Got a nook color for Xmas. Love it. Got root using MN 4-5-18/4-6-16 for 1.3. Worked great. Had a few missing apps from Market and tried the fix that GabrialDestruir suggests. Rebooted. First I was stuck in boot loop but found out that was the adobe issue. Got that fixed. Now when trying to enter market I get server error/retry. Wifi connected and can get online with other apps. Any suggestions. Searched threads and could not find any of the like.

So I had to restore my Nook Color back to factory settings and the reinstall everything and stupid me doesn't have a back up. So I have installed CM7 nightly verision 164 and it is running beautifully but I can't get the Google Apps to install. I have tried EVERYTHING and am on the verge of losing it. I have found different threads talking about similar problems where the fix the problem by reinstalling the zip file in CWM or by connecting to wifi and then market will show up asking to install all the other apps. Tried and nothing, wifi is working fine becasue I can use the internet with no problem even was able to get the Amazon App Store running but not the Market. Any ideas please help...
I had the same problem, and I was able to talk to the person who post a video on Youtube titled "How to Install CyanogenMod 7 on the Nook Color (PC Version)". This is from his description.
Having problems with the Market? Use this version of CM7 instead.
h t t p ://download.cyanogenmod.com/get/update-cm-7.0.2-encore-signed.zip
Then update cm7 with your favorite nightly.
Hope this works for you~
Rooted running cm7. I tried downloading my September magazine issues and it said there was error. I tried fixing permissions and rebooting and also reinstalled but still just gives me an error. Any thoughts?
Have you tried to clear data and relogin?
I know, Nook app is shytty
i had this problem and didnt find a fix either
I had the same problem about a month and a half ago. I wish I could give you a good answer on how to fix it. I uninstalled and reinstalled several times with no effect. Log out and login was similarly ineffective. One morning I opened the app at random and voila, everything worked as it was supposed to. Very strange. Good luck.
I posted this in another forum but had no response there, so I'll try here.
I was running 1.2, rooted with MN 4.6.16. I decided to install the 1.3 B&N update. I used nemith's flashable 1.2 to go back to unrooted stock. Worked fine. I manually installed the 1.3 update. Again, all went well. Then, I tried flashing MN 4.6.16.
At first, all seemed well. I restored my apps with TB. Market and Gmail worked. Then I shut my Nook down and rebooted.
I saw the green Nook symbol on the left side of the status bar. Then I discovered that Gmail and Google Maps would not run. Market still opens. I can see and download apps. But after I download an app, I get the "package file is invalid" message. All my other apps work. I can sideload apps. I sideloaded Gmail 2.3.5 and it works.
To fix Market, do I need to go back to nemith's 1.2 and do it all over again, or is there an easier fix I can try?
Thanks for any suggestions.

I am having this problem as well? any thoughts?
Hello folks,
After the market on my computer stopped recognizing the nook - so no more choosing apk on market and downloading later on on the nook.
But yesterday (Oct. 22nd), the market stopped working. Whenever I click on it, it shows a screen with "loading" written on it and a thingy spinning, and it goes on forever and never works.
I've upgraded to vending.apk and market2.3.4.apk, downgraded back and forth several times and nothing. The only thing I've got from market was the licence screen, and loading again and again.
I've searched /data/data and data/dalvik-cache for anything market related, but nothing showed up.
Can anyone please help? Pleeeez?

I have a similar problem. In my case the market app loads as it should, but the marketplace does not "see" my Nook anymore. It only sees my HTC HD2 with AmericanAndroid on it. Before it did also see my Nook as "PHone" and there was the option to load compatible apps onto the device.
And I also remember that I saw a post with a possible solution, but I can't find it anymore...
Well, at least sideloading is working... until now.

this work for me
Bad thing is that this version is the one I'm using now, and still doesn't work, as does the original market (from touchnooter 1.6.24) and the 2.3.4 version. So no market so far.
Maybe resetting and rerooting would work? Any experience on the subject?
Help needed!
Background:
I have installed the saschianooter on my nook touch 1.1.0 . I had earlier installed the earlier version of touchnooter which wasnt compatible with the version of nook that I have. The nook got stuck at the 'forever reading' page and I had to do a restore with the nrestore after repeated failed attempts to restore with reboots.
Problem:
After this I installed the salsichanooter because there was a youtube video on how to go about it.
However unlike the man in the video (and I guess you folks too..!) after erasing, rooting, rebooting, checking/unchecking, signing in on youtube and then syncing gmail, I do not get the market to open up.
I only get upto the page where it asks me to accept the market agreement. After that I only get "no matching content in android market"
I do not get to see a single app on the screen.
What am I doing wrong?
Thanks a lot for your help.
please?? anyone??
I am in Canada .. could that be an issue?
It seems to be a recent issue. Try waiting 12-24 hours and trying the market again. It should work after 12-24 hours. I rooted my wife's Nook STR with salsichinooter 0.4 on Black Friday with no problems. I liked it so much that I bought myself a Nook STR a few days ago and had the EXACT same problem you had. I tried several different market apk's just in case, but they all had the same problem. Waiting a day fixed it.
Read the Touchnooter thread and you'll see others with the same problem with that method also.
If it did not automatically unlock after a day, you should try a different vending.apk to see if that fixes it.
