Android 2.3.3 screen responsivness is kind of messed up *Fix* - Streak 5 General

I noticed that when I installed 2.3.3 on my Dell Streak the touch screen was really unresponsive and you'd have to hit a little above the buttons on the screen for it to work.
How to fix it:
Turn your phone off.
Hold the Power Button + Both Volume Buttons till a option menu appears.
Use your volume buttons to scroll to "Calibration test" or something and click the photo button.
Now follow the on screen instructions for auto-calibration. It will do it twice and takes between 10-30 seconds.
It will send you back to the options menu, scroll down to the option "Power off" and select it with photo button.
Now boot phone up and tada. More responsive than ever.

device no longer defaults to slider locked when hold down red button

I used to have it so that if I held down the red (hang up) button, and picked no choices from the menu that comes up (lock, turn off screen, sleep, etc.), it would automatically become locked needing me to slide the slider next time I turned it on before it would take keyboard commands. I soft-reset it, and now that doesn't happen anymore - on wakeup, it goes right to the Today screen. I don't like it because it comes on in my pocket sometimes. I tried
HKCU\ControlPanel\KeyBd\Devicelockwhensuspended = 1
HKCU\ControlPanel\BackLight\AutoDeviceLockEnable = 1
but still no good. When I hold down the red button, it gives me a choice of Power Off, Turn Screen Off, Lock Device, and Set vibrate. If I do nothing, the screen goes off (which is where it used to be locked), but now when I hit the green button to wake it up, I see this same menu again - not the locked slider. When it goes to sleep on its own, it doesn't lock either - straight to Today screen when a button is pressed. What's going on?!?
My next attempt was to assign the "hold down red button" to \Windows\DeviceLock.exe but I can't figure out how to assign "hold red button" - what's the best way to do that?
thanks!!
Mike

Screen locked

I was playing a game on my Vibrant on my break earlier today and upon exiting it my screen locked up. Rather than wait for it, I pressed the power button to turn the screen off and went back to work.
A little later I brought it out to check the time and saw that the screen was on am pretty sure I saw that it said "Scanning media" at the top and assumed it had reset itself. A little bit after that I checked my phone again and saw the NoLed icon for new emails. I pressed the power button to turn on the screen and then tried to swipe it to unlock it but nothing happened.
That's pretty much where I am now. The volume and power buttons work but the screen is unresponsive (I can bring up the "Phone Options" screen but can't select any of the options) and none of the "soft" buttons on the bottom work either. Is my only option to do a hard reset?
And if it helps, this is a completely stock phone. Never been rooted.
I would just pull the battery.
I remember having something like that with NoLED, tr pressing the power button to wake it up and press the home key (unless you have it disabled in NoLED prefs) to get to the lock screen and unlock it.
Press and hold the power button until the phone reboots. That should take care of it.

Thanks! That did the trick. Could have sworn I tried that already but apparently I didn't hold it down long enough.

Handy SleepOff Button

How many of you have faced the problem:
The power button is too out of reach to bring the phone out of standby. I used Xperia x10 earlier and the phone will show the lock screen once the middle button is pressed.
However for the Desire HD, i have to somehow press the annoying power button for it to display the lock screen.
Cant there be any other button which can shopw trhe lock screen cuz to reach the power button is not so handy.
Set your screen timeout to something quick. It will lock itself then.
I don't really have this problem as have biggish hands, but I can imagine what it'd be like.
Locking is not the issue.
Unlocking is the issue. To bring the phone out of standby and to show the slide to unlock screen, one has to press the "OUT OF REACH" and designed to "AVOID ACCIDENTAL" press button at the top.
I mean the top button is already a accidental press proof position. It really is a task to first press it ans then unlock the phone. Thats 2 procedures just to make a call.
Can some one mod this?

[Q] Major Problem - Post Gingerbread

OK - updated unlocked (not rooted) Atrix to Gingerbread the day it was released. It has been fine for the most part up until a few days ago, when I have experienced some apps (Pulse, etc...) causing the phone to crash and reboot. Today it has gotten stuck though, and I don't know how to fix it. It boots up fine, and when I unlock the screen, there are about 4 or 5 error popups from different Google services (com.motorola.service.main, com.google.process.gapps, com.android.portal, Data Manager, Bluetooth Share) and then the phone does a quick reboot (the AT&T logo doesn't come up). I unlock the phone, same thing happens. If I just leave it there, it reboots by itself after about 2 minutes. I cannot get to the "settings" to do a factory wipe. If I go into Android Recovery, touching the bottom right of the screen doesn't do anything at the android/triangle/exclamationmark screen. I am completely at a loss. Please help!!
Try these steps....
Power off the phone, press and hold volume down button, press power button.
Screen will come up with "Fastboot", press Vol down key to cycle through choices until you get "Android Recovery", then press Vol up key
Wait for the "triangle ! / Android" screen then go on to step 4
Tap on bottom right corner of the screen (may take a few times). a menu will come up
Tap on "wipe data/factory reset", and tap OK. Another Confirmation screen will come. Tap Yes and OK
After userdata is cleared, the "reboot system now" option will be highlighted by Default. Tap OK.
Phone will reboot to initial setup MOTOBLUR screen.
Thank you for the quick response, but as stated in my earlier post - nothing happens when I touch the bottom right of the screen when in android recovery mode. A menu never comes up at all.
Actually, since you are on Gingerbread, after the little android guy pops up, instead of pressing on the bottom right of the screen (just above the search button), press BOTH volume buttons at the same time...trust me. ;-)
That did it! Got back in now - seems to be working. I should do this after every OS update. Thanks very much!! You have saved a phone from destruction this evening.
Dummy question: where can I find the OK button? I can only see the menu....
AFAIK, if you are running GB then there is no "OK" button, the power button becomes the select button.

Tks,
A few minutes after doing the dummy question I guessed: "the only button missing is the Power button, then that should be the OK". It worked.

Where is the hang-up button?

I noticed this the other day, but figured it was just a fluke thing......I've now made about 10 calls on my OnePlus 2 and when I'm finished with my call, I don't have a hang-up button! I have to hit the home button, then swipe down and choose "Hang Up" from the little window there. Doing this is a quite a chore because the sensors detect when the phone is by your face and shuts off the screen, so when I try to touch my screen it will shut off the screen. I eventually get it, but it sometimes takes about 30-45 seconds to end my call doing it this way.
Am I missing something? Is one of the softkeys (on the phone) now the hang up button?
u have to press the dialer keys button and it will minimize and reveal the round, red end call button. yes, kind of strange. but u can also set your power button to be an end call button i believe.

Thanks!
But, something weird just happened.... I lost my "clear all recent's" and read if you boot into safe mode, that will fix it..... So I booted into safe mode and it fixed my missing "clear all" X......But it also seemed to have changed the behavior of my dialer??!!?! Now, I have the red hang-up button that shows all the time (like it should).
So it just sounds like it's a little buggy still?
