Nvidia Tegra Zone - Playstation

has anyone notice the new news update in the tegra zone on March 9? Playstation basically mention they'll be working on a new app called "Playstation Suite" to tegra 2 devices? i couldn't copy and paste the article from the app, but here is what it basically said:
http://www.phonearena.com/news/PlayStation-Suite-to-bring-the-PS-magic-to-your-Android-phone_id16261
wouldn't it be cool to play old classics from ps1. they also mention that they'll port over some ps2 games too. there're a couple of ps1 and ps2 games that i wouldn't mind paying $10-15. hopefully they'll be around or bellow the $4.99 sweet spot
That's great, you should just get fpse and be done with it....

ill be using FPSE until this comes out, but im excited about this
with this combined with emulators - I actually think that the android platforms has a comparable number of games to the apple app store.

ICX Play Launcher - Restarting Development Soon!

Just though the need to create a new thread and inform the people who were interested in the ICX Play Launcher.
This is going to start been in development again very soon! I have only just recently purchased an xperia play again.
I have since started a little quest into Adobe Air Mobile Development. After I have hit my goals with the gaming development I would be more than welcome to start back up with the ICX Play Launcher. HOWEVER - Testing/Developing at my speed is really slow as I have a lot on my plate as I am also a freelance web developer, I am interested in creating and gathering a little team of developers together 3-4 who has knowledge with AS3 and Flex 4 as this is what I will be developing all my code in from now on.
If you are interested in joining the team and have past experience with AS3 or Flex4 give me a shout as it can be a great help. For the developers I will be throwing a little github together so we can monitor each others improvements to the code.
I have a lot of ideas for the launcher such as making it a home launcher with the PSVita style.... Who knows??
Awesome. I have always thought about this ICX Launcher and wondered if it would ever see a release

psvita style eh? I'm gonna have to keep an eye on this thread....

Looking forward to this!
Cool i'm really happy that such a man is back for our Play. ThumbsUp!!
Speaking of Development and Testing, I am in the middle of creating a fighting game which will be Play exclusive which takes the Street Fighter style into today's graphics. I was wondering if I could possibly gather a few people together to test the game on there device.
As I am running CM10 on my Play I am needing people mainly with ICS or GB installed on there device and have not edited the DPI (as this game is constant Xperia Play exclusive which is designed especially for the community to bring back some more fun into the device).
If you are interested just drop me a little inbox and I could provide you with the current BETA of the Game to try out for yourself.
Dude you are awesome! The Play has to keep alive.

Great to hear that ICX Launcher is still on! And I'd be more than happy to provide any testing services I can for your Xperia Play Exclusive fighter!
Sorry to bump dead threads but did this happen? Been away a while

Ubuntu for Phones

Ubuntu for phones has just been announced today for mobile devices.
Ubuntu for phones website
Ubuntu for phones keynote presentation (Skip to 6:30 for the Mobile OS)
What does that mean for us? Ubuntu for phones supports the full range of ARM processors and also fully supports Android device drivers. Which means Ubuntu for phones should be easy to install on a multitude of android devices including the DINC2.
What does this mean for Devs? You can code in native C and C++ and there is no Dalvik VM to limit what you can and can't do.
We'll be getting a glimpse soon, as the Ubuntu OS will be made available for the Samsung Galaxy Nexus in the coming weeks.
That looks so sweet
I will keep my eye out for this one!

I just can't wait to test it on a non nexus device. Seems very interesting.

Sadly I seem to have been mistaken, the OS will only be available for phones that feature the A9 chipset and that doesn't look to include the DINC2....

Regardless it's good to something other than google os. As much as I love android, I wouldn't want google monopolizing the market furthermore. It's about time Ubuntu/Tizen and etc to shine.

I really want to have this! Looks promising and even though I'm an AOSP fan (and android uses a Linux kernel) the possibilities with an Ubuntu phone OS really attracts me!
cool eager to try this out
Supports A9 phones? Yay!
Waiting for this to be ported to my S3 when it's out for the nexus!
Hope they will support armv6 or

Question related to games

I wanted to ask that y does our nexus 4 not have most nice games?
I saw brothers in arms 2, was not supported
Asphalt 6, not supported
Saw many more games (mostly 3d) and none were supported
Common games like asphalt 7/8 and gta were supported
Moreover, game developers have started tegra exclusive games that really makes me feel bad
Google advertised this phone as built for gaming, and we all know that our phone can easily handle tegra3 , then why can't we play those games?
Since this phone is a Google phone, I demand gaming support, at least for nexus devices
Can anyone tell me one some reasons good enough about this all??
Are there any adreno specific games??
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda app-developers app
Well basically it's up to the game developers, which devices they say are compatible.
If they say it's not compatible with our nexus 4 then we don't get the choice to install it. simple as that. Google doesn't get a say in that matter.
Don't go throwing demands about because it just makes you look like a spoilt kid.
There are many different variants of system on chip designs used in the various phones and tablets that android runs on.
Now it's impossible to expect developers to release an optimized version of every game they release, to cater to every different variant of soc out there.
Nvidia been a big name in the graphics industry setup and made agreements with developers to make optimized versions of their games with better effects (known as THD).
Now if you want somewhere to complain. I suggest you either go straight to the developers ask why they aren't supporting this device. Our go to Qualcomm and ask why they aren't pushing for optimized games on their platform.
Complaining here will result in nothing but people flaming you.

It's the games' developers' the game that make those calls, not Google, and definitely not you.
Anyway, good luck with your, ehm... demanding.

Sounds cool!
Is it powerful enough to emulate heavy games like assassins creed and NFS?

Kainy doesn't emulate anything, it's a remote desktop solution that's optimized for gaming. You connect to your computer and control it remotely while it runs the game.
