I think I'm kind of having sellers remorse, even though I sold it for $200 with it having some cosmetic damage (i'm usually very careful with my phones but i dropped my N1 like 1000 times!!)
i actually feel like I ripped off the guy even though it was in perfect working order and i threw in my extra battery and a car charger...
im gonna miss my trackball and colored notifications... PLEASE DONT LET ME REGRET THIS LG!!!
using an extremely old Nokia 5300 I had back in '07 till I get it ... yeah serious sellers remorse kicking it right now! hah

I don't think I could ever let go of my N1. I feel like it's become a part of me!
No doubt about it, sooner or later I will feel the need to upgrade. That's just the way technology works. But I always like to have a secondary device to fall back on in case of any problems - if my main device gets lost, stolen, damaged - even if it's just so much as a dead battery and I desperately need to make a call. Having a second phone can be a life saver. Plus, the Nexus One is so versatile in terms of modding. With so many ROM's to choose from, and still quite a bit of active development within the community - this phone seems far from dead. Google created an amazing piece of technology, and even when their sales strategy may have flopped, those who have had the pleasure of owning one know just how special it really is.
I recently parted ways with my aging HTC Magic which I kept as my backup device, so maybe I'm subconsciously considering an upgrade after all. There are so many options now, I wouldn't even know where to begin. G2X, Atrix, Nexus S, Evo 3D, etc... But one thing's for sure - my Nexus One is far too important to me to let go of.
I wish you the best of luck! And hey, you could always buy another used N1 if you begin having Nexus withdrawals

All plastic
Very low loudspeaker
Freezings and random reboots
not so good 8mp
Dual core still need OS 2.4, it's still 2.2
Arc:
So stylish!
way louder speaker than N1 and optimus 2x
unlockable bootloader soon
Brilliant 8mp
Exellent bravia screen
OS 2.3 out of the box
Sweet price
I am getting one next tuesday
And will get the Sensation in September

This is true, this was actually going to be the first smartphone I kept before/after buying a new one but I JUST moved and rather make my new phone free (I qualify for a full upgrade) so I can put that towards some new furniture. 200 isn't a lot, but it can get me a kitchen table!

and I am DEFINITELY not going to keep using this dumb phone any longer than I have to...

Sadly, according to the specs listed, this does not appear to support TMO's 3G.

c'mon Sony, post the CPU and GPU on the specs page, wtf?
Is the "BE" picture/video enhancements realtime or post-processing ?
Arc looks nice but "1GHz Scorpion processor, Adreno 205 GPU, Qualcomm MSM8255 Snapdragon"
sorry no thanks...
Im probably gonna get g2x because of all the bands it supports. I think it will make a great travel phone too once unlocked.
It is just the "plain old" 1GHz MSM8255 / Adreno 205. While still sufficient for most uses, it is hardly a cutting edge.
But the biggest problem in my view is the internal flash storage, just a tiny 320mb.
It should be perfect otherwise to make me want one. But it isn't.

I feel ya. I just listed my Nexus on ebay today, and I am getting the LG. Probably buying it outright for 499 so I can sell it when something else strikes me in about 8 months, however I will miss my N1 for sure. The N1 is a great phone.
Don't regret it. Going from a Nexus One to a T Mobile GX2 is a definite upgrade. You're getting a bigger screen, faster processor, better camera on the back, front facing camera, more responsive touchscreen that supports multitouch, and a faster 3G/4G radio for HSPA+, and the phone will have AT&T 3G/4G bands....you made a good choice....
I'm also considering the G2X, but probably just save up and buy it outright and keep my N1 as a backup.

You should be fine with that upgrade...keep us posted on how it did compare to your N1.
I would probably consider the G2X if it had a screen superior to my Nexus One. It may be better in every way (minus build quality I assume), but I'm a screen whore.
My next phone will probably be a Samsung one. Yes, they may be bad when it comes to updates, but they've been kicking ass with hardware. Until someone beats this, everyone has lost. Just kidding everyone~

Oddly enough I've got a N1 and a Samsung Galaxy S 4G in front of me, and the N1 has whiter whites than the Galaxy S. Everything was turned on max brightness, too. I was a bit taken back, I was expecting the galaxy S to have blown it out of the water.
The only thing that sucks hard about our N1 is the fact that the actual LED screen is a couple millimeters below the glass. This makes pinpoint clicking a bit tougher at odd angles, in addition to all the extra glare/reflection from the extra layer of space between the glass and LED.
Sorry, but as an N1, vibrant, 4g vibrant owner, Samsung has done hardware justice. The samoled is just the bomb. I just wish the updates came on time as it were.

I agree with that but they are mostly made of plastic. I still prefer HTC phones because of the aluminum unibody build and sleek design.

I own two Captivates and a Nexus One. I would not recommend switching to Samsung. I have been so dissatisfied with my Captivate that I am holding out on my upgrade and passing up the SGS2 and Skyrocket in hopes that HTC will deliver something of decent quality on ATT. I've even contemplated switching my main phone back to the Nexus One until something better arrives.
The fact that I'm still stuck on Froyo is absolutely ridiculous. If the Captivate was a low grade phone that would be one story. But the Galaxy S line was a premier lineup when it was released. If you want to feel cheated by a company, join up with Samsung.
Yes there are custom ROMs but without the release of source code they all have problems and bugs. I ran GB through Apex for a long time but eventually got tired of the phone dialer apk crashing every day. Also, some people can't use custom ROMs due to work and Android development is important to them.
I'll admit there are things I like about my Cappy: Super AMOLED screen, screen size, overall smooth performance, plenty of dev work on Samsung phones. But the lack of Android support by Samsung, the poor GPS performance with no fix, and the random shut down problems left a very bad taste in my mouth.
Not to mention, the nice feel of a sturdy metal HTC phone is miles beyond the cheap plastic feel of a Samsung phone. Just trying to give my 2 cents. I'd be glad to share any of my experiences in as much of a non biased way as I can.

i have had great luck with the tmo sgs2. it's build quality, though plastic, it quite good.
imho
Yeah, I'm waiting for a good HTC phone to come out to replace my N1. I can't stand the plasticy feel of the SGII or the Galaxy Nexus.
Hopefully, we'll see something good from HTC during CES next week. I've heard rumors of a quad-core HTC phone. Let's hope so.
I had the Samsung Galaxy S II LTE from Rogers and the phone felt so plasticky. There's nothing appealing about Samsung devices. Their RF and call quality are poor. I ended up getting the HTC Amaze and I have no regrets. The build quality on the Amaze trumps any Samsung. Call quality & RF is much better. I'm hoping HTC will announce the rumored HTC Edge quad-core next week. It's too bad Google switched to Samsung to make their devices. I'm not impressed with the build quality of the Galaxy Nexus. It feels plasticky. I prefer the solid feel of a device even if it weighs more.
I will at least concede that the plastic was sturdier than I thought. I've had my Captivate since July 2010 and it has survived some big falls and hits. However, the lack of support from Samsung is just too much for me to overcome.

I've seen some rumors that would point to this as well but I have a feeling it will still be a plastic styled phone. It wasn't until late December when HTC announced they were going to change their focus in 2012 to produce better quality builds and get away from the cheap feeling phones. I find it hard to believe they would wait so long for that announcement and then have a non-plastic phone at CES.
But who knows...if they do, I will be excited. I just sold my Nexus One today and it hurt a little inside. Such a good phone with a great feel and quality build. Would love to have another HTC in my pocket to replace the Samsung.
HTC vs. Samsung
body vs. screen
looks vs. graphics performance
I'm waiting for the coming wave. The OG Droid opened the doors for the 2010 wave, but the N1 was the best buy two years ago because it was the first that could stand in line with the new wave of superphones (1 GHz, OLED, etc.). The GN may have started the new wave of 2012, but it's not gonna stand with the rest of the quad-cores (and it's missing external storage?!??!).
I'm still waiting. Next wave is a new day for competition between HTC and Samsung. I'm excited.

Agreed, Tegra 3 phones may start the new wave with the 5th low power core. Seems fairly revolutionary to me.
A friend has a galaxy note and loves it. The fonts are larger on the home screen for vision impaired. This week is CES so maybe HTC will have some surprises.

NEVER! Their phones are made of cheap plastic. After spending so much on a phone, you atleast would like to get a good feel of the phone....not like the ones samsung makes.
HTC Rocks....All time!!! They know how to make phones.
I switched from my much loved N1 to the Galaxy Nexus, and I'm pleasantly surprised! There are things about the GN I don't care for, but I can't see me switching back...

Can you elaborate?
Specifically, does it fit in your pocket? front pant's pocket? (trousers )
Which case do you use?
Thanks
I don't use a case, and it fits in my pocket perfectly. In fact, I had an issue with the N1 falling horizontal in my pocket, which was uncomfortable - I no longer have that issue.
Build quality looks great, though I do love the N1 more. Feel is much better on the GN, much more responsive, and smooth - but then again, what would you expect for the specs?
The LED notifications aren't as cool as the N1, and the lack of trackball can be a pain...
tried the gn at verizon as i am only a year into 2 year tmo contract, can't buy
loved size and text reading
build seemed ok, not as good as n1--but it was strapped down
8-13 mb dl's on speedteast
no smoother than n1 ics rom i am on--imho
faster webbrowsing--but seemed no faster than my wifi which clocks in at 4-5mb
didn't like menu buttons
when scrolling there is a jitter and out of focus look, then it refocuses
will look at sgsII at tmo, but will, with contract restrictions, probably be looking at quads
It's certainly not way ahead of the pack, like the N1 was when it was released (and for a long time afterwards)...
People are reporting 10 - 15 mb downloads on 4g, but it never get anything like that in this area (with 5 different phones)
I recommend you ditch the contract with T-Mo if you can. No contact options are about $20 a month less than contact, which is $480 over the 2 year duration. Just a suggestion...
thanks DR
I have 3 phones on the contract, may not be financially smart atm
will look into it--was hoping for tmo to pick it up--like the speed and large text
do you have the scroll jitter and focus issue I described, may be normal
was looking at new blaze coming to tmo also--42mb phone
http://wirelessandmobilenews.com/2012/01/samsung-galaxy-blaze-4g-hd-spec-revealed-nexus-hd.html
but as you know, the n1 seems ageless with running ics now--tough choices
Alright, we all know what the drill is. i dropped my TITAN II and now i can't wait to get a replacement for it. I have been buying the flagship device of each wave of Windows Phone from HTC so i think i can try something new as well.
I know you probably thinking "This is another bullsh!t thread that as for the opinion and will end between a post or 2" , but please help me out here.
Coming down to the 920 vs 8X, a lot of poles has been made and look like the flavor goes to the 920. But i think i should take it from my own opinion, not just critic and others people thoughts.
1. Carrier : Not a big deal, i am on AT&T , GoPhone service to be specific, but i do travel international sometime. 8X get a little advantage here , but it is not hard to get an unlocked code for the Lumia either.
2. Storage: Personally, 16GB is enough for me, 32GB is nice but not a MUST.
3. Color : I don't give a sh!t, flat black is what i am getting either one of them.
4. Screen Size : A mix. I started with the HD2 4.3", and HD7 with 4.3" as well before i went full 2 years with 4.7" (HTC TITAN and TITAN II). 4.5 might be a smaller drop from 4.7" but 4.3 is not too bad either.
5. Camera : I am no photographer but sometime do demand some nice and clean shots. There are a lot of mixed review for the PureView Technology on the Lumia , as well as a lot of review said the 8X Camera is somewhat equal or worse than the One X. <= I don't really know, you guys help me here.
6. Battery : Both Non-Removable (Pain in the ass for sure), the Lumia is slightly higher but the usage is kind of the same as the 8X according to some reviews (due to the larger screen).
7. Performance : Both phones are matched...
8. Audio performance: *In the Dust*, i don't trust whatever Beats made and i am questioning the Dolby effect from Nokia too. I own myself a pretty good earbuds as well as some decent headphones.
9. Support: Unclear. Microsoft has been revealed about the way they update the phone is OTA (over-the-air), suspecting to by-pass carrier testing (which takes forever). if not, the World Version of 8X wins hand down.
10. Price : The No-Contract AT&T Locked Lumia stock at $450, the World-Unlocked version can rank up to $800, which not reasonable. the World Version of 8X is around $550-$600 right now, which is affordable for me.
...
11. History: The history really back HTC up for me. Although they said Windows Phone 8 won't even have a chance to have Custom ROM but who knows? Unless i hear it myself from the DFT. And the history of World Phone HTC really back the opinion up. HTC phones usually get the Custom ROM/ HSPL first.
They seem to be so evenly matched to me. Lose some and win some at both phones. Please let me know your opinion. Thanks.
For the Camera - it will depend on the situations in which you mainly take photos. For me it is quite often at parties or otherwise in the evenings which IS a situation in which the PureView actually performs better then anything else out there at the moment. If it's mainly well lit shots at least until Nokia tweaks the software it seems we'll see pretty similar performance.
For Sound we have not really seen any measurements of the devices yet but given that Dolby and Beats are on board I believe it should be safe to assume that both devices should at least offer decent quality with optimizations turned off (I tend to believe that's the way to listen to music the way the artists intended because that is why they recorded it that way).
On Support I actually disagree with you - Nokia has been a lot more active when it comes to Firmware Updates and additionally has continuously worked on getting exclusive Apps and other improvements to their phones. I don't see that changing anytime soon. Even if the current Apps don't offer you an advantage yet the next one might - meanwhile we've seen HTC not doing much in that regard.
Weight has been mentioned by some as a criterion to decide between the 8X and the 920 - it might be an issue for you but the additional 20 g over the Titan 1 don't strike me as that big a problem.

On the support side, i was mentioning about the Firmware Update (not necessary apps from the OEM). Do they push that without confirmation/testing from AT&T?
HTC also rolls out like almost monthly firmware and ROM upgrade when i still got my World TITAN, but that does not apply with the AT&T version.
I have the HTC and I love it. I've heard from someone who owned both Nokia and HTC (someone at MS) He said he liked the Nokia as a daily driver because of the bigger screen and said that it had better battery life, but liked to use the HTC whenever he went for a run or something of that nature because of it being so slim and light.
-HTC has a lower screen resolution but a higher PPI
-Nokia has a MUCH nicer main camera IMO, however the wide angle front facing on the HTC is really nice as well.
-HTC told me that the 8X would be just as loud as the Surround that I had before, however I didn't really find this to be true, the built in speakers are definitely good enough though. I haven't done a sound test on a Nokia.
I did get an OTA update already however it was really small 1MB<. Someone from Microsoft was telling me that they will have a program that will allow you to receive updates directly from them (kinda like the Nexus) but I wasn't clear on when that was happening (or if it had already happened)
If I had a choice between the two (The 8X was given to me) I would have gotten the Nokia.
Hope that helped at all!

- Do you have more info about the OTA Update for the phone? Are you using the 8X AT&T Version or the World Unlocked Version? Thanks!
PS: it is just still my main concern about the update progress. I have own both AT&T HTC TITAN and TITAN II and i know AT&T is an a$$hole in pushing the update out for the device. It is a deal-breaker for me as a power user and a dev also.

Well Microsoft did say there would be an "enthusiast program", essentially a way for someone who wants updates as soon as possible, to get them, regardless of carrier/phone. Of course until more details about this program are given, we have no idea if it supports all phones or carriers or what restrictions or what not, but I'm inclined to believe that this program should help solve the "where is my update?" issue.
Otherwise, I still think the Lumia 920 is the better choice overall. They are both great phones, but the Lumia 920 just has more going for it, not to mention Nokia's undying support of Windows Phone and their devices. In the short time they've been with Windows phone, they've impressed me with their support and dedication to the platform, more so than HTC has in the past 10-or-so years.
I'll tell ya how the 920 is when I get it today~
Go with the 920!!!
Better camera, better wireless charging, better quality ( NOKIAS are like a Tonka ), more memory and exclusive APPS AND GPS.
My HTC 8x is att branded but it came unlocked so Im not sure where it will be pulling its updates from.
If build quality is a concern, I dropped my htc last night and the screen cracked. It wasn't a big fall either (was laying in my lap and I got up so it fell). Fortunately for me however Im getting it fixed through HTC for free
Hopefully the enthusiast program will be coming out shortly, I really wished I had asked for a time table when the guy was talking to me about that.

Well, my bro prjkthack just got the 920, i am going to wait for the "go" code from him...
it has been a minus from the 8X for me because i actually saw a review from Engadget today and see the 8X is much more smaller than the TITAN II, much smaller than i thought and i also notice that the bezel on the top of the phone is a lot more than i expected...
Unless i can hand it somewhere for myself, i will have to pass HTC Flagship this wave. The HTC Zenith has been DOA for this wave...

Yeah that's a good idea. Everything is going to be much small than the Titan lol. If it were me I'd go with the Nokia too, so good choice.
I'd pick the lumia 920. Only be wise if you're goma use your camera alot, especially at night, the 920 will win there in low lighting. Plus you get double the storage at a cheaper price point. The weight isn't as bad as people have made it seem and the Nokia screen is better for watching videos on. It is sharper than the Titan2's screen, and you know personally how good that screen is...

Thanks guys.
I snatched a 920 today, AT&T version, little bit high off bore for the Without contract, from AT&T, Cyan.
To be exactly, this would be my first time using a flag-ship not from HTC for Windows Phone series... let's see how it goes...
I will wait and see what would HTC bring to the table with the HTC Zenith for the 2nd Wave...
But look like i change phone yearly, lol.

Good call. Enjoy the 920. Especially when Nokia releases that software tweak to improve the camera in daylight conditions. I am a big HTC fan and it does take some time to get used to a non HTC WP flagship, but as it stands, the 920 is the most premium mix of tech out for gen 1 WP 8.
I think HTC did the right thing by holding off a big screen WP 8. They need a quad core monster in WP 8 to sell. Hopefully it will come out with the Adreno 320 GPU. That would be a killer device in WP for 2013, especially with a 4.7" screen...

Haha, sure man. I will do a review as i used to do with the TITAN vs the HD7. HTC sure as hell did a right thing with the HTC TITAN (4.7 inch + metal body), they need to keep doing that.
I have been teased from the boys on the Design Department that they are working on some sort of "TITAN III" , although i am not allowed to dig deeper on that. I have been waiting for that but seem it is DOA for the 1st Wave, and i believe the 2nd Wave won't hit until next holiday season, so i think i will bite the bullet and take Nokia for a ride.
Basically, sure the Software on both Device gonna be awesome, the main concern is how the Nokia behave, which i don't have any clue yet. But time will tell.
Thanks for the advice. :good:

Cannot wait for that review. I picked up a Titan for repairs for a friend as a favor and just may end up sending him my Focus S instead and keeping the Titan as a spare.... I too am looking to jump on the Lumia bandwagon, but will go with the 810 since I'm in T.Mobile. Rest assurance if HTC puts out a nicely designed quad core 4.7"+ monster with WP8 in Gen 2, I will switch back...

Did they give you a sim card in the box? If they did I'd just have them activate that card and then you just get an adapter to use in any spare phones using regular SIM...

HTC one was the best mobile phone in 2013 , and no one can say otherwise
HTC introduced to the industry 3 majors features in the HTC one , that definitely other phone manufacturer will be using in there future phones.
First : All metal design
Second : boomsound
Third : ultrapixel , and that more megapixels doesn't mean better pictures
Samsung is rumored to enter its new phase in phone design , and begin using all metal bodies
The highly praised speakers of the HTC one , could be a sign of competitors start using similar design or start to develop its own technology to compete in this area.
What I want us to discuss is HTC going to use this three things again in there next gen device ( 2014 ) , or introduce something new .
They are facing a hard job , they must introduce a better device , with new features , that will make it differ from the HTC one , while making the most loved features in the one not to be missed
I want a S800 tablet that isn't made by Samsung.

This isn't necessarily product related (well it is) but I want then to release all colour variants of the same phone at the same time or close to same time. If they can't release it around the same time as the device launch then they should at least say they are working on whatever color variant and it will be available in the future.
I really wish I had said to buy the red HTC one.

The main job of HTC now isn't new features .. but rather built quality and more testing b4 rolling out the devices ... For example the HTC One .. Design is good but u have to be super lucky to not get a faulty device from the first time ... Either dust under the screen .. or volume rockers are too loose ... Or there are gaps between the aluminum and the plastic .. or hardware problems .. or or or ... And secondly their customer service .. if they go and work on those 2 factors .. I don't find any trouble seeing them leading the smartphone market for a long time !!
I wish if they make an 8 megapixel ultrapixel camera .. I like the performance of my HTC One's camera a lot, best camera phone I ever used, but you know .. sometimes we need to zoom ..
There next big thing might be declaring bankruptcy .....

Unfortunately this may be true, though maybe not immediately. They do have their share of problems and being up against a juggernaut like Samsung is not the least of them. However, the smartphone market is fickle and one or two consistent good products (supported by great marketing) is all it might take for them to make a turnaround.
Anyways, as far as the device itself goes I'd only like them to sort out quality control issues for whatever they put out next.
the only thing they should focus on is MARKETING!

I think HTC has some potential for marketing. For example the HD-Microfone. A Feature that I won't miss anymore. Best audioquality on a handycam I ever had. But nobody mention this , even not the reviews.
Evenmore they can improve with there own software. For example: Nice to select music for highlightvideos, but why can't I choose whitch part of music?
Or maybe implement a feature like chathead.... Or multiwindow....
My wishes for hardware. Sdcard slot... Really.... All other high-end phones have this feature. Even my old DHD had this feature....
Maybe work on the ultrapixelcam. 6 to 8 megapixel would be nice.

The chasis & dimension of the One imo are fine, build quaility issues mentioned by Hiken_Ace aside(these should be fixed as they make more phones of that design, AndroidCentral claim the Blue Ones don't have much issue).
Things I want for the HTC One successor(hardware changes like S800+LPDDR3 are inevitable anyway):
Thinner bezel
Three Button layout
The buttons become on-screen thus increasing the screen size
More Pixel in the Ultrapixel Camera, 6-8MP. The Zoom & Daylight performance still leaves something to be desired.

Because focusing on making the best device possible is overrated /s
I would love to see HTC employ metal removable backs like they have done in the Chinese and Indian dual SIM variants, nice to have a removable battery, storage wise 32gb-64gb is more than enough, external micro sd cards slow devices down, and then people will blame the phone even though they have a low class sd card, removable storage isn't a necessity any more, more of a niche thing. With the removable metal back cover, one has the option of replacing the back if it falls victim to dents and scratches, I know I would definitely love to use this phone without a case, but I don't want to get stuck with dents and scratches for the remainder of the life of the phone, hence forced to use the case (however I do remove the cases off my phones 6 months prior to upgrading). Remove the capacitive buttons, give us an edge to edge screen within the same frame, and if no removable battery, then squeeze in at least a 3000 mAh battery, I'm sure it can be done, the droid maxx did it and it's no phablet.

In some ways it is. The key point is that Samsung outspends HTC by a ratio of 10:1 in marketing. With such carpet bombing of advertising and in models, over the last 2+ years, Samsung has rocketed up to prominence. Because of the quality of their phones? Hardly. They make some very good phones (although not to my taste) but that is in my opinion just a relatively small reason for their success. If the HTC One had come out say with an 8 mp ultrapixel shooter and none of these QC issues (which only a very small minority - like people on this forum - would notice) the phone would have sold a bit more but nothing remotely to compare with the S4 and other Samsung models. As the marketing types like to call it, mindshare is what Samsung has.
When the "average" smartphone buyer goes into a store, the first phone most of them think of is a Samsung (other than an iPhone) and Samsung is aided and abetted by the sales staff there who get plenty of incentives, both from Samsung and from the stores themselves, to push their brand.

For the sake of argument let's give HTC credit for building the "best device;" at least until the slew of 4.7/5" S-800 phones come out. This is what it has done for them. And while HTC's YOY sales have dropped with the One as their flagship smartphone sales increased 31% in Q2 2013.
+1 for going back to the 3 button layout that the One X had. Why is it that HTC drop the number of buttons then have to multifunction the ones that are left? Ultimately I would like to see the next release separating Android from the Sense skin. I like the uni body construction, maybe they could make it water resistant like the Xperia.

If they can fit more of the same sized pixels in the next phone, that would be awesome. Keep the speakers and keep whatever the new high end processor is out there.
Talk to reps at your carriers, specially T-Mobile. Many do not even sell HTC one and focus on s4, iPhone 5 and Xperia sometimes. Is it because they think HTC one is crap? Yes! Is it crap? No, I love mine. I have not been happier with a device in ages. I love sense 5, used to hate it.
So why do people who sell phones hate them? Simple, previous versions. Every HTC release in the US had good marketing and good sales, yet a ton of software and hardware issues. From HTC sensation to evo 4g to evo 4g lte to HTC one s. I think people who have been working in retail are over HTC due to the problems theyvr encountered first hand. Shame, as we know how good HTC one is, how if blows s4 out of the water with overall user experience and smoothness.

The company is facing a hard time because HTC one is not selling much worldwide despite being the best phone in the market ,, and the one mini ain't doing good also ,, unless the two new windows phone sells a lot we are looking to another Nokia ... But this time it's happening with the company who introduced android in mobile phones
And what Samsung have and HTC don't is applications where is HTC applications for god sake ... few applications and they are very modest comparing to Samsung not to mention Sony and they are doing very good btw
Not even ironman can boost marketing not when the ship is sinking

hated almost everything in it.
Im using PA. Even tho its beta and still missing most of the PA goods, its an awesome rom.
However, if you are one of the guys who dont like using a not-so-stable rom or possibily having compatibily issues...yeah...the G3 could ruin your day...

Do not forget that G2 mini is expected to be launched @ MWC next month. It will have 4,7" screen. And I think probably in august on IFA 2014 there will be launched G3 mini, 5" or 5,2", maybe it'll be G2 clone with G3 iron in it (like 16Mpix camera, 64Gb or 128Gb flash etc)
Will you ditch G2 if G3 Mini will got 128Gb flash storage? THAT is the question

I have my doubts about how much of an upgrade the G3 will be.
My thoughts on the following:
QHD - I seriously think this is more of a gimmick than anything useful in real life. Prior to owning a G2, I had an iPhone 4. As you know, the iPhone 4 has a ppi of 326 and this G2 has a ppi of 424. Difference? I can't see it. Both screens are awesome. I wouldn't be able to live with something that didn't have a retina resolution at normal viewing range.
Processor: LG's own ODIN processor sounds great, but if the launch really is this near, I think they will put a Snapdragon 805 into the phone rather than their own. Snapdragon 805 is sick and improved in comparison with the 800, but most changes are made towards the GPU and RAM read speeds. I like playing on my phone but as long as the processor still is based on a 28 nm architecture, expect faster battery drains and more frequent thermal throttling, assuming this isn't fixed either with hardware (such as passive cooling) or software (less aggressive thermal throttling).
Size: It was mentioned here, 5.2 is stretching it a bit, and 5.5 is probably too much.
Build quality: Here is where the G3 can excel. If they make it a premium smartphone with regards to the build quality, then it's a major update. Don't bother with glossy plastic - EVER - again. I assume they learnt that since they now are selling the G2 LE. If the build quality is premium, expect a premium price.
Meh, maybe I'm just jealous.
Ahh...figured this would happen soon. I'm starting to get tired of the over saturation of Android devices...but I guess that's how they stay in the mobile business. Not every company can afford to be like Apple and release a New phone once a year. In the end, its the existing customers that gets screwed. (More focus and support for newer devices and less for existing).

I doubt LG will build their phone from metal. It will be plastic, or ceramic in plastic. Sometime they'll even make plastic armed with ceramic, probably. LG own their LG Chem so they won't tickle with metal. Their plastic is durable, sturdy, firm, and nice in feel. Also when it's -25°C the metal cools fast but plastic stays warm to one's hands. We live all over the world you know
If back is too glossy one can even wrap it in carbon or silicon coating with different funny prints

Especially as phone contracts are getting longer, tying you to the phone for 2 years!! (at least this is the case in the UK!)

5.5" is a great size for me. It shouldn't be a mainstream size though and I still consider it phablet size, but if it becomes mainstream that means there are more choices and better/newer hardware for people like me who want bigger screens, to the detriment of those who want smaller ones of course.
They need to remove the back buttons and go back to normal ones. Even after seasoned use, I still find it difficult to press and it takes extra time and prone to error. A button on the side is so much easier and no nonsense. You can feel it easily, don't risk dropping the phone like I always do trying to find the back button, and can be easily pressed by either hand with different fingers. The knock knock feature is poorly implemented and doesn't work half the time.
Like others have mentioned, the build quality needs to be drastically improved. It's still a cheap plastic device, and very slippery and hard to hold, moreso than the Galaxy S4 and many other phones. I had to put a case on mine since it had very little surface area to hold and was very slippery even when fully degreased. Why make it thin if you have to put a case on it anyway? The hyperglaze coating on the Samsungs is much grippier.
Anyway, everyone is starting from scratch in 2014 for phone designs and premium materials so LG G2 needs to do the same. iPhone 6 will have totally new design since its about time and Tim Cook needs to prove himself. Galaxy S5 will have guaranteed new design as the Samsung execs have said, because the S4 underperformed because it looked the same as the S3. Moto X is very premium plastic unibody. HTC of course going back to the metal of the One. And a whole slew of Chinese manufacturers with steel frames or metal covers that put the bland LG G2 plastic design and materials to shame. I can't tell which side is up and which side is down most of the time when using my phone at a glance, since it all looks the same to me, unless I look specifically for the LG logo. Then I have to momentarily remember if its suppose to be on top or on bottom. I can orient the phone instantly in my pocket when I feel the power button on the side, which is another reason why LG needs to go back to regular buttons.
And yes, either put a better OIS on your next camera, or stop using it so aggressively, as I may be going back to Samsung if they have the better camera, and the camera is the main deciding factor for me. I am counting on LG to give Samsung some competition, as honestly even though there are a lot of Android phones, there are very few large name brands in the high end area. I can count them on one hand. Samsung, LG, HTC...and that's it. Motorola is clearly in midrange right now. Sony barely shows up in the US. Ditto to all the other companies and Chinese ones, which don't have the track record LG has and has lower standards for phone quality, even if the phones may look nice from the outside.
Already?
Wow... I'm really shocked they're releasing the g3 already... A little early perhaps? Either way, I think I'll be more than happy with my G2 for quite some time.
