What happened to my arc S? - Xperia Arc General

Hello fellow xda forumers, i have a problem with my arc s. it starts like this, a few hours ago i unlocked my bootloader. Then after i unlocked it, i tried to flash a kernel to my arc using fastboot but i assumed it was failed since it took forever with *waiting for device* message . The problem is, after i did all those things, now i realised that my phone can't connect/install MTP driver when i plug in via usb and worst is, my home button is not functioning ! Could someone please help me fix this problem? i just got my arc S a few days ago, i'm so loss now

Reflash it with FlashTool to fix it.

Have you checked USB debugging?
For drivers, try these.
And post in the correct section.

I just downloaded 'update-cm-7.1.0.2-XperiaArc-LT15i-signed' and i've got flashtool installed too but how do i flash it ?

You can flash the kernel inside the package using fastboot and the ROM using CWM.

If you want to install CM7, which you have downloaded, you have to push kernel in your device by using the command "fastboot flash boot boot.img" inside fastboot folder.
Then boot into CWM and install *.zip file from sdcard.

Before flashing ROMs etc better get it working before and flash stock fw with FlashTool.
Also, there's a chance to kill the device when flashing custom stuff, so better do some research before starting without (much) knowledge.

If i flash CyanogenMod 7 is there a possibility to brick my Arc?

Hi
I downloaded the repository of cyanogenMod it run gingerbread 2.3.4 so i am trying to port to Arc and try to learn and i built it, its generic and i tested it on the emulator and it worked.
now if i want to flash my Arc for a test will it brick my Arc???
i have the system.img but i am not sure if its safe to test it on my Arc and not briking it. if not then i will test and if anything happened i will reflash with Bin4ry's image.
unless you've modded it to work with the Arc hardware (drivers/ screen resolution etc) then it simply won't work.. so you probably shouldn't bother taking the risk..
There is already someone working on this.. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1057555
yes i am monitoring the thread. but i wanted to try to miss and take a look on the files.
Chances are u could just use flashtool and it would be fine

He has bootloader unlock and might be better to push Bin4ry's .img file.
Well yea that way would save his data but if it sent work obviously flashtool send me the cm7 over ill try n boot it aswell

It's impossible to brick the phone completely by flashing system.img. So you're safe.
Thanks guys.

Mobile odin

For those who might have missed it, chainfire has released mobile ODIN, no need to use a pc to flash .tar firmware. The flash counter doesn't change and no triangle.

The same as in Odin but the things are less likely to go wrong because you don't need USB drivers, cables nor windows computers which could freeze in the process

Ive used the pro version.. Flash from rooted stock 2.3.5 to 2.3.6 with root.remained and unchanged zero binary counter.. Thanks a lot!!
Thread cleaned of childish banta please respect each other and don't forget perceived text is often very different than spoken....
Not tried it yet as only used odin about 4 times since got phone to get ROOT and to deep clean.
Will have to give a shot as always handy to be able to flash odin too while mobile.

root your phone first using other method which Is using USB..after that, just use mobile Odin pro to flash ROM with root included..
Great app. I flashed WXKK5 on rooted XXKI4 without losing my root. Mobile Odin Pro V 1,25 works like a charm. "Ever root" feature is worth money spent.

Problem flashing kernel.

Hello,
I have a problem trying to flash a new kernel. I'm currently on android GB 2.3.7 with DoomKernel GB. So I tried to update to ICS (MooDeD's ROM) but that didn't work, so I figured I had to update to the DoomKernel for ICS. I did everything right following the instructions but in the command, when I try to send the boot.img, it takes FOREVER. Literary 1 hour, and it isn't even done yet! I checked if it was recognized with the test command and it was responding so idk what I'm doing wrong. Please help.
I have a Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc, MooDeD GB 2.3.7, and DoomKernel GB, PC is Windows Vista.
Thanks.

Are you in APX mode? If not power off your device then hold Volume (-) + Power. The device screen should stay black but the home button light should turn on. If you are already in APX mode have you installed the nvflash drivers. If not put your device in APX mode then plug it in your computer and installed them. They can be found in rom op normally. Hope this help you.

When you connect it while being in APX mode it shoud be detected as APX in your icon tray or as NVIDIA USB Boot-recovery driver for Mobile devices into device manager. But you can reinstall them if in doubt it will only overwrite them. Also, I've did a mistake in the previous post, APX mode is VOL(-) + VOL(+) + POWER.

Plug in your device while in APX mode. Go into device manager. Find your device and open it. Go into the drivers tab. Click on update the drivers. A window will promt, in it, click on find drivers on my computer. It will ask you the path to the drivers so select where you uncompressed the drivers and it should install. Enjoy flashing new rom!

So this is probably honeycomb 3.2.1 ? I think you should try krook1's CM10 rom. This is jellybean and it run way better than stock honeycomb. You can check it right here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1825176. I really recommend you this rom as it is the more recent and bug free version. You simply use the nvflash version to start then you go into cwm and you flash the most up to date wich is v6.1 for now. Instruction and download are in the link.
This is what I tried
