Hello People,
Firstly I would like to apologize if this is a duplicate post, Googling reveals tons of different documents which actually has confused me and as I have tried many, I don't even know now what have I screwed up.
Phone - U8800H
OS - Linux
I tried to update my phone and it got messed up. It simply won't boot but go in an infinite loop or restarting every 3 seconds (once the HUAWEI logo is displayed).
By pressing both Vol buttons and starting the phone I can go into bootloader mode (pink screen) and the phone drives get mounted. However trying to go to recover mode by pressing the Vol UP key during start up simply again keeps restarting the phone.
I have tried various solutions which include re-downloading the images folder files again, replacing the recover.img from clockwork, formatting that partition and retrying, almost everything.
The phone simply keeps restarting. Replacing or removing any of the file in the images folder gives me a blue screen during going to bootloader mode.
As I cant get to recover mode I don't know what to do.
The warranty of the phone is finished as it was only of three months. I was told by the company I purchased it from to be a "power problem" but I think its a software problem as I messed it up myself.
If anyone has faced such situation before please help.
Thanks.
find original rom and reinstall it.

The original ROM was U8800HV100R001AREC00B135SP01 CUSTC213D001 (Kuwait VIVA). I have downloaded it as well.
However as suggested it asks me to create a dload folder in a formatted SD card with the zipped files within it, and then start the phone in 'recovery mode'. However the phone doesn't start in that mode with the same restarting issue.
One person suggested to create a 'dload' folder in the SD card with no contents in it and then start the phone in 'bootloader' mode and the phone will auto revert to its default firmware. I did as suggested but it didn't work either.
I have the original boot.img that came with the phone. I also downloaded a fresh boot.img (along with the other three files that come in the images folder) but still the same result of restarting during trying to start in 'recover mode'.
It was working fine till I messed it up trying to upgrade it to 2.3 to change the patched wpa_supplicant file to connect to Ad-Hoc networks.
I think I need to change the files required for 'recover mode' to default ones, but I don't know where they reside. Any tutorial in this direction would be great.
Thanks.
My guess is that some of the partitions got messed up somehow, some different filesystems (ext4 over ext3) in 2.3 stock fw.
Have you tried copying update.app to dload-folder of sdcard then booted phone with both vol-down and vol-up pressed (bootloader mode). That should in theory start the update...

Ok then.... because I'm lost... which rom was on!
2.2.1?
or 2.3.?
these are the files needed FIRST....
---------- Post added at 05:31 PM ---------- Previous post was at 05:16 PM ----------
Ok IF you were on 2.2.... on sdcard make \dload folder with update 2.2 original rom!!!!
Vol+ Vol- Power on...pink screen and it should do the rest!!!
Recovery after you reinstall 2.2!
Now IF you managed to put 2.3... then put 2.3 update in sdcard \dload and again it should do the rest.
If you are trying to come back to 2.2 or miui oxygen cm7 from the beta.... first put the 2.3 beta back on via the sdcard.
I have put the original ROM in 'dload' folder and as suggested I shall have started the phone in 'bootloader' mode now. There is no movement on the screen so I don't know even if its doing something.
How much should I wait or shall I be notified if the update is done ?
Thanks.

Is your folder structure like this
/sd
/sd/dload
/sd/dload/update.app
If it is, then boot to bootloader. you should see it is doing stuff.

I have double checked it again, the structure is 'dload' folder in the root of the memory card and the update.app file in it, still however I don't see any movement in the 'bootloader' mode, just the "pink" screen continuously lit.
What am I doing wrong ?
Thanks.

Pink screens means it didn't work. Your phone isn't mounting the sd-card right in bootloader mode. You could try to put the dload-folder on internal sd-card, should be possible since you're on linux. Think you just need to mount the right partition when connecting your phone via usb when in pinkscreen. I don't recall exactly which partition as I'm using Windows and haven't tried this, but you should be able to find some more info around here by searching a bit...

Hello XDA-Forum!
Same problem here with my u8800
I have original recovery.img but i fd' other files by overwriting them.. (yes i know...)
Now my phone doesen't start flashing and i cant do anything. I was using almost latest version of oxygen mod.
Do i need original files to flash my phone back to stock in image/... floder? And if i need, can i dig version form recovery.img? or might this is problem with partitions? I think oxygen is known by partition problems.

I have tried as you suggested, There were 5 partitions on the phone 2 of which were smaller than 200MB and therefore could not save the update file which is larger in size. I have tried over the remaining three partitions but in vain, they all end up with the same pink screen.
However you might be correct that my phone is not mounting the SD card as I can't see the SD card in the list of mounted drives in the computer.
To put/move files on SD card I have to use my another phone
I will get another SD card and try. In the meanwhile if there is anything else I could try, do advice me.
Thanks.

Hi, and welcome to XDA!
I guess you got the same problem with sd-card not mounting properly if you can't initiate stock flashing via dload-folder-method.
If you search the forums you'll find links to download all files that's needed in the image-folder of pinkscreen-partition. Then you'll hopefully be able to boot to recovery (vol-up + power), wipe data/cache/dalvik cache and flash whatever ROM you'd like. Remember this erases all your data, hopefully you've backed up whatever precious stuff you've got on your phone.

Remember that you need all files from the same version. Try this, those are from stock 2.2 if I'm not mistaken. When (if?) you get into recovery, remember to clear cache / data / dalvik cache.

Glad to hear you get it working as we both had the basically same problem.
For me however still it is the same issue, except that while going into the recover mode now it shuts down instead or restarting endlessly. Where as the bootloader mode simply does nothing.
Can you post the exact steps you did to get your work so I can also repeat them?
Thanks.
@huzefa_from_kuwait:
You've got the U8800H right? Then you need to find the correct image-folder for your phone, as it differs from what I uploaded which is for U8800.
This morning I was attempting to update the firmware on my i9505.
I downloaded and extracted the .tar.md5 file and opened Odin in administrator mode.
Stupidly I then added the downloaded file as Phone and not PDA and pressed start in Odin. Unsurprisingly it failed.
I downloaded and tried other firmware (as Phone) before I realised my error.
When I boot the phone "normally" I get the failed firmware update message and have tried Kies but it can't connect to the phone.
Download mode does work, but when I try with the firmware (stock and pre-rooted) as PDA it always fails.
Can someone please help to recover my phone? I'm feeling pretty stupid just now

This time the boot sound played completely and my phone is back to initial setup screen - thank you :good:

Did you feel the adrenalin flowing? I thought I bricked mine earlier. We had a mini power cut half way through flashing and it booted up with "Connect to Kies to do emergency firmware upgrade" or something like that. lol
Felt the cheeks of my bum twitch a bit there. lol
Managed to reflash one of the few stock ROMS I have to hand.

S4 bricked after freeze during unmount internal sdcard
Dear friends. I need your help!
I did the actualization on my S4 i9500 (I9500XXUAMDK with root) and after this, I was trying to put more space in my SDcard (editing vold fstab files). During this process, appeared a message on phone about one error in sdcard and it suggested me to unmount the sdcard to try solve the problem. So, when I click yes, the phone froze and then I turned it off, but now it dont pass to Sangung Logo and the phone just go in recovery mode. In recovery mode I tryied clear/mount/unmount some file, but return with error to mount any directories.
I think the phone have the files or some partition corrupted!!! I can access it through ODIN and adb shell as well. There is (in adb commands) a command to fix the partition? How can I do?
I can access the phone in ODIN, and I tried to re-install the original FW. It did well (OK for update), but the phone cant finish the instalation after, because it cant mount anything. And returns to recovery mode with many messages about it cant mount directories.
Every thing I try to do, the phones (in recovery mode) returns "cant mount... or error to mount". I as said, I cant clear cache, format /sdcard or other directory or reset to factory data as well (because I think, the system cant mount any directories).
Somebody had this problem or could help me to solve it, please!!!
Tks in advance!

Why on Earth would you mess around with stuff like that? I hope you get help here, and next time just flash it and don't mess around. Perhaps get an external SDCard to solve your "space" problem.

hehehe... I agree totally with you. But, it wasnt brick because there is some mistake in vold.fstab edition (I suppose). My fault is to accept unmout sugestion in the phone message.
But, it has a soft brick now. I got the access thought adb and odin and I'm trying to find a valid pit to rebuild the partition, that I think is corrupted now (I cant mount anything there. I can access it, but not change anything there).
I found a post here that there is a pit file. I cant ask there because I dont have enough privileges to post in development topic. The links are http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2217777 and http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2214865

Tks demlasjr. My phone is a i9500 (not the ...905).
I run the adonis.pit on pit magic and it generated a analisys report (attached). Before I put it to run on ODIN, you (or somebody) could give a feedback about the entry memory below:
----------------------------------------------------------
Entry Memory Address: 0x754
----------------------------------------------------------
Binary Type: 0 (UNKNOWN)
Device Type: 2 (MMC)
Identifier: 12
Attribute: 5 (READ / WRITE)
Update Attribute: 1 (FOTA)
Block Size: 196.608
Block Count: 16.384
File Offset (Obsolete): 0
File Size (Obsolete): 0
Partition Name: CDMA-RADIO
Flash FileName: modem_cdma.bin
FOTA FileName:
My doubt is about the Partition Name CDMA-RADIO. Is this correct for a i9500 S4? I just really confirm and just to avoid to brick totally my phone, because when I run this pit through ODIN, or fix it or break it (no more chances to revive it)!!!
Tks very much!!!
I've seen that you have the 9500 later, but the forum was down and I couldn't edit my post. On that thread is a discussion about it. Somebody days that may be from 9502. I just seen the art you posted there, try adding this info too, including the pit magic report. Kinda hard to get confirmation and a trustful pit yet.

Dear demlasjr, the forum was down and I forgot to attach the pit magic report when the forum goes up. Im attaching the files now (magic pit report and the adonis.pit that I got in other topic about S4 forum).
If you (or somebody) could help me to analyse it and give us a feedback if this pit is a valid pit for samsung S4 i9500, I will thank a lot!!!
Ps.: I´m trying to solve the problem too, looking for a way to mount the files through adb shell, because I got access my phone with this way and I can see all the files inside there. I just cant to mount any drive yet. Is it possible the problem be only a vold.fstab file corruption or missed? And in this case, is only to solve this file (vold.fstab) to revive my phone?
Or there is a some command in adb shell that could repair the structure files (like scandisk for dos?). I'm newbie on linux and I'm trying to use fsck command, but it returns a error message (fsck: not found). I dont know if I'm putting a correct/complete command to scan and repair the system/drives/files (or if there is a error)...
So, I´m trying to solve it using 3 differents ways of thinking (finding a valid pit, edit/restore vold.fstab and find a correct adb command line to scan and repair eventually corrupt files/directories) and if I solve the problem, I'll be happy to post a tuto here to help some other guys in the future.
Until there, Im working to find a solution.
Tks for help me!!!

I agree totally with you my friend!!! I put it down in the first day I bought it... Its terrible!!! hehehe I put other phones down too, but how the others were olds phones (more then 6 months in the market), always I found the cfw or pit's to revive...
S4 is a newest phone, so, there is not a consistent or many topics/files/cfw tested yet. I´m looking for 3 full days about this and I found a lot of topics in how to root/unroot the phone, but not yet about pits, commands, etc...
The problem is that phone has a corruption files inside (my first diagnostic) and this is avoid to flash any firmware there until I fix this problem.
I´m trying to keep calm to avoid to worst the situation. I can access the phone yet, so I see a light in the end of tunnel yet!!!
But, the feeling is terrible!!! hahaha
Until Odia or GSMCN came back to you, we can't help you my friend. Only them can confirm the .pit file comparing the one already published with his phone's pit file.
One question....what if you try Emergency recover in KIES. Connect your phone to pc, open KIES, open emergency recover and insert your phone serial number. I read that people messed some times with the partitions and KIES saved their phone. It will not hurt to try, KIES is a putty compared with the repartitioning.

I tried to connect it in KIES, but KIES didnt recognizes the phone. I'll try once again!!! I think I really discovered what the problem is, reported by adb parted command in /dev/block/mmcblk0: "error: Both the primary and backup GPT tables are corrupt. Try making a fresh table, and using Parted´s rescue feature to recover partitions"
So, probably when the phone froze during unmounting sdcard, the partitions were corrupted. I'm really thinking to use the adonis.pit, due I think there is no other manner to solve the problem.
I'm waiting any reply from Odia, to see if him can help me. Otherwise, I'll cross fingers and press "enter", to see what happen!!!
My friend, tks for all!!! After I´ll post the results!!! :fingers-crossed:
Hi, since yesterday I have a big problem with my le pro 3, while charging the phone suddenly turned off. The system did not want to turn on, so I went into recovery (TWRP) and tried to format and upload a new rom, unfortunately during the flashing, a blue screen appeared. When changing the kernel, the flashing of the rom was done, but with the installation of the gapps it hung. I tried to install another rom, but it also spilled, with this addition, that I can not enter recovery, because artifacts appear or reboots.. Only fastboot works. With it, I tried to flash the kernel, recovery, but it did not do anything. I also used (TOOL ALL in ONE) and uploaded the stock rom, but the phone still does not work. Do you know what else could help, or is buying a new phone? Thanks for help
If you can use fast boot, your phone is not hard bricked. A brick is when you can not do anything , you will have a black screen and a red blinking light if a usb cable is connected.
Try pushing Twrp ( newest version) to the phone. If that is successful boot to recovery, fully wipe your phone, reboot to recovery and install you Rom> Gapps, and Magisk. I would suggest initially flashing Lineage 15.1. Once your phone is restored, flash whatever you would like.
If it doesn't work try another cable, or another port, or another computer. Computer needs to be up to date and you may need to temporarily disable antivirus, if the All in One tool isn't working its likely that your computer is blocking the install. especially if you are using Windows 10. All the program to be open within your firewall settings. Make sure its up to date and use AIO to update android drivers and adb.

Okay sure, I provided you with a link to the correct files to use. I.E Flash 2.0 and le_zl1_qfil_ufs_fix.zip
Twice you have mentioned that you are using flash One, when you should be using flash 2.0
What Pin code?
Your pin error sounds like you are either using the old Qfil ( its corrupted, and never worked for anyone. ) Or the technician repair rom did not complete. There will be a log file on the PC from Flash 2, not the phone, is port 9008 open in device manager?
There should be no pin code, if qfil was installed, all of your data would be wiped, did you encrypt the phone with 3rd party software?
Are also using the wrong version of Qfil?
Review these additional steps

I am using flashone 2.0 and flashing from your link, the file "le_zl1_qfil_ufs_fix.zip". Port 9008 is open. After three flash in 2.0 flash, I could enter recovery, but when flashing custom rom, a blue screen appeared.
Not enough information, did you follow all of the steps? You can't just flash a Rom after unbricking.
To be clear
You restored the phone, booted into the system, turned on developer options, checked oem unlocking, booted into recovery, and did a factory reset to repair the storage as outlined in my instructions link?
Then booted into the system again, turned on developer options, checked oem unlocking, checked that storage is accurate?
From this point you start over, if your storage issue isn't fixed you will get a blue screen.
After you have perform those steps you should be able to use the all in one tool to check that the bootloader is unlocked, install the latest TWRP, compatible Rom, Gapps and latest magisk.
If you still have issues after all of that. No doubt, its hardware related. It could be one part or several parts. Time to buy a new phone.

Once we managed to load the system, which hung up after 3 seconds and the whole situation started again. Failed to reload the system or enter recovery. I did all the steps in turn. After the system startup I did not even manage to enter the settings, because it has already hung up and restarted.

That sucks!
Its either that the partitions are inaccurate or you have hardware problems.
If its partitions, its not something that I have experience with. However, I did find this link; which has instructions for resolving partition issues using the MiniTool Partition Wizard and HDD Raw Copy Tool. https://www.leakite.com/2016/06/revised-how-to-unbrick-qualcomm-android.html

They should download automatically, if you follow the instructions on those previous Links . The instructions should show which folders the files are located in.
Luckily, I saved these files the last time I de-bricked someones phone.
Here is the link to my Google Drive: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1mjvi_FR4Xh9QfSg6imMLduQ6p3zP2e_u

Noup they do not download automatically (I followed the instructions), I tried flashone tool procedure in a windows 7 computer and did not work (I already tried this a lot of times on to differente laptops with windows 10), I have not tried the qfil procedure because I do not have the files I mentioned before. Please if you have them upload them (* prog_emmc_firehose_8996.mbn* rawprogram0.xml* patch0.xml)
Thanks in advance

All I have is in the link you just responded to.
if that doesn't work try unpacking the Qfil and and see if you can just extract them.
I will look further when I get back home.
i also have an bricked LEX 3 Pro . i bought it as an X722 but of cause iam not shure . could also be an X720. i can not find the difference.
so Phone has only fastboot.
when i plug in usb cable it just reboot every 10 sec . no charging sreen appears
i flash Qfil, but not helped it stay the same
I've probably messed this thing up just about as badly as I can.
Here's what I can tell you:
Update: I just figured out that you are supposed to put dload onto a separate sd card, So i'll be trying that when the phone comes out of it's coma XD anything else you can suggest is very welcome.
- The phone currently isn't turning on after messing around in twrp(tried to restart into bootloader)
- While trying to get it working, it is now showing up as CAN-L11(likely from trying some backups of others)
- I was unable to use ANY roms I tried. full update files didn't work. always error 7
- It seems in twrp that I'd often get this error: mountencrypt failed to mount /data, despite wiping /data many times
- I've tried using iso files extracted from some update.app, and using that to get system and data on there, as well as recovery too
- I was switching between twrp and default recovery to transfer files and then use dload to try to recover the system, never let me do it though. got to 5% then told me something like: "Getting package info failed". it would do this in the download and recover mode as well when I would hook up to the internet and it would also give me that error.
You are free to ask me any questions about the device.
I think I just need to drain the battery then I should be able to at least get something out of it, but until then, if anyone has any recommendations after it's functional again let me know. Any help is appreciated.

Yeah, that's why. The model name can be changed in build.prop, but you're still using a CAN-L11 ROM though.

You haven't flashed the TWRP mentioned in the first post of their thread, hence you've got that error which is basically telling you that you're trying to flash the ROM on an unsupported device (the phone's codename / model is mentioned in TWRP and ROM checks for it), but actually it's working on all models.
- It seems in twrp that I'd often get this error: mountencrypt failed to mount /data, despite wiping /data many times

That occurs because TWRP doesn't support decryption. You have to format data, not wipe. You can format it from TWRP > Wipe > Format data.

Try to unplug the cable from PC. Also, note that I've read in past somewhere that the firmwares from Firmware Finder has to be approved by Huawei and if it isn't, then the stock recovery will fail to flash it. Other Huawei phones has modified / patched stock recovery which allows to flash unapproved firmwares though.

Hah, here's the answer to the above question: not reading xD. Try to slap the phone to wake it from the coma ahahahah xD. When did it get into coma though?
Well, I f*cked up.
Fastboot works, I can flash stock rom via Xiaomi Flash. Flashing completes without any problems. A notification about encypting phone shows up, at 3% it jumps to 100% and resumes boot. Now after each boot, phone freezes at "input your sim pin" and reboots. Over and over again. What can I try, please help :

Try to format data in twrp or stock recovery.
If it does not work flash an android 8.0 or Nougat ROM. Do not lock the bootloader.
Let me guess. From Pie to Oreo or Nougat?

will give it a read, it it works, I'll PM you and you'll give me your paypal address. Fair is fair.
can't unlock OEM, because I can't boot up to developer tools. great, just great. will try to fix that first.
if you can boot to fastboot try to flash stock pie 10.0.4.0 with miflash, after that your device should be able to boot, than unlock OEM and bootloader and downgrade to what version you want

I can get to fastboot yeah, but MiFlash tool says that remote oem unlock is not allowed. So I'll probably have to open it up for EDL. Reboot to edl isn't working. Thanks for the advice tho.

i had a problem like yours, but i have flashed stock rom in non EDL mode and everything had start to work apart LTE band missing that i restored with qualcomm's tools
which stock rom have you try to flash? are you downgrading from oreo? bootloop on android one logo after downgrading is a common issue due to ARB (anti rollback protection)

reward is cancelled from this point on i will reward the one who helped me so far tho. still working on solving the problem so winner has not been decided yet.
you don't understand.
There are no winners and no loosers.
You are free to donate to anyone you want, but your post boost and encourages a bad attitude.
If people start to solve only paid problems, the spirit of the community will be destroyed.
The problem is with the Pie specific partition table
I write the whole guide from memory, so it can differ a bit.... I skipped some steps ( erasing, reboot, fastboot mode, TWRP loading via fastboot, OEM unlock )
From previous writings I think you can know the skipped steps.
Keep in mind: It is dangerous, you can loose your IMEI ( it will only work again with Pie - or there are some writings at forum how can you manually change it. ).
Steps:
1 - Backup with TWRP (fastboot) efs, persist, modem & make copy to your computer and or to your cloud provider.
2 - Create a new folder in Internal Storage -> TWRP -> BACKUP -> With a new date directory ( the backup already made one, make a new folder, with different date )
3 - Download someone's older TWRP backup from xda (I cheated, I copied the following links ) :
(I'm still a new user, so can't directly write url's )
Mediafire : https COLON SLASH SLASH bit.ly SLASH 2QU5NtC
Mirror: Google Drive : https COLON SLASH SLASH bit.ly SLASH 2UN1DTo
4 - Unpack, and copy EFS to the folder created 2 point
5 - Fastboot TWRP -> Restore EFS
6 - Flash the Official latest firmware from en.miui.com ( If you want to make sure go with EDL mode )
7 - Now, the IMEI & Mac addresses are missing. Don't panic! Download update with System Updates.
8 - When you are on Pie again, restore your first TWRP (fastboot) persist partition
9 - One more System restore
At this time, you will have IMEI & Mac addressees, and hopefully a working phone.
Hope this helps. The same thing happened with me 2 weeks ago. This is how I solves it.
Thank you, I solved it yesterday. Hopefully this post will come in handy for other people!
