Virtuous Sense and It's smooth like butter. Sense 3.5 is too memory hungry I'd say

I have found that virtuous affinity (sense 3.5) uses less memory than any sense 3.0 rom.

Honestly, all sense 3.5 roms use less ram than sense 3.0 roms

its cos u need about 150mb free RAM to play it, and on that ROM you wont get anywhere near that

works fine foor me. virtuous unity 2.37 kernel unity v6

Works fine for me, bit laggy when driving around but quite playable.
I'm using the stock pre-rooted rom, Unity v9 kernel @ 1Ghz.. Have you got SWAP enabled? GTA will fill up your RAM so having SWAP may help (or not, try it)
Craig

I'm using a Sense 3.5 rom with v6 supercharger. I got around 85-90mb free of RAM when I play the game but it's still too laggy.

Actually, gta 3 works well on stock xperia play. Our rooted devices should run it as well as or better then xperia play.

I can report ICS (both Andromadus and MDJ's AOSP kernel) cannot even run it. Think anyone can tell why?

Which version are you using? Perhaps the version you flashed does not yet support Hardware acceleration?? Given that 3D acceleration is listed as working (e.g. Flemmard's beta9r1), you might want to try that out?

I tried it on stockrom, rooted and clocked 1.2GHz. it lagged a bit, but was actually playable.
runnydroid with v6 supercharger script was a bit better, but caused rosie to crash everytime i exited the game.
now on cyanogenmod 7 nightly clocked at 1.2 GHz and it works like a charm.

I'm using ICS and its been working even when the hw wasn't out. I used chainfire3d. But now like above it works fine. I'm using latest gta version.

honey 3D

i've been running honey 3D for about a week now and it's very smooth has anyone else had any issues with it?
Not really. Solid ROM with excellent battery life. Had a problem with my phone constantly restarting but a backup of my important files on my SD card and then a format of it cleared up that issue.

Well I used to be a fan of samuel for the honeysense roms, but I tryied honey 3d, and honestly its best to install virtuous unity and just install the honey 3d theme, its faster and battery lasts longer.
I think honeysense HD 7.3 was the best rom I have ever installed on my Inspire it was stable and smooth had a lil lag but nothing a lil overclocking couldnt fix

I tried both Virtuous Unity and Honey3D. Strangely, Honey3D ran very smooth, but Virtuous kept freezing. I know Honey3D uses Virtuous as a base, which is why I found it so strange

Same with Virtuous Unity here. Had this with every Sense3rom I tried. But seems to me that this is still a lot left.

Sense ROMS use way to much rom. MIUI and Stock uses a lot less, and run therefor much smoother imo.
but the rom is smooth
I flashed the Honey3D ROM and I found that it was a very smooth performance and good battery life.
As with all Sense 3.0 ROMs its a little RAM intensive but nothing that is obviously noticeable.

I have been using only Sense roms since I switched from WinM. Sense 2.0/2.1 have always been fine and there are a lot of Roms available that work great. I am currently using Dungphps Sense 3.0 Rom and I'll admit that at first it was really laggy and had a bunch of issues but it has progressively gotten much better. Currently the V2.3 Magldr Rom by Dungphp is awesome. It might be worth a check if your interested in making a change
Try this rom..
Miui with sense, ultrafast and stable..
regards
it is how it is. Sense roms = slow, miui/cm7 roms = fast. I was allways the Sense guy, till i tried miui Now, i cant imagine going back to Sense any more.

What exactly do you mean by 'slow'? I've found that froyo/sense ROMs run a lot smoother than CM7 ROMs. They seem to flow much better, for example when opening switching homescreens or opening previews, the transition is much more smooth than on typhoon, and that's from experience with MCCM's HD on SD, which should be slower. I get much more RAM on CM7 and apps etc open a LOT faster though, so I think I'll stick with it until a stable Gingerbread/sense rom is released. I'm also tempted to try MIUI, although I hate the launcher.

Sense uses a lot of memory (RAM), so for good performance a good memory manager is necessary. I use that and a start-up manager to control what programs run in the back ground.
Most programs don't need to run in the back ground, they will start-up when executed.

Same here. GB Sense, I tried all of them, never give you more then 1000 on Quadrant. CM7 or MIUI will give you 1200 or 1300.
can any one suggest a good sense rom plz
I use [10.Aug] BOYPPC-SHIFTPDA Ginger 2.3.3 HTC Sense 3.0_V5 rom for 2-3 weeks I think it is smooth but wi-fi tethering cannot use - -' and the graphic while loading not completely smooth.
Totally I think is ok now for HTc sene 3.0 rom while I waiting a new one ^^

I've used few Sense 3.0 ROM on my HD2 till my digitizer dies on me. I would suggest you include V6 supercharger with your rom n you should see the difference. Phone is much snappier but the graphics are still a little buggy.

try Dungphps, they are the best sense 3.0 roms I would just recommend using auto killer memory optimizer to Get rid of the lag and set to 70, 80, 90. I personally have it set to 90, 100, and 110. Remember there is no substitute for a real sense rom

The Froyo roms are better. If you use with sense 3.0 don't forget to install autokiller memory optimizer . Also try Dungphp sense roms they are the best and if you have Tmous HD2 you don't have have an external partition

Also you can use an alternate launcher to save memory. If you use the sense launcher it will still be fast a long as you use the auto killer memory optimizer. Just search which is the best setting for the app in the this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1141628 it will tell you what set the autokiller memory optimizer to get rid of the lag and work faster. I personally have mines set at 80, 90, and 100

My recommendations would be from the Virtuous Team. Either rmk's Sense 2.0.0 or the Team's Affinity 1.48. Both have comparable battery life but Affinity has the advantage of Sense 3.5 compared to 2.1 of rmk's ROM.
I've tried both and have to say that I loved Affinity. Only reason I'm off it at the moment is because of Flemmard's ICS port. Loving the AOSP feel of ICS =)..
I'd say sense 3.5, tried it with my own device
Actually i am on RCMix Energized, i am also using Supercharger V6 with the ROM, and i have to say it's the best Sense 3.5 experience i have, no freezes after install/uninstall apps, launcher does not die randomly (thanks Supercharger). But if you want a solid and stable sense ROM my shot goes to Virtuous Sens 2.0.0, fluid, fast, stable. That if you do not care about graphical effects and stuff like that.

I'm also trying out RCMix. I've always loved NRG's work since Windows Mobile days, and he doesn't disappoint on Android either. Just on the first day of using RCMix, but so far it seems less laggy than Affinity.
Virtuous Unity seems pretty much deprecated (and no longer being updated) since Affinity came around (which itself has had development halted as the team is now working on ICS). But when I first started using Unity, I experienced a big increase in battery life. I had flip flopped from CM7 to Virtuous (Froyo) and back to stock, but never saw more than a day or 1.5 days with low/moderate usage. On Unity, I was easily getting 2 days or more with low usage. Not quite as good on Affinity.

fast and lagfree gingerbread rom w/ Sense

hi, ive tried out quite a few roms and most of those who were with Sense, while beautiful, they had lag like crazy. i ve ended up with CM7 and MIUI as the top 2 candidates for daily rom however if you ve tried a rom with sense that is also fast and stable, id like to try it so let me know

+1 for Affinity. Despite it being a Sense 3.5, there is little lag even on stock speeds and without supercharger.
If you want something alittle more stock, try Sense 2.0 from Virtuous by rmk40. I've been on all of Virtuous' ROM's and have yet to be disappointed by their Sense or AOSP ROM's.

What you said is very true. Although the expertly crafted sense 3.0 and 3.5 roms have reduced lag to a manageable level, once you run a few intensive apps, then return to the rosie you will experience some lag, unless you play with scripts and/or swap. The issue is not with the excellent work of the devs here, but with the severely limited ram on the Vision.
However, I have yet to experience and kind of lag on a sense 1 or sense 2 rom, and have not required swap. There is so much more free memory with the old sense roms, that rosie reloads just do not happen.
I'm 2nding mike102871 on this. If you really want to use sense as it should be, use sense 2.0 since it was crafted to work on the g2. using sense 3+ is nice, but the g2's spec doesn't actually meet the basic minimum requirement.
I suggest Virtuous Sense. It's the best out there for 2.1
