quick snap program for camera?

i was thinking, say i see something interesting, by the time i start camera etc etc it will be gone..
is there or can someone do a quick snap program?
a click will
go to camera
focus and snap
based on pre determined settings
that will be good

Not that I've found - the camera app is what it is, and you can't get past the cutesy animated GUI.
With HD Tweak you can assign "camera" to one of the TF3D home screen soft buttons, which will launch direct into the "take picture" screen, saving you a flip and a press, but you still have to hit the shutter button.

I thought may be possible to reduce clicks required by using automation. May be wrong though
Any way camera start up time is still long even with the Rhodium ported camera app on cooked ROMs (slightly better though).

Use Dutty's rom, it has the Diamond 2 camera app in it.
The screen doesn not lag, and it is very fast!

am hoping for a see it snap it kind of program... is there no way to interface with the cam directly? any developers here pls

Take Screenshots the hidden way

I found a way to take sreenshots with the built in method.
You have to press home button and then quickly hit the back button.
And voila you have your Screenshot. They are stored in /sdcard/sreencapture.

Don't you mean hold the back key then quickly press the home button?
Been using that since last year on the leaked froyo roms.

Yea you are right its easier. I just didnt knew it before. Its easier than using shoot me.

This will only work if you have ScreenCaptureService.apk in system/app
A lot of custom roms do not have it.

Isn't it the opposite?
Holding the Back Button, then pressing the Home button?
At least that's how it works on my SGS...

I have also been using this feature since JPY (or maybe earlier) but has anyone noticed some applications action the "back" while holding the back button, so you get a screenshot of the wrong screen! Pretty irritating.... for an example, try to take a screenshot while viewing an image in gallery application - you'll get a capture of the folder you came from and not the image you're looking at. Anyone know how to get around this? *shrugs*

Im using jvk and.. hold back button plus hit home button works great.. makes a cool camera noise and everything... thanks guys...

i also got same problem with some apps when i press and hold back button they go on back screen
i am using screen shot it it works well and i can take sceenshot of almost any page

Holding back button and pressing home works like a charm thnx!
edit: exept when i try to take screenshot of a screen other then my homescreen. (it jumps back to home screen when i push the button)

^^Yep. Quite old.
For the people facing problems with the screens changing, try opening a menu in the screen you want a screenshot of. The menu will go back to the original screen and a screen shot will be taken.

flash news: It's something known since froyo appeared

Sadly still doesn't work for me... when I'm in the app list an try to take scrrenshot it goes back to homescreen and takes screenshot of that. When I open a menu in the app list it stays there when I take screenshot... think I'll have to go and get an app for this..

My newest minicm6 rom is best but it have big problems with wifi. When i go in some page wifi disappears and its all of the time.
- if some one know how to fix wifi please help.

EDIT : With camera is too problems when i press the button on the phone at the edge he's not shooting the picture.

...I don't think that the camera button is suposed to take a shot... interface try to mimic a digital camera with the shot ket on the bottom right corner...

App to screen shot long texts to print out or send?

The title is pretty self explanatory but I have long conversations that I need to print out for use in court (oh the fun of child custody battles...) and in the past I have always just screen shotted what I need, but having a convo that is 15 screenshots long doesnt seem like the easiest way to handle something like this. Has someone found an app or maybe even just a different method of taking 30 or so messages out of a text thread in your phone and printing them? Thanks in advance!

try touching the "+" when you take normaly the screenshot, on web pages it works and goes down until you want, i didn´t try with messages

Go into settings on your phone and search for advanced features. Once you are in this section look for smart capture and make sure that is switched on. Now that smart capture is enabled you should be able to see a capture more button show up after you have taken a screen shot. By clicking the capture more button it will automatically scroll down and extend the original screen shot creating one long screen shot with all the needed information you need. Keep clicking the capture more button until you have collected the information you need.

Any good way to print it now, or at least set it up so that can be easily printed by my lawyer when I send it to him? Its just one long jpg right now and if you try to print it in windows it either shrinks to print on 1 page and is unreadable, or it zooms in to where you only see maybe 1/20th of the conversation.

The only thing I can think of is split it up into a few segments and put one bit on each page. Making sure you number the pages to show which order the conversation is in

Not able to take scroll-down screenshot [anymore]

Hi.
Sooo I think the title says it all. When I take screenshots (wheter by hardware keys or palm swiping) the shot just flashes away and I no longer see those options I used to see after taking screenshots (like that scroll-capture thing or the share button). I remember using them before but they have just dissappeared. I tried restarting my phone and no it doesn't work!
Anybody else have this issue?

Make sure Smart Capture is turned on under advanced features.
