I got it 2 weeks ago, came with 3.1
but I've allready rooted him and now I'm waiting for CM9 ROM or another ICS ROM.
Which one do you have? Wifi or Wifi + 3G ?
You'll love it even more with CM9/ICS ... all residual lag is gone
I just got one for Christmas too. Came with 3.1 but there was an update for 3.2 that I did. Now rooted on stock from with OC kernel.

I just bought mine yesterday. $388 Boxing Day deal
Running 3.1 atm, waiting on the 3.2 update
Hows your case? I'm still looking for one
And actually how do you determine the manufacture date of the tab based on the 5th "Letter" in the serial number?
I picked one up for myself Monday as a trade in from a Kindle Fire and I am so happy!
The price difference well worth it and since I was able to put the money from returning the Kindle Fire I was able to grab a 32gig tab, simply awesome!
mum picked one up today (i went with her obviously) for 439 at Costco, and it was bundled with the official samsung leather sleeve... wifi only here
90day no questions asked return policy and 2 year warranty... not a half bad deal in my opinion
Is yours a Rogers or wifi Tab? If its Rogers you can update Android but if wifi only then Samsung have yet to release 3.2 for some reason

Wi-Fi model.
Yeah after reading into it, realized that the Canadian Wi-Fi models didn't receive the update yet
Got my wi-fi model today, rooted and custom rom on within 15 minutes.
Got mine on the 23rd. Am loving it so far. Not sure if I am going to keep it though. I also have a Transformer Prime on order that will get here sometime the first week in February.
I want to compare them side by side but I only have 30 days to return the GTab that I picked up from Sam's Club. I may return it and then repurchase one or with the problems that I have heard about with the Prime so far, I may just keep the Tab.
What should I do? What should I do? Hell, maybe I will just keep them both or sell one later on ebay or CL.

True! I'd recommend task's for smoothness, funtionality and stability.
First thing you want to do is root this bad boy and install a custom ClockworkMod recovery, from that you can make a nandoid backup of your stock rom, then flash away. Id recommend you try tasks rom beacuse it is still close to the stock feel plus its fast, stable, and loaded with features. Enjoy!

I'd keep the galaxy tab. With the transformer prime's problems I'd wait for new tablets to come out like the nexus tab or ipad3

Given this deal, can the Sprint Tab be rooted and connected to Verizon's CDMA 3g, or is it permanently tied to Sprint's 3g network?
I'm thinking about buying it. I'm on the Viewsonic G Tablet forum only, so I don't know much about the Galaxy Tab development. How functional is the Honeycomb port for the Galaxy Tab? I just got Honeycomb installed on my GTab and so far its really good for an alpha build. The only thing not working is flash plugin, camera, and video hardware acceleration.
I just got mine from their last sale, and it works great, have had some over the air upgrades. I, too, have a viewsonic. I like the Galaxy size and the main reason was the built in GPS... Makes the Copilot work more reliable compared to the bluetooth Viewsonic. Of course the Viewsonic big screen is nicer to read documents and web...

Just bought one. I've got the wifi only version right now and really enjoy it. I'm listing that guy on ebay right now and I'm going to start the auction at $260 or so. It'll sell and I'll basically get upgraded hardware (faster processor, BT 3.0) at no cost. I'm down with that.
this must be limited availability... this is monster deal for 3G. thats 180euro
So If I have a current sprint plan with unlimited data, can this be added just like an extra line? obviously that wouldn't include the sprint hotspot. Or, will they require a separate plan?
I am about to hit Buy now, but is it worth it. Any serious opinions on the device from real users is what I like to hear, not reviewers. I own an iPad 2, which is hard to beat. Im no apple_boy either. Its the best thats why I own. Anyways I want a new Android tablet, I have owned one last year (Camangi WebStation) but I want to give it another go. How is the DEVin here, are there a few good ROMs?
I'm in for one, ready to upgrade from my Nook Color. Looking forward to the 1ghz processor and ff camera.

There are a few ROMs available... not near as active as say the HD2 forums or the Xoom forums... Overcome is pretty much the dominant ROM for GSM tabs. Alterbridge has both a 2.2 and a 2.3 rom available at the moment, and Spacemoose1 is currently working on development for Honeycomb for both the GSM and CDMA devices. If I didn't have one of these already, I'd be buying it... Someone point Deeper-Blue to this post so He and Space can develop HC together...
I've got a Nook Color as well and I am considering buying the G Tab on Woot too.
Not sure if I am going to pull the trigger on it, though. Besides cameras and a mic, what else would it give me that my rooted Nook Color doesn't have?
so it might be worth it. I was about to pull the trigger on the ASUS Transformer, but I went to best Buy this morning and it was sold out. I was available online there for like the past 3 days, now SOLD OUT
But I keep seeing these Galaxy Tabs for sale, some pretty good deals, its making me wonder if I should go Honeycomb, the post for this could be a ways away.
Put one on order for my dad, he's been drooling over my g tablet but I'm sure he'll be happy with one of these galaxy tabs. Couldn't beat the price.

If you've been following recent Motorola Xoom developments, you'll know that the first "Google Experience" tablet has just been updated to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. Alongside the update, Carphone Warehouse, one of the main sellers of Xooms in the UK, has cut the price of the Wifi-only model to £249.99. This is a £50 drop from the earlier RRP of £299.99, and the latest in a long line of Xoom price drops which has seen the tablet gradually fall from the July price of £399.
It might not be as sleek as the Galaxy Tab 10.1, or as fast as the ASUS Transformer Prime, but £250 for a 10-inch, dual-core ICS tablet isn't a bad deal at all if you ask us. UK readers, would you be tempted to drop £250 on a Xoom at this point? Be sure to let us know in the comments.

So from a perspective buyer to those who own the Xoom, is it still a worthy purchase compared to newer tablets? I've been wanting to get a 10" tablet but they either lack the dev scene or hit the wallet pretty hard but the Xoom is well supported and at this price seems to be a steal. I did hear about lag/performance issues early on but has this been ironed out? Thanks

ICS for me has fixed all the niggles of honeycomb, its still not perfect but the DEV scene has now gone massive with ICS builds so it wont be long.
Personally I still feel the XOOM is the best made of the tablets, I love the fact that out of all the tablets you can now buy, it still has the smallest bezel which for me is a winner.
Great price for a good tab but the question is when will the uk get the ics update..
Hi, I picked my Xoom up from Argos for £220 and that was before Christmas.
Also had a nice case from Amazon for £10, fits a treat and tablet performs great. J ust waiting now for OTA update to ICS and job done.
Bargain for sure
This is a bargain, ICS is great, no need to wait for the OTA, goto the US version of 3.2.1 and await the push

Ordered mine last week, should be with me tomorrow hopefully. While there may be newer tablets on the market at the moment, the price of the xoom and the incredible support being offered on this forum make the xoom the clear choice.
My sister just got one from carphone warehouse, she had been looking at one for a while, she just wants it for reading stuff online, so tegra 2 more than powerful enough for her. At £250 with ICS on its way it's too good to leave. If I didn't have the eee pad transformer and hp touchpad I would have considered getting one to play with

So with my tax refund I'm going to buy a tablet. At circuit city.com I can get an Asus transformer or an Acer A500 for the same price (refurbished). Acer has twice the memory so I'm leaning that way but what do you guys think?
That is funny you posted this b/c i was going to post one about it too.
Best Buy has new Transformers 32gb for $399. They also carry the 16gb but it is not on sale and is still $399. But this deal is only this week (til Saturday probably-b/c Sunday starts the shopping week).
Anyways, I bought the Transformer (TF101) and am nothing but totally impressed. It is easy to update, easy to root and there are some really great ROMs over there. Plus it has a keyboard dock that you can buy.
I did NOT get the Transformer Prime (TF201) b/c before I pulled the trigger, I had read, read and read some more and every time the Prime came up with a host of problems and issues, like bad Wifi, GPS, screen light bleeding. Seems that they wanted to push it out as the "first" tablet with Tegra 3 in it but forgot to fix all the other essential parts.
I got it and had it rooted within 20mins (if you get one, let me know and I'll show you the easiest way to do it). Oh and ICS comes out sometime in the next few weeks for it (they said mid-Feb).
Wow I've been. Xda type reading about tablets trying to decide if I wanna bite the bullet and buy myself a tablet also. And I was also leaning toward the Asus transformer not prime. I think with the 32 gb on sale I'm gonna get it. But I still don't know about spending this kind of money. But but I'm tired of web browsing on my little phone screen.

Is this tab a good deal for $279? Its the 16gb version norm price is $379. I just wanna make sure everything works well. Any problems with this tab? I have the Lenovo Ideapad K1 and the biggest problem I have with it, is its has horrible WiFi signal and I haven't seen any WiFi issues with this tab. But I did notice that this tab doesn't have gorilla glass. So I also want to make sure the glass doesn't get to scratched easily and that its sensitive enough.
Thanks, Dev

Good luck actually getting one, but I think it sounds like a good deal. Remember this does have expandable memory, so really internal storage isn't a huge problem. I had the transformer prime for a while, loved it, but couldn't justify the expense so I returned it. This thing is the exact same device with a plastic back and slightly lower res screen If this sale is going on cyber Monday too I'm certainly snagging one.

It sounds like a good deal to me. I'd run with it. I have the 32 GB version, with another 32 GB micro SD card. I paid $297 for mine on the no tax weekend at Micro Center in St. Louis. These were on clearance. I've had 4 tablets already, the Acer Iconia 500, the iPad 2, the Galaxy Tab 2, and this one. I've enjoyed this one more than all the others.
Today, a boss of mine, that I see once a year, came in, and noticed he had an iPad with him. I really wanted to say to him, "So, you got a pretentious hunk of junk, huh?" But I figured that would hurt his feelings.

Same here...sure would like the link so could pick it up at Bestbuy and not hassle with Black Friday crowds! Like the $299 OfficeDepot price for the 32GB but w/sd card don't think I need the add'l 16GB. Other than production apps that can't use SD storage, any major benefit for getting the 32Gb model?
Also (and new thread likely best, but...) this'll be my first tablet. Mostly for multimedia, browsing, e-books, & general game playing - considering Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 too. Though Galaxy might(?) have a better multimedia experience (not so much into the Galaxy's "extra" GUI), but TF300T seems to have better multimedia & overall performance. Am I losing much if any on graphics & sound in going for the better performance? Sorry, I know it's been discussed some elsewhere, but need some additional thoughts to help me know I'm not making the wrong choice!

My advice is to make sure you can return it just in case you're not happy with it. I/O issue plagues most of current Asus pads so in the end, lower price may not justify the frustration. Again you might be ok with it but just in case.

Good point - just checked with Office Depot and they do give 14 days to return it for a full refund. So that shouldn't be a problem...
As for the I/O issue, how prevalent is it? I did a quick search and did find some references. This has me greatly concerned and if it's that big problem of a problem, then about only alternative is the Galaxy Tab 2 10.1. But being a dual core, was worried it'd be noticeably slow in running apps, browsing/viewing multimedia, etc. Did like some aspects of the Galaxy, but was really leaning towards the TF300T.
Just came across one XDA thread from August discussing ASUS working on fixing this and the OTA 4.0.4 greatly helped the benchmarks. Is it possible a new kernel or update has corrected the issues at this point? Another in September mentioned using a custom ROM...I plan on rooting it, though just as with my EVO3D thought I'd stay with the stock rooted ROM. I'd figure this an option to help correct the problem if I do encounter it (and if necessary, run a different ROM)?
Lastly, how difficult is it to root?
Thanks much for the insights!!

And yes, after reading more I feel less wary of the i/o issue. Some had encountered it, others not and seemed that OTA updates (possibly moving from ICS to Jelly Bean) helped. Plus rooting and running a custom ROM is another option or worst case, bring it back...
Looks like another round of learning regarding unlocking the bootloader and rooting. Was reading a bit about being able to do OTA updates if rooted (but not unlocked), and restoring root after. Seems to me on my EVO3D doing OTA's after unlocking & rooting weren't recommended, and that may be the case here too? I do have to go back and do more reading on these topics!
Just a heads up guys. I just ordered a black one, which will be my first Samsung tablet ever. The listing is for refurbished, but seeing as how 800 have been sold in 48 hrs, the scuttlebutt is that these are really just new devices that Samsung needs to get rid of to make way for the Tab S, but YMMV.

Just bought this in white. Came in today. Stock ROM runs a bit sluggish IMO. Hopefully custom ROM will make this bad boy run smooth.

I haven't received mine yet. I paid for expedited shipping, but they basically lost it. Now it's finally going to be delivered tomorrow.
Just got mine yesterday. I'm coming from the Asus Infinity.
So far I've switched to the Google launcher and everything works great. So much smoother except for a few heavy websites.

Got mine a couple days ago, put cm11 on it. No sure how long it will keep me from buying a nexus 9, but I'm liking it so far.
I guess this deal is dead, but I found a similar one here: http://www.groupon.com/deals/gg-samsung-galaxy-tab-pro-tablets
$240 for the 8.4" ones.
