Can anyone lead me to where to find a spare enclosure (not an external case).
The one that holds the whole thing together. Ok I need some help here to find the right term
My Athena fallen and I now got a bent Athena. An art piece I'm sure, but rather have it back to its shape, you know?!
So does anyone know where to find spares?
why dont you take a picture so we could see what exactly you need
Will need to find a mirror as it is the only camera I have
Anyhow I just find what it is. Is the SHELL. The black aluminum shell.
Is anywhere to be found it as a spare?
Thank you

Thank you.
I ordered the spare casing. Will post how it goes....
Sorted!!
I have received the casing, followed instructions and I now have a bright new Athena
The only bad thing is that the camera button and the volume sliders are missing from the replacing casing. and the camera button is a nightmare to take it over from the old one.
If anyone needs assistance with replacing the casing, just PM and I'll do my best to help.
So which did you get in the end, the brando one?
I'm contemplating doing mine at some point, it's pretty scarred.
I did go for the brando and it took about a week to receive it in Scotland.
The instructions are quite easy to follow, but the tools are a must, specially the flat tool to push the parts open. I got mine here when I repaired my powerMAC a few weeks ago.
does someone know where to get a new digitizer? my one is broken (the LCD itself is still fine) and I ordered this one. But they refunded me my money and said they are out of stock
Any suggestions?
Try the brando website.
It looks like they have a lot of spare parts...
If you can't find it, try to contact them, I got a few parts not listed this way.
Good luck

You can try here
http://www.gpsmidlands.co.uk/index.php?category=Pda Digitisers
but this is £90 of her majesty money
the one in your ebay link for £19 is unbelievable, are they for real?
Regards
they said they are out of stock but they promised to contact me if they get some "digitizer-only"
currently they only have full LCD screens for £150
as far as I can see the dealer seems to be realiable...
Hi,
I got my Kaiser Screen broken. The phone still functioning, even touch still working/responding. There're cracks & part of LCD darkened & I worry it might get worse by time/use.
Question:
HTC no longer sell devices in my country. What is the reasonable price + shipping? Any reputable seller that ships to my country & payment method?
Thanks for tips.
Edit:
Got the screen replaced & working perfectly!
Use the 4 screw method, without opening the base, took me 20 mins only
Thanks to Mike Channon, Erwinpiero & many others that fixed themselves & posted on this forum!
Well i'd say eBay is your best bet and I wouldn't pay more than £30 (450,000rupiah) delivered for one. Plenty of people selling them from China, just make sure it has a digitiser, and it's the right model. Oh and pay by something secure like Paypal so you have something to fall back on incase its a bad sale.

I think that's reasonable approach, but I'm looking if any member have dealt with particular dealer that delivers .. something that minimize the risk (at least, it's the right item and got delivered). Yes, we can fall back, but I don't think the process is easy, and especially Pay Pal in ID has no legal vehicle, the site refers to SG. That's the reason I try not going blindly if there're any referrals.
In any case, I'll look around, and update when the screen is fixed ..
Useful links
To anyone looking for info, here're good ones (apart from Mike Channon's site)
http://www.formymobile.co.uk/vodafone1615disassembly.php
(using this method, was what I did, and changed the screen in 20 mins)
And I learnt a lot from our own forum here:

Good luck to everyone.
I haven't replaced a screen on my xda stellar yet but i did have to replace one on my xda 2.
I purchased mine of ebay at a store. e-shop I believe it was called. I would recommend that you dismantle the phone first. There were 2 screens available for my xda 2 and the only way to see which one i needed was to see the connectors on the back of the screen. It may be the same case for the tytn 2.
Also make sure you are purchasing a screen with the digitiser attached. It is possible to replace the touchscreen part but believe me it's not worth the hassle.
Good luck
Thank you very much! Unlike TyTn / Dopod 838Pro, Kaiser screen is luckily pretty standard. The replacement was easy as I got the one complete set (screen & digitizer).
It's now fixed & working well.
That's great news!! I just came on to point you towards the service manual for disassembly (google htc kaiser service manual for anyone else who is interested).
I'm considering replacing the external housing of my stellar, it has seen better days! Having seen the procedure to take the pda apart i'm having second thoughts. Glad you found it easy to replace the screen it looks far worse than what i went through with my xda 2

DEAR
Please guide me to the "the 4 screw method, without opening the base" becuse i have a broken lcd and anew lcd from ebay (25$) and the tools, so everything is ready for action!!!
any instructions, photos, details, pic...etc. would be highly apreciated.
but I need an easy method to do that without dismantling the base and remove the "void" label.
Many thanks in advance

Please read carefully. The two links I provided contain that information.
So I bought a digitizer replacement kit on ebay for my N1. (I dropped it and my screen shattered.) I saw the iFixit teardown on the N1 and figured it'd be easy enough to do myself. The kit comes with tools to open it, but no adhesive to mount the new digitizer.(like the iPhone kits)
Basically I was just wondering what I should use to stick the new digitizer back in. Any advice from someone who's already done it would be great too.
Edit: Got the digitizer installed fine, phone booted, I giggled like a schoolgirl aaaand.. Couldn't unlock my phone. It wont respond to touch. Took it apart again to make sure it was connected properly... So now my only assumption is the digitizer I bought was defective.
Any help would be appreciated..
try asking the ebay seller
Thanks, I'll try that. Any other ideas?
maybe ask an electronics repair shop near you
RellikZephyr
Well I got it installed but it wont respond to touch.. Defective part?
I guess you've made sure it's plugged in right? Would definitely double check that

Yep I did. I contacted the seller on eBay and waiting for a reply. Unless you guys can think of something else I did wrong in the installation I'm sticking with it being defective.
have other people replaced the digitizer successfully on the N1? or perhaps it is some software difference that the new digitizer needs to be "read" by the software, but the OS is looking for the "old" digitizer still...i'm talking out my arse BTW..

I've seen a few people posting here saying they've done it, and I know one guy took pictures of the process. I understand what you're saying and it sounds logical enough, but I can't imagine the parts would be any different to cause that sort of problem.. Assuming the part I bought is legit.
Either way the seller should let me return it if the second one they ship out doesn't work.
i replaced my screen and digitizer yesterday using ebay tutorials i found. pm me and ill share but i bet you used the same ones. its a very delicate process. sometimes you have to be tough with it but at the same time not break the little guy. the only problem i could think of would be your connection. the only thing i fudged on minr was not cleaning the lcd before placing it back in. now i have two large fingerprints in my top right under my screen when i dim it.

I cast... THREAD NECROMANCY!!!
I believe I have the correct adhesive (3M double-sided sticky tape of some small sort), but I'm wondering if anyone has a better idea on how to get the old sticky gunk off of the LCD aside from using rubbing alcohol? Thoughts? Kthxbai.
EDIT: Also, did you ever get your phone working again?
Hello.
The MicroUSB platform on the main-board of my HTC HD2, is broken. So I can't charge the phone nor transfer files.
I disassembled the phone and I need a new main-board now. The part number is 76H03923-XXM.
Where can I buy this part? I've contacted HTC a week ago, but still no answer.
If anyone have this part for sale, please contact me. Or if anyone have a broken HD2 (maybe broken screen), and wants to sell it then don't hesitate to contact me.

Damn so it seams it wasn't only me that happend that. So did i broke my USG port and my phone does not charge. Plus went to the official reparement and they do not want to take responsability for it. They came with the vague excuse of "mainboard defect not covered by the warranty".
They showed me a photo of the board and as they saying my phone has humitty there for not there responsability...
I also wanted to buy a mainboard for my phone but i've searched everywhere and no luck.

To begin with, I sent mine for repair too. HTC wont take the responsibility for the phones broken USB port. They only sent me this picture showing the broken USB.
I haven't treated my phone bad, so i was very disagree with their decision. But they only gave me a link to the Danish court of appeal.
- So, what have you done now? Bought a new phone?
It's sad

To me they came with the lane excuse of humitity in the board. I see that everything is a good excuse not to take responsability for theye'r crappy materials...
I've always been afraid of something like this happening. That's why as soon as I found out powermat made wireless charging for the HD2 I ordered it. It really sucks for everything to depend on one little port.
You might try this solution for now and just use wifi to transfer files. It makes flashing tough but at least it'll be working, and you can take your time looking for a new board.

I got exactly the same answer. "Humility on the board", it would cost me 550$ for HTC to change the Main-board.

Damn $550? Thats a new phone... They asked me €180 and i though they were crasy lolol. The 2nd battery n the charger for it i have one what really needed is something to replace the USB connection...
Try : http://www.globaldirectparts.com/HTC-HD2-Replacement-Repair-Parts-s/6112.htm
Can ask them on the part# for them to search.
Similar problem here. The Micro USB doesn't get inserted properly, seems like it's sticking out a mm too much, resulting in a very bad connection, whereas a few month ago the micro usb would stick in completely.
It now only charges, transfering content with a pc isn't possible anymore.
My thoughts were: if I buy a cradle, chances are that it would connect better due to the gravity (don't laugh ). Today I received the cradle but no result. It only charges, and I have a feeling the charging will stop in the near future.
I have the HTC HD2 for exactly two years and I found it very frustrating being confronted with what is in my thought a construction problem.
I've seen the link for dealxtreme, the external loader, but the comment posted below it, doesn't really encourage me to buy the item (high temperature)
Any other thoughts would be appreciated.
If you know anyone that can solder. They can detach it, and re solder it back onto the main-board. Shouldn't be too hard. I think? Should be possible.
Might help out some of you who have the same issues like I did. I used a toothpick to remove dust from the micro usb port. Although the connector still doesn't fit entirely, I now am able to transfer files again to my phone using the cable. Connenction still isn't that good, but might help.
htc broken port
Dear all. If you experience problems with changing your connector i can help.I have the equipment and will do the job for 20$ only (the price includes the brand new connector) Only problem is that you must ship it to Bulgaria so i can do the job. If anyone is interested can pm me.

thank you
Is there a way to change the partition size witout USB?
EDIT: Is it possible to feed the power directly to the battery connector, and if so how? I could solder a simple circuit if this would be necessary to use a USB adapter as power source
Micro-USB
How can I change myself my micro-usb (for HTC HD2) . Are there a tutorial ? or any videos ? Where could I find all accessories and components required for the repair?
I think the accessories will cost more than a new HD2... I think you can´t do it by yourself because its to tiny
Bad idea!

If you're not a master of soldering, don't even think to!
Any "Masters of Soldering" out there? I would pay for it...
i6amokk doesn´t answer to my PM
EDIT: I bought a second HD2 with damged, but working screen... Now I change the Mainboard, that I have a completly OK HD2 an one with damaged Screen and broken USB. Now how can I stabilize the USB Port to prevent that the new Mainboard get broken too?
And i6amokk anserwed, I sent him Pictures but I,ve not much hope, because the top Layer of the MB is damaged...
Now i am also in that circle of digitizer problem. I bought as second hand and without warranty. So i have to pay 150$ for repairing.
But real question is is the problem persist even after that replacement. Is is knocking your door again.Id yes them i have to think for selling it out as soon as it become alive again. But is not it a foolish act. After wasting my that much of money. Should i keep the phone. Is it safe. Please need very honest opinion
As long as they repair it properly and don't damage anything else in the process, it should be okay for a long time. I've had my HD2 for a year, and nothing has gone wrong with it (besides a busted USB port, my fault) despite plenty of abuse, being dropped many times, flashing many ROMs, etc.
When they replace the digitizer, you might wanna make sure they replace the screen too, and make sure they replace it with the Sharp panel, not the AOU one, as the AOU ones create wakeup lag problems, especially in Android.

Mine just had the same problem after 1 year. Called them and it's still under warranty. Sent in today and hope I won't get any "well, you had software on it that doesn't belong there" crap, though all that was on there was the CHT editor or whatever that was called, never tried anything else.
I only had problems after replacing my cracked digitizer with a defective Chinese clone digitizer >.>
@ Krauti25: CHT Editor is just an ugraded interface, kind of like SPB shell or something like that. If you didn't flash a custom rom, you should be fine.
