Hello everybody,
I live in France and I purchased a Kindle Fire in US.
I rooted it under 6.2.1. I installed Android Market. Everything it's working well. However, when I click on my OpenerMarket icon, it is always the US Android Market. Is there any way to access to the french site (french MMI including US/French apk) ?
Thank you for your help !
Kind regards,
Michael

There are no error messages. It just says "item will be downloaded" but doesn't show any progress whatsoever. It comes up installed on the website, but I just click again. I have the framework in system/app as permissions rw r r.

Hello,
I rooted a nook touch recently but neither the amazon market nor the google market work.
google market cannot connect
amazon market gives a "parse error"
I might try sideloading apps.
any advice?
1. how did you root it?
2. Did you do a search in this forum? There is already a thread like this !!!

No idea about sms, but you can copy contacts to sd card, or failing that sync it with Google account

The Market might be named "Play Store" or "Play Shop" FYI
You have to download gapps and flash it in your device.

He said he's running Froyo, I'm assuming stock
Try to download GAPPS via your phones browser and install it. Had the same problem and it worked.

Like I said, he's running stock, therefore no recovery
Just sideload an apk (download it from the internet) and install it, should work

You'll have to root it. Install a stable GB ROM.

IS there any way to get Google Play on an unrooted Kindle Fire?
I don't want to flash a ROM.
I'm just looking for a way to download it on my KF.

No, not unrooted. But you do not need to install a ROM to get Google Play. You just need to root it.

Fixed
How can I fix this. I've tried clearing data, reinstalling disabling developer options, and nothing works. What can I do? I'd like to read my Python Programming Book...

The problem is the Kindle App crashes. Would their appstore fix it? If you have a link private message it to me.

That's why you need to go to the link and install the last official Amazon app build. There are three apks there. Appstore, Kindle apk and Amazon MP3 apk.
There is an issue for some with the newer Amazon apks. Until it gets sorted, use the Apk's at the link.
