because it's a feature that HTC put into Sense?
no, even if you DID for the Sense calendar and try to install it on a non-Sense rom (i.e CM7, MIUI) it will not work. why? Because Sense applications, like the HTC Clock widget, HTC Weather, and HTC Calendar require a Sense framework to run. so ONLY Sense ROMs can run them.

Thank you, that would explain it... which sucks but oh well... i can never decide between CM and Sense roms which sucks becuase thats one of the main features that keeps me on Sense

HTC Dialer and Contacts on Non-Sense rom

Is there any way to put HTC Dialer and Contacts application to non-sense rom, such as cyanogen mod?..
Because for me stock dialer and contacts application are awful, and I can't find any another applications as good, as made HTC..
Is it possible?
Try DialerOne.
Thanks, DialerOne is good..
And what about screen during call, with horizontal slider, is there another one in Sense style?
In response to installing HTC's Dialer and Contacts apps, it can't be done.
Any update on this ? Getting the HTC Sense dialer and contacts on a rooted EVO w/ CM 6.1 ?
The default Android in all black sucks, compared to the nice Sense dialer.

You cannot use HTC system apps on Google devices because they use totally different frameworks and other stuff. It would be so much easier to build an app that is similiar to HTC than to use the original HTC apps.
alternate Programs to Sense UI ones
For those of us that know that the sense applications cannot be used on non-sense roms, I beleive the true question is where is a list of the best HTC replacement apps. Most importantly for the dialer and the contacts but also for other things like the calendar and weather/clock etc.
I know HTC does this on purpose so that they can have specific things about their phones that are better than the standard phones on the market. But it seems like if the apps were replicated and then still used on HTC phones that it wouldn't be an issue. Just my rant anyway. But the main deal is just having a comparable apps list since the sense apps HAVEN'T been replicated outside of sense. Anyone?
im kinda surprised no one commented on this. fwiw, i just downloaded the Dialer One app and I'm kinda digging it.
I switched from HTC One to AOSP-driven phone, and Google dialer is an ergonomically disaster.
Any news on best HTC-like dialer replacement?
(Dialer One seems not exist anymore)

How to get the Desire HD/Z widget in other builds?

i was running desire hd 3.4 for the last couple of days but today i decided to switch to froyo sense 2.4.2 because the camera is working on that build.
now i would like to know if it's possible to get a updated sense on that build. there are some nice features missing. like the preview of themes, a lot of themes, background pictures and especially some nice widgets and the feature to see all htc wigets in one place.
especially i am looking for the data-connection and settings widget which comes in bar-style (setting, wifi, mobile-data, sync, bt, etc.). is it possible to get it somewhere? it was pretty convenient compared to the single button widgets i found on the market.
thx a lot!
u cant. HTC sense is complicated. u either have it or u dont. at least for now...
that's sad. does anybody have a suggestion for a bar-like-settings-widget. sorry for my english.
I know what you are talking about. There are a few out there. Try "extended controls" in the market. It's also built into CM 6.
Sent from my T-Mobile G2 using XDA App
try launcherProPlus widgets
thanks for your suggestions. i'll give those widgets a shot.

Have you tried the "Power control" widget? I do use LauncherPro, but I don't think it's specific to that.
Go to the market and search for "SwitchPro". It's awesome, and you can customise the appearance, actions, and number of buttons. Easily better than the power widget included with froyo.

cyanogen rooted

hi,
i've been using the cm mod for a while now, but since there is no sense on it, and i don't like the standard facebook widget, i wanted to make it transparrant or dark glas, or however you call the theme, and i need to have my phone rooted... though i don't know how to root my hd2 cm mod phone..
or if someone has an easy alternative to get the other themed facebook widget to my phone would also be appreciated!
thx
Nati

Htc picture widget on rooted phones

I searched through pages in development but couldn't find anything on it is there a way to make the picture widget to work on CM7?
No htc widgets will work on cm7. They rely on the sense frameworks.
You cant even use the sense widgets on stock rom if you use a different launcher.
Thanks, any widgets similar to the one i am looking for that can be doeloaded from market where you can swype to change pictures
Not that im aware of, if i use one at all, its the stock one that only lets you pick one picture.
