Firstly, thanks for the advise....How do I wipe data + cache?
In the recovery choose "wipe data/factory reset", after that choose "Wipe cache partition". You should also wipe dalvik cache, go to "advanced" and choose "wipe dalvik cache"

That worked like a Charm....Thanks so much skifyr.
The only minor glitch is that i had this app called APNdroid which worked on the stock froyo rom, and even after multiple reinstalls on oxygen it still comes up with the force close error. If you have any tips about this.. please let me know

i have flashed this Rom (thanks ti tyween) over a different Rom i used before, i followed ROM or Kernel-UpdateROM instruction, everything works fine except i keep getting "Sorry! The process com.android.phone has stopped unexpectedly..please try again." jump continuously on myscreen
Hope somebody help me out thank U!!!
First off did you do a full wipe of all your partitions cache, boot, data, system, and then to advanced and wipe delvike cache before flashing your new ROM?
Also did you do at least two soft resets after flashing your new ROM?
As posted above, if you have not done so I would suggest a full wipe and re-flash. Sounds like something went wrong during the flash, or your partitions are wrong.
I've had this problem before, so again, full wipe and re-flash according to the instructions by the dev and let us know.

Try the "Wipe data/factory reset" option and the other options you listed before and then reflash the ROM. Then report back.

Hi there,
My question is related to Clemsyn's kernel. Part of the instructions for this kernel states "Please create a backup, then install kernel, then clear Dalvik-cache, the Wipe Cache partition." My question is how do u "clear Dalvik-cache, the Wipe Cache partition"?
THanks!
When in cwm you will see an option to "wipe cache partition" select it. Then go to "advanced" and you will see "wipe dalvik cache" select that and then reboot.

Was just wanting to know that waht are the steps to be taken when changing a rom,
1. Wipe data/factory reset
2. Wipe cache
and do we even have to wipe DALVIKI cache???
do we have to do all the above three processes???
please help...
It's better to wipe the dalvik cache too.
Yes, and as a Precaution, I wipe /system too under "Advanced". BTW, if you are using a new version of Clockworkmod (3.0.2.4 or newer), it includes a "Wipe All (Dangerous)", which does all required for a fresh install, with just one click.
I want to clean and delete all data on my a500, just like when it comes from the store.
My tablet is rooted, do you advice me to wipe it by going to the menu settings, or should i do it in CWM?
In CWM what option do i use?
Thanks!
Learn how to flash a new rom on it. Google xda , find your device and look in android development for your device

Hello there. I usually follow the instructions in the install page for Virtuous Picasso. Just google "How to Install Virtuous Picasso ROM on Acer Iconia A500." It goes over how to install the custom ROM, but the pre-work is very detailed. The only thing missing in there is that you could/should also wipe the battery stats. It's in the Advanced menu under the "Wipe Dalvik Cache" option. I hope this helps.
use CWM, boot into recovery mode, then wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache partition, go to advanced: wipe Dalvik cache, wipe battery status, & don't forget to wipe your behind
Hey guys,
I used to have AOKP [v2.0] Build 31 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1542302) and it flashed fine. Then today I checked again and saw Build 32 was out. So I thought I'd flash that.
I do the usual method, back up, format cache, format Dalvik Cache, then data/factory then flashed Build 32.
So when the tablet restarts it still has all my previous applications and setting also lots of apps started to force close.
So I went back to recovery and decided to do the usual again but this time restore the back up I created.
When this backup gets to 'restoring data' is says invalid and stops.
So this time I try to flash 'Android Revolution HD 3.2.0' (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1245892) doing a Super Full Wipe.
Booted into it fine however my apps are still there.
Now I can't seem to go back to AKOP Build 31 nor get rid of any apps, it just force closes.
How can I resolve this issue? I've been stuck at it for hours
In CWM, go to "Mounts and Storage" options and do /mount and /format for data, system, and cache. Clear dalvik-cache and flash AOKP.
