ZTE Blade lost WiFi connectivity - Blade General

ZTE Blade was successfully connecting to local WiFi network until yesterday, but the next day (and after some minor updates, if I recall correctly) WiFi does not work: though there is an indication that the device is connected to the WiFi network and the phone is shown in the network map of my router, no content can be downloaded or viewed! Could it be a hardware issue or is it the CM7 to blame...?

i have been using cm7 for some time and i never had problems with wifi did you try installing an app Blade Wifi Fix and see if it solves your wifi problem mate ?

Thank you guys for your replies!
@Jackoo7, I certainly have already tried rebooting and change the Settings options, but with no positive result!
@Kannibalism, WiFi Fix??? No, I know nothing about that...! Where is it...?
Additionally to this WiFi issue, I'm noticing a battery charge disfuntion: I use to turn the phone off during nights and last night I plugged the charger to the wall power outlet to charge the battery (it was as low as 50%). The next morning I turned the Blade on and, though the Return soft button LED was shown green, the Battery Charge Indicator was still at 50%!!!
What the heck is going on...???

Problem with battery charging

Hi,
I have a problem during charging my battery in HTC Iolite.
LED which mean charging can stay yellow for many, many hours. For example today my device was charging from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. (9 hours), and the LED didn't change to green.
It change just when I twice use soft-reset and few times plug and unplug the battery charger cord.
Any one know what's the problem?
Best regards,
Radek
I have the same problem, but if i'm recharging the iolite from my computer via the USB cable it works properly and it turns green. Is this a common problem? Anyone else has this strange behaviour?
Maybe the wrong AC/DC - unit? Look at the backside. 230V or 110V input? (for instance from USA or some asian countries)

Mine says 100-240V and it came with an attachable European plug.

OK!
2nd idea: you have a AC/DC ad. from a navigation-unit? Try it, so you see, is the adaptor or the phone defect.
Greetings
I don't think, it is phone or charger problem. Mine does the same (orange light for about 5 hrs). At first, I thought, it has something to do with SEX Battery enhancer, but I think, problem is somewhere else. Device is fully charging maybe for 2 hrs (just guessing) and when it is near full charge, it slows charging current. My laptop is doing it in the same way - Quick charge to 95 %, then slow to 100 %.
Also whe you use WiFi, BT or data connection, battery is draining and charging all the time. With combination above, it might be charging all day.
This is just my guess, but very probable one.

I'll try to charge via USB next time or in the car.
But so far I've used original AC/DC and second one from HTC Trinity. Both are 110-240V, 5V, 1A. And nothing has changed.
I have also a HTC Touch HD... but in my opinion it's not AC/DC problem.
Maybe should I change ROM or something?

... but in power settings (information tab) is a date of "last full charge" which changed when LED turns green...
My laptop charge to 100% in about 3-4 hours when I'm using it (2 hours when turn off), and after that battery is "unpluged" and working only on AC/DC. I think it's to prevent from battery damage because of still being charged.
Change ROM is not so easy, because are no many working ROMs avaiable (CID-lock!), only the oiginal ROMs. I think, torrentonly is on the right way.
I have the SEX-Battery-Enhancer on my phone too, my LED will be green after a while. You have any data scessions on, for instance bluetooth or AGPS?
I was disable all data connections, make the weatherupdate and internet with ActiveSync or wifi. With AdvancedConfig I was disabled the "auto data connection" and enabled the power management. My battery runs one week with normal using (ca. 3-4 calls per day and ca. 1/2 hour per day playing with any apps) 4-5 hours needed the loading from ca. 15% to 100%

If you mean the car charger kit, than I can say that when the last time I used the phone as a GPS it was fully charged after 1 hour (it was just half way charged when I connected it) and the green light came on just fine. This is a mistery
I use a AC/DC from my old Navi, have a mini-USB-plug. They have more power (the Volt is the same) and it works only with 230V~. Yesterday i was tested the original Power unit from Iolite - works too.
Now, when Palingo not makes data connection, maybe it works now?
Greetings
the device actually stops charging, but the led doesn't turn green
You can sense this - htc not being worm after a while (when it finishes charging)
If you soft reset the device, the led will turn green immediatly and the battery level will be 100%
So I guess it's something software based

My Iolite is from official HTC distributor, with original HTC ROM and without SIMLOCK. If I decide to update firmware I'll probably use original HTC ROM, but I don't know is there any newer than mine? And where can I find it? On HTC site?
I have:
ROM 1.09.479.3 (40104)
ROM date 01-16-09
RADIO 0.41.30.12
How CID-lock works?
I've installed SEX-Battery-Enhancer and going to plug AC/DC again We'll see what happen with LED
BTW: My battery runs about 3-4 days (in Trinity 2-3), but I turn-off phone radio for night (24:00-8:30).

I have exactly the same. But yesterday even after two or three soft resets LED didn't turn green.
Amazing
I've noticed this too - although it doesn't happen everytime. I'm pretty sure it's a software related issue as the charging itself works properly. The only trouble is with the battery indicator/led. I don't feel like hard-resetting my device yet though. Anyone here had the problem since the beginning? Maybe some of recently installed Apps made it work buggy (?).
Following apps have been installed in my device in period when I noticed this issue (maybe the list is not absolutely complete):
2_Way_Plus_InCall_Recording
FingerKeyb-2.1-QVGA-Giannis86
FingerSuite.v1.11
MobileMonger1.2
mobireader
MortPlayer-3.3-en
nitrogen-0.3.2-wm6
QuickMark-HTC-Niki-v3.8r4474
S2P-0.58-QVGA
VAlert
(Personally, I am little suspicious about S2P...)
My other thought is that my device totally ran out of the battery life before I noticed the problem for a first time. Maybe also this could be connected to the issue somehow...
So, 3 questions:
Did you notice the problem since the beginning or just recently after using the device for a few days already?
[*]If not, did you install any of the apps above (or any other you are suspicious about)?
[*]Didn't you make your battery flat before your first notice of the issue?
Got no more ideas right now...
light problem
I found some bugs concerning this indicator light.
- I tried a new carholder (Brodit) and thought that this was not the good one, because the light was still green. After trying to plug it just "in the wall" it was also still green.
So I gave it a soft reset and after that everything worked: any powersource made it turn orange.
- If I receive a message or an email there's no change. The indicator does not flash orange. Never. And all settings are just fine: warning (sound) and flash.
edit: according to the manual it should flash green when a message or mail is received. Problem is that there's no difference, because it's always flashing green.

1/ Yes, I have this problem from the first charging using AC/DC
2/ I don't use any of these apps so I can't tell you anything about them.
3/ I'm always charging battery when it's not less than 10%-30%
Yesterday I made a small trip, so I use car charger. Original from HTC. And after 2 hours LED turned into green.
So... What's the problem?!
I have the same problem.
I have the italia rom, when i charge the phone with PC usb it's ok, when i charge with the power adapter the only way for charge is shut down the phone and in 1 hour the charge is completed!
Same problem here
I have bought the Iolite two days ago and it have the same problem described in this thread.
The green light of battery charged doesn't appear and the PDA is always hot (even when it is turned off).
I try to hard reset and recharging it and it works fine, but after few hours it begin again: the phone became hot and the battery drains out in a few hour and if i try to recharge the green light never appear (it stay all night with the AC plug).
Anyone have some ideas?
thanks
e.
PS I have the Italian ROM too.

Power Button Staying Lit

Is anyone having this problem. I have an a70 250gb when I push the power button it stays lit even in deep sleep. My battery drains completely overnight. I don't want to power off when not using for short periods of time.
I had the same bug as well with my 25ogb, but for some reason after a full reset it seems to be gone...
I thought at fist a program might have caused it, but i've reinstalled the same apps and i don't have this problem anymore..
I too recently developed this problem where the LED light stays on and keeps using power when in standby. I thought it might be some app I'd installed but thought it might sort itself out so after a week without improvement, I did a Reset, without result (except for losing another 32MB to the Swapfile). So then did a Reinitialise, also without result. To be clear, I didn't install any apps and still the thing won't go to sleep anymore. Any idea's?
Well looks like we're at a loss... I got the same bug on my a101. Battery drain isn't too serious though, but still it just boggles the mind.

I have the same problem and it happened around the same time my USB port died.
I've been waiting until the shop where I bought it has stock again to return it for repair/replacement. I think this is related to the USB dying.
It's happening the same with my 101. The led stays on when it goes to sleep, even after stopping all the processes using the Archos OS Monitor tool.
After a reboot seems to work OK; the led turns off in standby mode after five seconds more or less.
I haven't used deep sleep yet.
Maybe some application is causing this?
I installed only a few apps and firmware is v2.1.08:
- Aldiko
- Angry Birds (of course)
- DroidWall
- ES File Explorer
- Google AppsWidgetsoid
- SiMi Folder
- Zuma's Revenge

Have you checked the right tab "Wake locks" in the Archos OS Monitor?
Yes, I did change to this tab once and the list was empty. It appeared and disappeared a process very fast, so fast that I couldn't read the complete name
Good hint!
I get this sometimes on my 101, but a reboot seems to sort it out, Its got to be a process or app running in the background I think.
The best answer on the ArchosFans forum was :
My gut reaction is that you'll see this happen when you have the USB host problem because that issue happens when the power regulator chip in the Archos dies. And nothing can be done other than an RMA with Archos.

I verified this and my USB port was indeed not responding, so I've swapped it at the store and the new unit is wicked
Re: Power Button Staying Lit (Possible Fix)
Ok here's what I did after checking that the USB port was not the issue(worked fine with a usb flash drive). Check the following location
Go to: Settings-->Location & Security-->Use Wireless Networks
Description lists it as "See location in applications(such as Maps) using wireless networks)
If it is enabled, disable it. I turned it off, went pack to my home screen Soft press the Power Button for Standby Mode and the power LED is off within a few seconds.
Worked for me, Hope it works for you
Yeah, I have the USB host problem too, and it does seem like that is the cause. Argh, I don't want to go a week without my A70. D:

Confirmed. Hell, didn't know that would work O_O.
Thanks!
No luck for me - it was already off, and toggling it on then off didn't help, even after a reboot.
Nothing in the wake-locks list, and my host USB port is dead.
I see an RMA coming.

[Q] Weird battery, or phone, problem!

Hello, I had a strange problem with my Defy. I left it charging overnight, and I think that battery charging led was light up as normal. This morning, I pressed the power button, and then phone rebooted suddenly. When booted up it would not connect to the mobile network. Checking the phone's status, battery status and information related to the cellular network were both "unknown" .
I tried to restart it a few times but no improvement, indeed it got even worse.
After a while the phone begam to reboot by itself just seconds after the appearance of the home screen (in the meantime also wallpaper was gone).
I thought it was a battery problem, so I reconnected to the power supply but nothing .. same reboots after a few seconds.
I tried then to reboot into recovery and I flashed again CM10 (Quarx's 20130110) and fortunately the first reboot showed the usual charging of the battery which actually started charging from 0%. I loaded and now seems to work properly.
I had another problems a week ago... the phone didn't charge at all during night, but without reboots like today, but plugging the usb cable either to the power supply or to a computer didn't anything to the phone.
I wonder, it's just a battery problem? Or was it a problem with the rom or even worse the phone?
It would be useful to flash an sbf?
thanks
Problem with Rom I think, flash a previous version or you can flash any sbf. It is not a phone problem

Data and Wifi Disconnect - No Data Connection

Hey Guys,
Got my brand new GS5 on Tuesday this week but I've run into a pretty major data connection issue and I'm unable to identify a root cause for it.
Essentially, when I leave my phone on overnight (and plugged in) I wake up with no data connection. The wifi is disconnected, and even though my phone shows it is picking up the network, I can't load any sites or do anything using LTE - so both wifi and my LTE data connection are not working. Additionally, the wifi isn't only disconnected, the wifi function is literally turned off. When I try to toggle wifi back on, the toggle goes a light shade of green, like it's stuck trying to turn back on, and never turns on.
Eventually I have to restart my phone and it works just fine again. This has happened on 2 of 3 mornings since I've purchased the phone and only seems to happen after extended down time for the phone as it's never occured during the day. I'm thinking of exchanging the phone (this would be my 3rd GS5 as the first one didn't recognize any headphones.)
Any ideas? Anyone else seen this?
Thanks!
Mine does this when I do a fast reboot. A normal reboot works fine, however.
I would hazard a guess it is a software, and not a hardware problem.

Wifi not working

So it has came to this....
My tmobile note 3 is suffering from wifi problem which is causing it to turn of and on itselft iin such a loop that it happens every 2 seconds.
Wifi was working fine other day and this happend out of the blue.
It has happened a while ago but it resolved it self.
I was running stock kernel and rom unrooted (sigh....)
I have tried solutions which came up from google search. (wifi scanning and etc..)
I opened up my motherboard but it looks just as before when it was working.
I got a glimpse of wifi action only after phone was shutdown and it was offline charging and after booting wifi was working for 2 or 3 minutes.
Now Im runnning linageos 7.1 rom without google apps so there are no location services causing it to restart.
What might be the problem is low battery voltage not giving the wifi chip enough power to run but just to start which explaing why it was working for a little time after offline charging but I couldnt replicate the solution.
Sorry for misstypes.
If wi-fi works properly when running the latest stock rom, it could be an incompatible kernel or ROM.
Its not working properly on stock rom and kernel.
It seems like its restarting wifi by itself so fast that it cant even do the scan properly.
It loads up wifi netwoks after been shutdown for few hours but it can connect because it starts to restarts again.
Could it be a defective wifi chip? I have come across two Samsung s4 (one sgh-i337 and one sgh-i337) that work perfectly except for wi-fi. With both phones, I toggle wi-fi to the on position, I see the message that it is turning on wi-fi for a few minutes, then wi-fi just turns itself off and stays off until I toggle it to the on position again. Both phones do this over and over so I changed the motherboard and everything went back to normal.
I appreciate you comment, really I do, but replacing the motherboard seems to pricey for this old phone.
I will most probably switch to nexus 6p.
Here take my thanks as my graditude and merry xmas
You have two solution
First one,
1-turn off the phone
2- connect the charger to your phone
3- simultaneously turn on the phone
The wifi should work fine
Second one, replace your battery
The problem comes from the battery voltage which is less than 3.7v at startup of your mobile for old and fake battery which can not turn on the wifi correctly. You can use Ampere applaction to measure the battery voltage (not the current)
