Don't know if there's a free root method available yet (At least last I checked). Good Luck all the same though.

Bump: Still nothing?
Did you manage to find one? I've been looking everywhere in CT for someone who can root the phone, but haven't had any luck.
Nope, I used the AlphaRev X way...was one of the beta testers.

Your not likely to find one in SA. To expensive, why not use revolutionary, it's quick and easy, just need a of with internet connection.

Revolutionary doesn't support the wildfire S and they told me today that they don't plan on supporting it in the future.
hey everyone, my brother just bought a mt4g and it was rooted (running miui). he wants to use it on simple mobile but just sticking a sim in there wouldnt work.
I have an epic 4g and know that its best to have the phone on stock (or at least stock rom) when trying to activate it, but i had problmes getting it back to stock.
is there anything fancy i gotta do first to get it to work? he hasnt actually bought the simple mobile sim card yet but he tried a friends and it didnt work. do i have to unlock it or something?
This phone takes a particular SIM card. We get posts on here all the time saying SIMs don't work. When they compare the contact surfaces of one that works to the one that doesn't the difference is obvious. Tell simple what phone you have and ask if it takes a special SIM.

Hey I was wondering if there was a tutorial on how and what I need to config the phone to do this. I have a mint EVO 4G from work that I would like to gift to my sister but she can only do pre paid plans when it comes to mobile.
Right now its rooted and has clockworkmod as ROM manager. What other steps do I need to take and what ROM should I use in order to go pre paid. Lastly is there a preferred pre paid company to use for the device i.e. one that works better than most.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
PS
Its 2.3.3 if that makes a difference. I wasnt sure of the upgrade path to 2.3.5
It's a bit more complicated than just flashing a rom. Depending on the carrier she wants to use I may be able to help, I have had my evo on boost for close to 2 years now.

If she uses cricket I can help you with that one. Have done two og's for myself and a 3vo for my gf. Plus helped others do their og.

What's up guys? I'm thinking of buying this phone this coming week, but need answers on two questions..
1. Does the rooting method described in these forums work on the international model? Really would like to hide the soft keys and remove some bloat.
2. Would like to buy a case for this bad boy, and am I correct in assuming that all cases work except the ones made for the vzw version?
Huge thanks to anyone able to answer the questions, don't feel like using a Samsung device for the fourth year running..

I was told the root would work for international version. I haven't tried yet however.
Thanks for the answer. Been checking around and it seems like it works for both branded and unbranded international models

So last night I went and switched from T-Mobile to Verizon. I'm living in a different areA and T-Mobile has little to no coverage here. Verizon is the main carrier.
So in the store, based on price and size of the phone I went with the desire 626. I like HTC phones so I was hAppy with the choice. I came on xda last night and seen a very small community. Is this phone that new? Very little development rom wise had me bummed out.
Looking at the threads I see posts of 626s, 626g+. I want to root/recovery as soon as I can. If anyone can confirm my version and recommend a root/recovery method that would be extremely helpful.. thanks much.. looking forward to being here..
My cAmeras are 8back, 5Front
