Hi,
I'm looking for some HD games for Folio and I besides Dungeon and turbofly I couldn't get any to work. I'm specially looking for something like Dungeon Hunter, or Diablo, hack'n'slash I mean.
Do you know any HD game, beside this two, that will run on Folio?
Gameloft as incridible HD games but none works on Folio, because tegra2 texture compression is not supported.
This is a disapointment, as I expect that tegra 2 from nvidia had better game support and afterall it end up being one of must poorly supported platform in terms of games.
We no longer can say that tegra 2 is in its early days, almost 3 months have past since the launch and no support was added. Any new nvidia drivers to fix this issues with gameloft games. Any other publisher with HD games that run on folio.
I heard so much talking about how easy is to port the games from other platforms to tegra, but haven't seen any to this date? What's wrong with tegra?

Imho this is the 1st proper game that supports Tegra 2 and runs like a candy on our Folio !!!

Yes I try it! Is a great game indeed. One think I love in this game are the graphics, but gameplay is not as good as one could expect.
I recently found a Beta version of robot defence and I must say it's awesome. Some animations are still poor but as I said is only a early stage demo of the game.
The lack of content for tegra 2 tablets is really a pain! Good games will make this things sell like hot cookies... but I guess google and nvidia are waitting to the last moment to make content available. Too sad though

Maybe we should make a 'games' topic, with in the first post a list with all perfect working game titles for our folio's
Airattack HD lite. I get it also in my ipod touch and it's a must for those who want to kill some time! Beautiful graphics, not full 3D but quite good

Some new games, and also some old ones are getting HD graphics. Tegra Zone will be launched soon, probably tomorrow.
Tegra 2 may result in a big fiasco if they don't launch exclusive games and apps... It's the first time I see a thing like this: launching a platform with no software, no games, nothing...
Nvidia should be more carefull. A5 from apple is on its way, samsung will have dual core soon, intel already has...

the game works, at LOGO screen press "HOME" once, and then "BACK" and menu appear..
same bug is seen on ElocityA7 , so its a nvidia bug in graphics driver for now..
Take a look at hexage games like buka hd or radiant hd. Really Nice and addictive, runs smoothly but not so kickass graphics like 3d or explosions.....

Yes they are quite fine, not my kind of game though. If you have a Tegra 2 and 512 Megabytes of RAM, you will expect better. I could show this guys the kind of game that I had in my old Intel Pentium 1,3 Ghz, with no GPU by the way. So much power for nothing. A4 from Apple will not even stand against Tegra 2, but if you see the graphics...
I saw backbreaker running on a folio 100 on youtube, but when I run it (1.3d, now clean 1.4), the geraphics are pretty messed up?

Absolutly great... a real tablet game...a lot of great details in graphics, you can move control if you want etc.. . A must try!

Yes it is a most buy in every way. I love the sound and the graphics. Gameplay is great. Story line is very good.

Omg! That game is awesome! I really love it, it play well on our FolioMod v1.4. Thank you so much for recommending it!

Ok, market website fault.. seems the game is actually Tegra2 only!
poor support from Google's website, only showing non-tegra2 devices, when its actually tegra2 ONLY!
you need this View attachment build.zip (download attachment) to actually find it on the market, and buy/install it.
copy the build.prop (inside zip) to your /system folder and reboot.
and you find it.

Why does the recently released games looks like Amiga500 from 1990?
Samurai II and Monster madness has cartoon like graphics which pretty much were fashion back in 90s when its was too hard to do better graphics and the no GPU were not capable of handling it.
is Tegra2 not better than a 90's cpu?
or should 3d games seen on other mobiles just wait, until Nvidia fixes the OpenGL ES issues, so its better supported, because its not just a port issue, its also the work tegra2 GL seems to be designed since games are still "2D"..

You are right! Some of this games are 2d only... But they are good enough to be played again and again, because they are fun. Most iPad and iPhone are just 2d because the game engine is more simple and the dev time is faster

I'm really curious too!
Whilst it has the abilty to play most games nVida perform a check to see if a Tegra chip is inside.
I believe it can be bypassed with route however.

You can play THD games, but you have to root your Gs2 and install Chainfire3D (you can download it from market, Chainfire3D is an intermediary OpenGL driver )

I come from a Nexus 7, and just figured that anything that was THD or Tegra-optimized, would have the best graphics available, and would only run on Tegra hardware.
So with the Nexus 4 having better hardware then the 7, would it be able to run these THD/Tegra-optimized games? I would think the only thing that might stop a THD game from working on non-Tegra hardware is if it used some Nvidia-specific GL extension or something, but idk.
Some games I had in mind were DEAD TRIGGER (They have a Tegra version, and a normal version, but would the normal version be the only choice?), Fruit Ninja THD, and Shadowgun.
Tegra-specific apps won't work on non-tegra chips. That used to be amendable by using Chainfire 3D, but development on that has ceased

Sorry if this has been brought up before. Tried searching and did not find much. I love my Transformer tablet but hate all the love being given to the new Tegra 3 tablets and Nvidia releasing Tegra 3 only titles and such. I read that you can edit some games to show extended graphics in some games but are there any kernals out there and overclocking procedures that can get the original transformer tablet performing like a tegra 3 tablet and play all the tegra 3 only games? I have had my transformer for a while and have tried to refrain from rooting it and doing custom roms but I think I want to root and rom it and help it to start performing better. Any suggestions on if and how this can be done?

You can root and install custom ROMs and get perhaps better Tegra 2 performance, but you won't necessarily get the same level of performance as Tegra 3. Tegra 2 only has 2 CPU cores where Tegra 3 has 4 active + 1 slave core. You would have to have software that reported the CPU as Tegra 3 to fool other programs, but you still wouldn't have Tegra 3 graphics no matter what you do.
To OC the transformer you need an over clocking kernel. Most custom roms have a decent OC kernel.
I like setcpu as my OC app. You need to be rooted for this app to work.
I don't know if you can get Tegra 3 performance or anything like it but I know it runs Dead Trigger quite well with extended graphics enabled.
Might have been mentioned before but..it seems the Note 3 is being classified as Tegra compatible as all my previously Tegra only games are working AND seem to be displaying Tegra 3 graphics...Both unbeknownst to me until today..I've been enjoying some superb game play on this beast >
