Random reboots - Huawei Ideos X5 U8800

Hey,
I have a Huawei u8800 Ideos x5 with random reboots. I already send him back but they only have update the phone to 2.2.
Does anyone now a solution for this problem, I hate it and I won't send it back because they have to make it the first time!
Anyone a solution please?
I have a stock rom

If i'm not mistaked, your phone come with at least Android 2.2.1 Stock ROM, did you make some modification?
If not, it seems a hardware problem.
Regards!

I had a lot of random reboots with the stock rom but installing the Oxygen rom from the development section fixed the problem.

Custom ROM's?

Is someone working on custom ROM's for this device? It would be nice to know if someone is.
Also a CM7-port would be great, is someone trying to do it? (as it's just a small modification to the Desire Z?)

There are a few people trying but I don't think any of us have been successful yet. Within a few weeks there should be something kicking around.

Yes when neopeek got his new X5 later this week there would definitely be something for us to test/play with, get ready
i know that recovery for x5 has worked successfully,so if i flash desire-z's rom(like cm7) to my x5,what will it happen?
wait for it.
Ideos x5 is still a new phone. I think in the near future will be a lot of modifications. Our toy has great potential. I do not advise ROM combined with other phones.

Your phone will spontaneously combust.
No but seriously, nothing will happen other than you will need to do a complete reflash (purple screen method) then another reflash with the CWM backup. I have tried this before. It will sit at the Huawei logo, you will start ddms, the screen will then flash black and the huawei logo, freaked me out the first time.

[Q] Rom/Kernel for U8800-51, AT&T Impulse 4G

I come from the HTC Incredible, just trying to help out a friend.
I successfully rooted his Impulse using super one click, and installed CWM recovery just fine for the U8800-51. Next I was planning on installing a custom ROM and kernel, but it appears there are none for the U8800-51 correct? Because it is just ever so slightly different that if you flash a U8800 ROM it can/will brick it.
I don't believe it's a "pro" because it still has the MSM7230 @ 800MHz.
So, question is, are there any that support the U8800-51? I've searched around, and didn't find any. So I assume there isn't. Just making sure I didn't miss anything. This Huawei is quite different from the HTC devices I'm used to.
There is no custom rom as of right now.. We have been discussing here

Alright, that's what I thought. Thanks for the reply.
I think he's going to go back to the store and exchange it for an HTC Inspire anyway.
Gingerbread For U8800-51
So, i flashed this rom update from Huawei, and it did not work (many have said this). A side-effect of this is that now, i cannot take it back or update to another rom, because i am unable to root this phone due to the e: drive not showing up when i go into recovery mode. Can anyone help with this??
I have:
ATT Impulse 4g aka U8800-51
Gingerbread 2.3.5 from Huawei
Thanks!

U8800-51 rom
I found this copy of CM7 searching the web. It says its for the U8800pro, I've installed it on my U8800-51. Everything works so far but the only trouble I'm having is it reboots when I lock the screen??? Can anyone help? I'm not a developer, so if lamest terms can be used I would appreciate it. Also I take no credit for this ROM, credit goes to Genokolar.

To eliminate the random reboots u have to flash official U8800pro Gingerbread update, but u may lose 3G (im using MIUI 2.1.20 in my U8800-51, and in Chile with the U8800pro baseband we lose the 3G, dunno in USA, in Brazil they dont have this "bug").

Thank you.
Can you put a link up for the Gingerbread update for the U8800pro? Also, is this OK to use on U8800-51(AT&T Impulse 4G)? And would I just flash it like normal with CWM Recovery?

we are stuck for right now
all the AT&T phones (u8800-51) that tried gingerbread made a mistake.
there are many problems with it. network, wifi, bluetooth etc.
We are all waiting on a true u8800-51 root to take us to stock 2.2.2
there is one going around now but it is a non AT&T u8800pro rom.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1367633
lots of us are having the same problem, but it will be resolved soon.
So for right now just enjoy the beautiful yet useless ginger bread
and we will find an original u8800-51 Impluse 4g rom soon.

[Q] Downgrade U8800 android 2.3.5 beta to 2.2.1 or 2.2.2

Hello. I got this U8800 with android 2.2.1 but upgrade it to 2.3.5 because i wantet new layout etc.. Thanks, it worked
hi i did the same with a u8800-51 and then once nothing worked and i researched.....(i know i should have researched first) that the u8800-51 was not good for the huawei site upgrade. after several hours of searching i found a link on here that pointed me toward a downgrade, but turns out its for the u8800 pro while everything kinda works i can tell from what i had before its not working properly. long story short im a nub and did not back up the stock stuff. and now have no way to get it back is there anyway that someone can provide me with the files i need to return my u8800-51 impulse 4g back to stock?
Same issue
I also put the 2.3.5 b826 on my impulse also. thought i only had a u8800. Not the 8800-51
i flashed the same u8800pro on mine, and now i am trying to root it, speed it up, and get everything working.
I've contacted both huawei and AT&T with no dice. AT&T won't give out original root files, they think we'll hack them, break em, and go in for warranty with a new flash on a bricked phone. no....never.
Huawei support is dismal, they were useless.
By the way my local warranty place (in Dallas) said I voided the warranty by downloading an unaproved download.
So... for now your phone will act funny, do strange things, and not be stock again for a while.
*Found a smart Huawei rep, and supervisor, they said they might have the stock u8800-51 rom to me by today. I will post if recieved.
*Found a person in the forum that might have the original root also. once again will post if recieved.
*The root file being flung around as a u8800-15 is really a u8800pro rom so not much help
I'll keep you posted on any progress.

So, been scouring this thread, for my U8800-51 issue, after realizing I didn't have the U8800. I thought I was being "smart", because I downloaded from Huawei. Only to discover I no longer had AT&T service, wi-fi & trying to add the right APN info wasn't working. If you've got the stock firmware (Android 2.2-Froyo), I'd really appreciate your sharing, please.
Thx,
