last week my phone start randoms reboots when i play.
i start to play and after 5 min he reboot.
can some one help me?
what is your overclock speed?
and if your using doom kernel flash the 1,6ghz one.
i flash doomkernel 1.6Ghz but its stil stuck and i need to pull of the battery.
what i can do ?
Happens if you are running short of memory, often happens when you run too many apps at once.. Since you are using a custom rom, must be because of over or under clocking profiles you kept

Do you have setcpu or a OC kernal by any chance?
I am having this happen also... I have had to remove my battery three times today to reboot the phone.
I have set CPU installed, is that a bad idea?
I'm rooted with just the stock OS, no mods at all and my phone will randomly reboot every two or three days.

Mine has the new rom the leaked one and does this so often like after every 2-3 songs. Did it with the stock rom too.

No, I'm rooted with straight stock. No set CPU or anything of that nature. But like I said even then ill get complete freezes and then a reboot. Or occasionally ill attempt to open an app and the phone will reboot!!

did you wipe your SD cards when you flashed the new rom? I don't have this behavior but I did have FC's and such because of some files on the SD. I have NONE of this behavior. Something is wrong for you, nothing is wrong with JI2 and freezing/rebooting.

I used to have this problem all the time too whenever I tried to use the gps, but since I've applied the leaked update that problem has gone away. But it seems like you're experiencing the issue at more random times. Have you noticed any particular pattern? For example, whenever you try to play music in the background and read a website at the same time.

Yup mine is bone stock not Rooted and it will lock up just siting there GPS, wireless and Bluetooth off in a very good signal area.
Same here on both roms. I thought the lag fix was causing the freeze. But now im stock jit2 and root.
Had the same with gps and maps with old firmware.

NO set cpu or anything
I haven't had this issue happen since I applied the flashable gps fix. Maybe it was an issue with an app that wanted to use GPS running in the background?
This has happened to me several times while booting gps and only recently started happening while playing pandora, but not as frequent as while using the gps...not rooted

Mine has only frozen up once and it was at the end of a call screen turned off. I hit power and went to go unlock and it turned off again.. Would not turn back on but I know the phone was still on since I had apmobile enabled and it was still transmitting wifi connection. Oh I was using eugene's FrankenTwiz (underclocked to 400mhz)when it happened but same thing happened to my girlfriend and she had hybrid r3. Other than phone runs fine.
Ive had some odd reboots where I dont get a shutdown or boot animation or sounds, just freezes, goes black, keys light up, searching for signal boot process. Yesterday in maps trying to troubleshoot my gps. Stock rom, rooted, Ryan's lagfix.
Vibrant vibrating nicely now,Kthx!
Have the phone replaced. I had a phone that would randomly freeze and/or reboot. Nothing I did would fix it.
I talked to a T-mobile worker who had the same issue with one of the early demo-phones Samsung loaned to him. They just replaced his without every saying what the problem was.
I've been having this happen a lot lately myself, it happened to me before on stock ROM due to SetCPU, but now on the leaked ROM. I did not clean the SD card (internal or external), so will give that a shot when I have some time to copy files on/off the SD cards (one reason to dislike the internal SD is that I have to mount it to copy the files, ergh).
I've experimented a little with overclocking and for some reason no matter what I set it to my phone will randomly reboot or shut off. Its getting very annoying. I don't usually preset anything. I'll keep it at like 1.3ghz or 1.25ghz. It even reboots at like 1.1 low voltage...

Every phone is different. I can custom set to 1.375 and run fine. But anything over and it goes into snail mode. Only have resets at below 900...try medium voltage which are set close to stock steps....may work better.

Hi Guys.
could you please send me your 1.3 and / or 1.375 kernel to give it a try on my milestone 2?
There's a guide on the development forum make sure you fine the correct file for your device.
thanks HerroMoto. Going checkin now.
The delay between pressing the power or home key, and the screen coming on is a little frustrating. I will be rooting my sgs2 this weekend but was wondering, after I root and install setcpu, and change the frequency, will the lock screen lag disappear? I've read that the current delay is due to the way the cpu is currently clocked? Can anybody help? Thanks

Just tested this, yep setting the cpu speed higher does make it faster

It's a little weird that I have to overclock a dual core 1.2 GHZ phone so that it can be instantly unlocked. The delay is pretty big when unlocking especially...

Because after being idle for sometime, the SGS2 will downclock to 200MHz (lowest). Use setCPU to increase the lowest possible clockspeed seems 200MHz so abit slow for waking up.
The underclock is a pain because it lags the turning on slightly...but it saves battery life, so I my eyes, it's a winner
mine is instantly here when pressing home or power button...
i am rooted and the overclock kernel is patched but set to default 200-1200MHz

Bought Setcpu, set min to 500 ...still lags on unlock. Set min to 800 ...same problem..
I applied this this and suddenly noticed that the delay is gone, the screen comes on immediately. It is also noticeably quicker to unlock. I'm guessing that the delay is caused by the animation effect Samsung used for screen on/off and that changing it to the stock android approach (Immediate on and crt off) that it now appears snappier. It's not a perfect solution but I'm sure a dev could take a look and see if they could remove the wake up lag while keeping the stock battery/screen off animation if people wanted.
hello guys....
have tried softlocker free, it seems
just that it works, I'm testing, but I check battery power ... sorry for my English

With softlocker is instant but drain double or more battery in standby...so it isn't a solution for me:-(

Have you confirmed this at all? Because when i test it, the battery seems to be more or less the same.
Its true that softlocker keeps the phone alive, but it is still downclocking somehow. Im not sure how it works, but the battery is still decent.
Wanted to test this, but cant read detailed battery drain from the Samsung driver.

i tried using widgetlocker (v1.2.4) and the delay is gone. now my screen powers on in an instant even when not connected to a charger, even if the screen has been off for more than 15minutes.
my rom is Lite'ning Rom v6.1 (if this info helps...)
Update: i reflashed lite'ning rom after trying other roms. but the lag came back. i don't know what i did before to fix it. i can only remember that with all my apps installed with lite'ning rom and using it for 2 days, i just installed widgetlocker and the lag was gone. But now i can't restore it
I am running faux's newest kernel on my att atrix, Allen build 4. I've noticed that upon cold reboot, the frequency scales correctly. after a while however, the phone stays at the max frequency. I've tried stopping running archives that I thought might be causing this, hit it doesn't help. Is it the kernel?

That's what I thought originally, but after killing all the apps that were running, it still stayed at the frequency.
I have a hypothesis, and i'm going to test it in a second. I think that when I plug my phone into my laptop dock, it for some reason locks the frequency at max.
EDIT: It's the webtop mode. If I plug the phone into my laptop dock, and open the laptop, the frequency is locked at maximum frequency. I'm going to flash the stock kernel again, and see what happens next.
EDIT2: So it's definitely faux's newest kernel. It might just be me, but it definitely is locking to max frequency. Stock does not have this problem.

I have seen the same behaviour. Just got my HD Dock yesterday. When I pulled it out it was warm/hot. I thought it was just the clock/screen using power or whatever. Then I opened SetCPU while in the dock and it showed a constant 1000Mhz. When I unplug it still shows that frequency. Too bad

I think this is a known issue with faux's new kernel. When you place the phone into a laptop dock it clocks the CPU at max until a reset. I guess the same thing happens with any dock

i have recently made a decision to delete the set cpu and install cpu masters from the market ,i think so for after 24 hours i think it does make a difference um
i notice lower temps even after an hour of useing the webtop or just an average temp overall i am useing the faux 2.0 kernal 1.3 oc but its set at 1.2
my profiles are screen off 456 max-216-min
the rest are 1200max 216-min

I don't have a dock but I just installed _unknown's hdmi/webtop mod while running faux's enhanced stock 0.2.0. Noticed my phone was really hot after trying it out, even with the screen off and noticed a constant 1000 max. in setCPU.
Cleared my cache & dalvik, reinstalled kernel, jugg's battery fix, cleared my battery stats, rebooted into recovery (figured it wouldn't hurt since it defaulted to that option), then fixed permissions and restarted. Everything seems to be back to normal.
Will see what happens when I run the webtop again and report back later. Currently CPU is showing 36C and battery is at 32C. Are these acceptable temps?
What are your temperatures when using your phone and battery temo. Specify your temps. Thanks.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using XDA Free mobile app
I don't have exact temps but generally under 30, which is comparable to my high end PC. This is on idle or just using it normally.
I remember when I was playing gta vice city and the device was almost too hot to use comfortably.
Sent from my SGH-I337M using XDA Free mobile app
Mine used to.
Workaround (you may try)
1. Flasha custom kernrl
2. Download Kernel Tuner root
3. Stop 1 or 2 cores and underclock your kernel to 250-1200 min max via kernel tuner root.
4. Never face the heating issue.
"If someone helps, never forget to hit thanks ? "
When using AEL kernels my heating used to get to 60 degrees and sometimes over. using googymax kernels I've never ever seen more than about 45 degrees.
Edit:- sorry should mention they are CPU temperatures.
Edit2:- my current rom is carHDrom v33 googymax 1.1.9
