen. I had to actually remove it completely and so far after a few reboots it hasn't reoccurred.

[Q] Can't turn off screen after Kitkat update. Always stays on. Help!

I upgraded my S4 to Kitkat, and once the phone restarted after the updated, I noticed that the screen kept on. I tried pressing the power button, but nothing happened. The screen has been continuously on ever since the update. Even timeout doesn't work, Smart Stay doesn't come up, and Gravity screen also doesn't work.
Please help!

I cleared my RAM, and screen started working as usual. Smart stay still doesn't work, so it is not completely resolved.
Thanks for posting your partial solution--hope you get it sorted--:good:
Mine stayed on for awhile then it started working normal. Even after a restart. Might be some background work.

Screen just went black, everything else is working

The screen of my LG G2 seems to just suddenly died.
The phone was charging overnight.
Today morning I unpluged it and was using it for about 5 minutes when the screen suddenly turned black.
I thought the OS just got stock and rebooted by a long press of the power button.
The phone rebooted, LEDs started flashing and I could hear the starting melody but the screen stayed black.
Everything except the screen seems to be ok.
Double tap to wake is also working.
Background illumination of the screen also turns on and off.
I would like to backup and then factory reset it, before sending it in for repair.
Currently a 4.4.2 custom ROM and Dorimanx KK Kernel is installed.
Do you have any suggestions on what to do?
How to get access to the phones storage to take a backup?
Phone is pin-locked and adb is turned off.
TWRP is installed
Thanks for your answers

If you have twrp you should be able to get your backup your data. Do you remember if you have blastgators twrp installed? If so, his twrp has mtp automatically enabled and then you can backup your data.
