i've got HyperDroidGBX-v11 and i have only 150mb. i've installed recovery_250M but after installing that rom there is still 150mb. i need some help with this issue. please explain that very simply what to do. THX.
i think you misunderstand how it works, the 250 is the amount of space neeed on nand to install the rom, whats left is the 150
after i've installed HyperDroidGBX-v11 i go to storage settings and i've got there total space: 151mb and available space 118mb. after android restores all my programs i have only 40mb free space and after 1-2 weeks i've no storage space. i'd like to have about 100mb more for programs.
sounds about right if you are installing apps on the internal nand but it does say to use a 150CWM partition not a 250, that should gain you an extra 100meg straight off
i don't understand exactly what do you mean. can you just tell me how can i get more storage for apps please? is it possible at all?
you are using the wrong partition size for thew rom!!! you are lsoing 100meg by using the 250CWM you need a 150CWM as per the rom instructions...reflash using a 150CWM partition size and you will more free space
also sounds like you dont have an ext3/4 partition for use of a2sd
ok. i've changed recovery_250M to 150M and i have 67mb more. what is going to happen if i change 150M to 100M? do i get an extra 50mb free space?

The ROM probably wont load if you use a partition lower than recommended then you will have more problems. If you follow directions of the developer you will be fine.

thanks guys. now i know how it works. i've had that before Eelkede but i didn't know why i have to change size to lower but now i understand, so everything is clear thanks!
I personally use the 100meg recovery size as the system size for v11 is very small have not ran into any problems. I believe he uses the 100meg file and recommends it.

Today I was updating my android rom (one of the first nands) and I've updated magldr and installed CWM.
Then I installed a new rom with CWM and after reboot he keeps showing the bootscreen of the rom, I've tried another rom and it's the same...
Can anybody help me?
The most common reason for being stuck at bootscreen is improper partition size. You sure you got that right?
I've taken the largest partition size (400mb)...
you don't take the largest, but rather the most suitable. (or the one stated in the rom's thread) you should also take into consideration whether the rom NEEDS sd-ext or not.
What rom do you want to use/upgrade?
Have you met the requirements? (sd-ext/system partition/cache/radio)
I've a EU 512mb HTC HD2. I don't know my rom anymore that I used but I think its a darkforce froyo rom...
I've parted my sd with cwm: 1024ext, 64mb swap and used the 400mb CWM
Now I want to install the Runnymede 3.5 or the Desire HD 3.06.405.1 - Sense 3.0 - Android 2.3.5 [v1.4][RAFPIGNA 1.9GB], i don't know which one is better...
link to those roms please?

okay for the first one (runnymede) you need 6/200/8. that means 200mb system partition, 6 boot partition and 8 cache partition. AND A 1GB SD-EXT
And for the second one you need 5/155/5. which means 155mb system partition and 5 megs for both cache and boot. AND YOU NEED 1GB SD-EXT.
Neither of these ROMs will run under a 400mb system partition ~!
And remember, always wash your hands and wipe your phone/sd before attempting another rom

If you're using the old method, then look for a file called config.cfg, edit that using any file editor.
But if you're using the NAND Toolkit, you can edit them by selecting the desired partition from the panels on the left or the right, depending on your bootloader, and the cache is just right below those panels.

Hi, I am using MIUI with Android version 2.3.7. Everything is allright, but I only have 217 mb of internal memory in total. The MIUI ROM and other apss take up about 180 mb and although I have moved some apps to sd I now only have 40 mb available. It should have 512 mb internal memory. Why can't I see and use all of it? Is it possible that I didn't delete windows mobile or one of the other android roms I have used so far, though I am sure I have tried "clean install" a few times?
Dalvik cache & app data take up a lot of space too, you could move these to th SD ext partition to free up more internal memory. You will need a2sd installed I think to enable this.
Peace
Sent from my HD2
the 'available internal memory' figure only counts the data partition size.
so (for example) if your rom requires a 200 meg system partition, you would show..
512 minus 200 minus whatever cache size you flashed minus the boot and recovery partitions (lets guess 50 meg) so your available internal memory on a completely fresh install, no data or apps, would still only show a max of 262meg available.
Also, if you flash a system partition bigger than required, you dont get the extra space to use. So flash a 180meg rom onto a 250 meg system partition, and you lose 70meg, the system wont use it for anything.

Thank you so much. My ROM itself is about 100 mb. How much data partition size should I actually spare for such a rom? Also could you please direct me to the post that tells me how to arrange the data partition size and do the rest of flashing my rom again? I would really like to have more available internal memory. Also I would be happy if you told me what ext 3 or ext 4, whatever it is called, is and if it has anything to do with internal memory.
If the rom is 100mb then you need a partion of at most 110 so if your using clk or magdlr..after you have wiped nand...partition it to 110 if possible or use 105 even cos you don't wanna be giving up wanted space..
Hello guys i have a T-Mobile HD2. And i know its has 1 gb rom.But the toolkit for hd2 supports only 450 mb max partition. How can i make it 1 gb? Thanks,,
no one knows :/
that 450 is the system partition only, if you made a 1gb system partition, you wouldn't be able to install anything, and you would waste a heap of space. when you setup the partition layout, anything left over becomes the data partition. so a 450 meg partition layout would leave about 550meg as the data partition for your user data, apps and such like..
Also, there's no point making the partition bigger than you need, ,if you flash a 200meg rom to a 450meg layout, you will lose the 250meg difference, it wont be used by the data partition, it will be wasted space.

You can use clk1.5 to increase the system partition to that size in settings>repartition.

eiy seems like AOKP but using HD2Toolkit, min. for cache is 5mb, try the link below it could give you an idea
Installations:
Please use at least 170MB system partition and at least 2MB cache partition.
Please refer to ksubedi's HD2 NAND Toolkit and/or mskip's guide.
Cache partition (/dev/block/mtdblock4) is only mounted and used by CWM.
Cache partition size is not important because the data partition (/dev/block/mtdblock5) is used as the cache space when running Android.
If your HD2 has bad NAND blocks, you may need larger partitions.
Wipe
Wipe Data/Factory Reset while doing a fresh install. (Optional: also delete /sdcard/Android folder or format your SD card if you have any strange issue.)
Advanced -> Wipe Dalvik Cache while upgrading from an old version and wanting to retain data.
Flash this ROM.
I click custom and below that enter 2 in cache box, click repartition. Show new table "What do you want the custom partition size to be 5-445 MB allowed. I write 170 click OK.
I give table sorry chase size must be 5 to 45MB.
Where is I did mistake ?

1 -In the main HD2 android NAND toolkit window, look left for "Choose system partition size(MAGLDR)" and select "CUSTOM"
2 -Below this window change "cache size", but smallest possible is 5MB. It doesn't matter if it's bigger, won't give trouble.
3-after those step choose "Repartition" button below 'Functions' and type desired (4) system partition size.
Have fun.

as retsam88 said, it deoesnt matter the cache size, most people leave it at 5, some roms say 45, (but i haven't seen that for a while).
As far as i know, (i've read it once or twice) on most roms, only recovery uses the cache partition.
misc ya 1M
boot yboot|ro 5M or 6M // According to their Recovery
system ya 150M // Minimal Installation
system ya 240M // Full Installation
system ya 150M - 275M // Custom Installation
cache ya 2M
userdata ya|asize|hr allsize
if you have Bad Sectors, please add 5MB more, to System Partition
I like to do this partition. What do i have to make it work with hd2toolkit ? Thanks

you cant because the toolkit writes a new flash.cfg each time when you choose custom, or uses an .nbh when you choose a preselected size.
You should find the daf.exe flash version of cwm, and when you extract it into a folder you will find one file called flash.cfg, , open that in notepad you will see a list like teh one you posted, , edit the numbers, save it, then run daf.exe with teh phone in usb flasher mode.
