Anyone having them? My 4g radio seems unstable. It disconnects on its on it at times. More than a few times a day. Also, with 4g on I get a Max of 2 bars. Most of the time its at 0 bars. Like in the pic below. Only when 4g is shut off do I notice that I get to 4 full bars. I've done a profile and prl update. Currently on the ke1 radio. Anyone with the same issues? Fix? Everything else is going smoooooth so far. Running nsx 1.3 with Eugene's kernel. Also I've tried all the other ics roms and its the same issue so I know it isn't the rom itself. I read ics for the ns4g has wimax options. As an ex epic 4g owner we had this and it allowed tweaks for more stable 4g connectivity. I forgot the dialer code **** now I have to call sprint and get my msl :-\
Anyhoo, peace fellas.

NS4g radio Issues
yeah i just notice that too, first I though it was my work building I was in (cell phone signal death trap) but lately I have noticed that my 3g tends to drop randomly and my 4g maxes out at 2 bars also. really didn't notice it until Spotify and Google Music both kept refusing to play music saying I was offline Im running vhgomez36-ICS-NXS-4G
Yeah, my data and wifi seem weaker in general when using ICS ROMs.
yes!! it would show that i had 2 bars with 3g but when i would go to make a call it would just drop out and not do anything. very infuriating!
Although i'm running a Nexus S (non 4g) i9023, seem to be having the same problem. Signal is very weak, and completely drops for periods of times in places where i otherwise got full bars, even the WIFI signals are weaker!!! :O
I have a similar problem of my data connection dropping all together. I would still be connected because i can make and receive phone calls but no data (3g or 4g). So far a reboot is the only solutions.
using AOKP crespo with gb55e9ac kernel
Guess ota is the fix here? :-\

I've been the proud owner of a G2 for three days now and my download speeds have hovered around the exact same area that I was getting with my Vibrant. Yesterday I decided to swap my Vibrant SIM to the one packaged with the G2 and I'm pleased to say that I got my first real world experience of HSPA+ this morning; a result that is unachievable by the Vibrant. Without further ado...

**Note - While I am in love with that speed, there's still web issues that I have. Does anyone else's G2 randomly get stuck on uploading data for a while instead of downloading? During this time, I cannot send messages or download. I just have to sit and wait until it's done. Anyway, what are the speeds that you all are experiencing with your G2's?
Yes, sometimes my data stops working. A quick toggle between airplane mode seems to fix it.
So u swapped sims to the one that came with the g2 and instantly got faster speeds?
Maybe I need to try and swap. I just used the sim that I had in my G1

No, it wasn't instant. It was ironically a gradual process. (Or so it seemed...) It started off at the peak of what I was getting with my Vibrant around 6mbps and then kept moving up. I didn't swap the SIM for faster speeds but more to resolve missing phone calls without notifications. (That benefit alone was worth it!) I was under the impression that the swap wouldn't change much, if anything, but I think my argument has been shot out of the water. Go figure.
My girl just got a D2G at my suggestions (since she's on verizon and NEEDED a keyboard and didn't really like the Merge).
I have run her 3G speed test a few times outside and she can't even get to 1mbps? That doesn't seem right to me. I'm on t-mobile '4g' and getting a minimum of 3mbps (up to 6mpbs), and while that's at the low end of '4g' it's trouncing her speeds. I thought 3g speeds were better than that, and I expected her to get 3mpbs on the high end and 1.5mbps on the low end.
We live in Albany, the capital city of NY... and have 3g coverage from all major carriers.
Anybody getting better speeds?

Yes, she turned her phone into a vagina.
Here in the big city of Topeka,KS I usually get around 1.5 mbps with my D2. Just ran a speed test on the iphone I tote around for work and it was a blazing 0.55 mbps.
Here in Central NJ I usually just leave it on wireless, but I just checked 3G speed and got a disappointing 0.87Mbps.
I'll be turning wireless back on now. Ah.. much better!
Ive got speeds of 1.5mb to 3.5
In in the cap city better known as Albany too and get good speeds over what you recorded either......might be something to let vzw know or try switching towers, might help.

ALBANY!!!! Small world.... I live on Western by Mary Jane's book store.
I am a bit curious as to what 3G speeds you guys and gals are getting on a normal basis.
I usually get around 2 mbps down and 1 mbps up, and I live in the outskirts of orlando. For some reason, it's actually faster here than in the middle of the city.

Usually where I am, at full signal strength I get about 1.7mb. I've never reached 2mb

I'm lucky to get 1mbps down and 1.2 up.....but i'm also in the middle of a frickin field
around 1mb down and 700kb up.
Same place with ATT on my iPhone I was getting 2.5mb down and 400kb up.
Doesn't seem any slower though *shrug*
Live in the mountains so mines realllllyyyy slw.

Same here. I am in east Tennessee.
I work for USCC and typically when I have done tests on our wireless card and different phones in store around 1.5mb down and somewhere around 600kb up. I don't have a clue on my fascinate since I just use it on wifi and as a music player/camera/camcorder.
I get about 500kbps down and 700 up. It angers me very much how slow it is. Every other phone I've tested gets at LEAST 1.2Mbps up.
Are all of these speed tests listed here running on 3g or mixed bag w/wifi? I know the title asks for 3g speeds, but 2 mb looks like wifi to me. Not disputing, just clarification/confirmation.
Heres about what i usually get at home on 3g.

Don't feel bad. Mine isn't always much better. I am normally on wifi when I need to do web surfing or anything major. I see you are in Dallas which I guess I could understand the speeds because of major usage. I live in a small city and still get somewhat pathetic times, usually just a little bit faster than dialup.

Ouch. I have WiFi too, but it's also an unreliable POS because it drops out every ten minutes. I'm thinking of switching, but the only other carrier that has a decent signal is Verizon, but 5GBs of data is a killer. I often pass 6GBs on my EVO.

Is the wifi a hotspot problem or a phone problem? If it is a hotspot problem then I would flash an updated firmware for it. I had a linksys with that problem and the firmware fixed it. You could also try changing the wireless channel in the routers configuration.
It's a Sprint problem.

Hi guys,
First sorry if I ask a pretty noob question here, i just want solution to my problem.
So, I use 3 (three) as one of available carriers in my country. It really annoys me that sometimes the signal is unstable, and the signal goes very bad while i am in my room. Fyi, I live in the biggest city in Indonesia. Is this a common issue in any of your country? Are there any solutions for my N4 to optimize the signals?
Here is some screenshots of my network speed (using speedtest.net)

If you don't mind having slow internet, select use only 2g networks in network options, this helped me go from 2-1 bars to 3-4 bars

The only solution I've heard of is to try and flash a different radio version:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2087227
Some people report that different radio version give different results, so it might be worth a try - I'm actually considering this myself, since I also have a weak signal when inside at home.

Problem is solved, thanks once again mate!
Now my 2G + 3G signals are much much better than before, after I flashed .54. With .48 I usually have 2G gray bars in my room, now it's always blue, even if I use 3G. Solved right?
Thanks!
