Hi.
I had (have - sometimes) a few problems with my ZTE Blade.
I had GSF Beta 18 then decided to do an update to CM7 stable.
I had lots of force closes and Launcher Pro kept reloading the homescreen - probably it was killed.
After that I tried cm7 nightly 227 (latest). It was running much smoother, but I still had a few reloads of the homescreen.
I currently have CM7 on my phone, last nightly KANG from 21. of december.
Very smoothly, but still a few reloads.
I even tried other Launchers: Launcher Pro, Go Launcher Ex (didnt like it because of ads), ADW Ex.
With all I still have some reloads of the homescreen, which is annoying.
After a lot of flashing I think it is a ROM problem.
Can you tell me the difference between the current ROMs for the Blade?
Elitemovil - GSF - Elite Blade - CM7 - etc.
I think I will leave CM9, because it is too new yet.
I heard wbaw continued development of GSF.

Hi there, on my second vibrant. I'm having some issues with this one and I need help determining if they are hardware related.
I'm running 3 homescreens with:
Beautiful widgets
Pure messenger widget
Switch pro
Pandora
I'm also running launcher pro.
I have some major lag problems when launching apps. It takes a minute or so to open most apps, plus I get a lot of black screens. I've factory reset the phone twice and the issues go away for a while on stock settings but the phone starts to lag a bit as I load apps.
Any ideas?
I might just return it....even though the phone runs ok on stock settings, might have a hard time returning it.

most likely software.. and related to one of the apps you have dl'd. as you said in your post, the phone works fine stock and doesnt start to act up until you load apps.
i would suggest you just install your apps one by one and have a small testing phase between each one. then when it starts lagging you will know what app to avoid.
Wait did this happen on both phones. Even if not, still sounds like something you've done to the phone. I would root and run autostarts to prevent certain items from opening. It's all in the sticky if you want to try.
Its both, look into the lag fix. Launcherpro + all widgets are running off the internal sd along with the appdata (thats moved in the lag fix) and with the poor performing I/O of the internal sd, it lags. The stock launcher + samsung apps is built into the system dir (internal nand) so doesn't lag as bad.
No, I returned the first phone because the homekey wasn't working.
Once the apps do manage to load, I notice that there isn't anything I can do to slow the phone down. Certainly seems more and more like a software bug...Maybe Launcher Pro isn't playing nice (even though I've reinstalled it a few times, and after factory reset). That or the Pure Messenger widget (scrollable) is what's screwing everything up. It worked fine on my Mytouch 3gs though...We'll see.
I'll add apps one by one until I find the culprit.
OK, thus far installed ADW instead of Launcher Pro...
Everything seems to work really well thus far. ADW seems to handle scrollable pure messenger widget much better than Launcher Pro. I think that was the source of my incredible lag.
Still testing, but has anyone else had issues with the scrollable pure messenger widget and Launcher Pro?
The HD i bought had already installed a 2.2 sense in magdlr. It is fast and stable.
Im willing to change and i tried miui 2.3 in sd. Worked ok but suffered sometimes apps made it slow, showing me the chinese guy with the turtle a lot.
After this i tried tostidroid with ics v9.0. Loved ics. Apex launcher, everything. Hated the performance.
Changed to tostidroid 10.0. Usable but not for everyday use.
Now, all the questions:
1. Is having ics on this phone, with nice performance, a real possibility? Or should i just stay at 2.2, 2.3 roms?
2. When changing version of tosti from 9 to 10, i deleted the entire folder and did all the setup. Is that the right way to do it or there is a way to just "upgrade a build?
3. When looking to improve performance in tosti, tried to overclock the phone with rom control. Phone reset itself or freezes. So i should rule it out? Should i try overclocking to lower values?
4. Could my sd be the one to blame for poor rom performance?
5. During all this time i left my sense 2.2 in magdlr as a fallback. Should i just backup this rom and flash a new one directly to the internal memory?
Your thoughts?
We`re not going to have a fast ics without lags, unless if someone can port full hardware accelleration for ics in our device
im running the latest tostidroid on the NAND with dorimanx 5.6 kernel
I dont really notice any lags, only in the browser when using multiple tabs but using dolphin solves this
full HWA would be sweet but it is not really a dealbreaker
Ιn some point you are right.Ιcs is fast or even faster from gingerbread if the app you use doesnt need hw acceleration. For example in ics launcher i have lag but i havent it if i use zeam launcher.Same for default ics dialer. If i use dialer one there is no lag.Αlso i think that it scrolls better in some programms.for example in k-9 mail
So, trying so me replacements might work? I noticed the facebook app is almost unusable, mobile versión works ok. I love apex launcher, maybe should try nova? Da, twitter, baconreader seem fine. Widgets i only use simicalendar and clock. Was cable ti overclock a bit the phone and so dar looking good.

Check out this new launcher:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.go.launcherpad
It's GO Launcher HD designed for tablets running Android 3.x, so it runs just fine on our SGT7 if you have an ICS ROM installed (either AOKP or CM9 work just as well). You should try it if you are looking for something that looks and behaves differently than Trebuchet and its clones (Apex and Nova).
Cheers,
C.
Hi
About 6 months ago I switched away from the stock ROM to Cyanogen to improve phone performance.
With stock rom, the performance was really bad. Switching tasks would take ages. Scrolling facebook would lag, starting apps etc.
After switching to CyanogenMod things seemed to work faster, however I've noticed that about 2 weeks after a new rom is flashes the phone starts lagging again. Currently I'm running a nightly build of Cyanogen 12.1 (android 5.1.1).
The performance is bad, switching tasks takes ages, loading new apps and what not.
I don't use the phone for anything other than WhatsApp, Facebook and emails.
I need a suggestion for a lightweight rom that has the best performance. I don't need any fancy widgets. Just have the base android 5.1 features.
Could it be that Google Now launcher causing the performance hit?
Is there any way to have stable 60FPS in the homescreen? A magisk module? A custom kernel? I'm on Xiaomi.eu ROM. There is a lot of lag in the UI. I dont matter battery consumption, I just want the UI to be butter smooth.
Use aosp builds or in case you can't, use custom miui builds by different projects , like miuimix.
Try this:

Requires root.
how i root my phone and install that program? im a newbie. And is it working on Redmi Note 8?
use Xiaomi eui rom 10.9.28.+flash magsik zip+flash predictor custom karnal 4.0..your phone become butter smoth.also Super battery backup 7-7.30 hour..sometimes 8 hour..
I recommend latest MiuiMiX developer rom on android 10. It's very smooth (both UI and apps), stable and fast with great multitasking (apps open and switch literally immidiately), and has good battery backup (10h+ is not a problem).
Changing default launcher also seems to make phone smoother (I use nova launcher and the difference is noticable)
I have a pet peeve with MIUI 11, official ROM. There is this great option to schedule dark mode. But if I set dark mode for 5pm and unlock the phone at, say, 6pm, it will be switching to dark mode in front of my eyes and I will have to wait for it to finish before I can use the phone.
The way it should work, in my opinion, is by waking the phone at the scheduled time, switching to dark mode, so when I first take the phone half an hour later, it's already done.
P.S. I use Poco Launcher and haven't yet tested if this waiting time has anything to do with that. Does the default launcher behave in the same way?
