[Q] Kindle Launcher Icons Screwed Up - Kindle Fire General

I recently rooted a kindle fire and installed go launcher EX. Now for some reason, the icons in the kindle are screwed up and don't display normally anymore. I don't want to clear default data for the launcher (but will do so if it is the only way)..
Here is how it looks like...
Is there a way to fix this? Thanks

I fixed it, I found out it was the Chainfire3D app I installed. .
Please close thread! Thank you!

[Q] Flashing Kindle fire launcher

Hi guys, something's wrong with my kindle fire...
I was browsing the android market and the screen was suddenly frozen.
Then I long press the power button to turn it off and restart again.
But when it's turned on, the kindle fire launcher keeps flashing (Go launcher works fine).
So I restart my kindle again to see if this problem will go away, but it keeps flashing...
Also, every time I turn my kindle on, it says sign-in is required before accessing the Internet. But after I signed in, this notification just pop up again...
Anyone can help me please?
Thanks!!!
(it's a bit long, sorry about that!)
are the restrictions in settings active ? maybe turn on and off again
but about the flashing launcher ???
sorry - no more ideas ...
Thank you b63.
But that's not working...
Actually the sing-in part is not that annoying and I think that happens because of the default launcher.
Let me give more details about my problem.
So I have 2 launchers: the default one and GO launcher
Go launcher works perfectly, as I have said.
But once I switch to default launcher, I can see the launcher interface for one second or two, and it turns black for few seconds and the interface shows up again....
And my kindle keep doing this repeatedly.
(the notification bar is working, so I can still switch to Go launcher)
Thank you guys for helping me!
i'm using the same configuration
have set go launcher as default launcher and use stock launcher when i need it
works perfect
maybe try to reset the defaults of both launchers:
settings - apps - go (& stock) launcher - defaults (all at the bottom)

Odd launcher behavior

Hey all,
Weird thing just started happening yesterday on my Nexus. Whenever I power on the tablet, I am prompted for the default launcher choice. This shows up on the lockscreen, so somehow the unit is forgetting that adw is my default launcher. Once I make the choice, all is good. Just bugs me that I have to do that everytime.
I am rooted, and used that to change my screen density settings to get a real tablet look rather than the enlarged phone look. No problems there as this just started yesterday. I have installed home switcher and that did not do the trick. Could it be a conflict with a recently installed app?
Any insight or ideas would be greatly appreciated!
I'm not sure but things you can try:
Goto adwlauncher app settings and unset defaults and sleep tablet, and reset defaults on the lockscreen with always
Convert adwlauncher to a system app and repreform the above. (Requires root) may not help, but I believe this may cause adwlauncher to run quicker and not throw anr's although I haven't seen 1 anr on my nexus 7 yet!!
Disable the stock launcher. Settings, apps, all, launcher, force stop, disable. (No root req'd)
You can also try clearing the defaults here first to see of it helps.

Thanks for the reply Joe!
Your ideas prompted a little targeted searching and I discovered I could 'freeze' the stock launcher (disable it) using Titanium Backup. My Nexus booted right into ADW as I wanted.
Thanks!

Anyone want wallpapers on kfhd?

First off, I am a NOOB. So take what I did with a grain of salt, it may not be right. If I could get a senior member to check this out as well. I installed 2 launchers, go launcher hd and adw launcher ex. Then installed wallpaper wizardii, now I can use my pictures to set the background. You have to use "no scroll" in the settings. I am still playing with the functions, and it looks better on go launcher hd than adw launcher ex, but it works.
Rooted kfhd , step by step set up.
Do you have to be rooted to install launchers? I am un rooted and it never shows up in my app list. I can side load just fine, just not launchers. Tried Nova and go had.

if you are rooted, if you move the apps to system/app you can change there permissions. This allows for you to change the launcher to any launcher by default. So that when you press the home button you don't have to be forced back into the amazon launcher. Completely different from side loading the apps. I highly recommend it if you prefer a different launcher like me.

Ok thank you, I did not know that I had to change the permissions and file location. I am going to root my Fire tomorrow and then I will do that.

Word to the wise--DO NOT set your new launcher as default until you are very sure it is working ok. You can get stuck in the boot loader and believe me it is no fun!
Ok I have rooted it and installed apex and it is very nice. Everything is working smoothly. Now i might go make a theme pack to make it look like stock ics. What are the dangers of modifying framework-res.apk?

that what I've meet yesterday, it make me scare. Go laucher not working, it show not working, it show stop, then press stop, and stop again & again I can't get in to anything. Luckily, there is a star sympol, which you can get in to Silk browser, after that you can scroll down notify , get in to setting and clear Go laucher default.

Although I can only make out half of what you wrote - I can confirm I too had this problem with Apex ("Apex has stopped working"). Luckily, I was able to get into my email through the favorites star and clear defaults. I dont know why, but the Apex launcher will not work for me.

Blurry kindle wallpapers
For anyone whose having a trouble finding a good unblurrywallpaper for you Kindle Fire (if using a launcher):
Search the Google Play store for an app called Wallbase
Once installed, go to Settings --> Resolution --> Select "2560x1600"
Find a wallpaper you like and set it as you wallpaper. WALA! You can also save it so you can ur wallpaper while offline via Wallbase.
I hope people who have problems with blurry Kindle wallpapers get to see this. I was surprised when I found this out! GOOD LUCK!

Safely removing Fire Launcher

I own a Fire HD8 running 5.4.0.0 (Not rooted because I think root doesn't work for my version) and I really want to safely remove the Fire Launcher and replace it Evie Launcher as the default one. I've read a bunch of threads that I don't know if they're outdated or not about how to do this but I remember reading something worrying in these forums about the Home button bar disappearing if you removed the fire launcher which would definitely be a problem.
So my question would be, how exactly do I remove it and replace it with this launcher safely without messing anything up or having the home bar disappear on me? Thanks.

Cannot set custom launcher as default AND cannot change wallpaper!

Hi! I just bought a new Amazon Fire HD 10 Plus, the latest version, and used Fire Toolkit to remove all the Amazon stuff. I installed both Niagara and Nova launchers, and they will not stay set as the default launchers...
Also, I cannot change wallpaper in my settings! It just keeps jumping back to the previous settings screen.
Not sure what is going on, everything else Toolkit did is fine. Thanks!
You are running Fire OS 7.3.2.2? Amazon protected some system apps, including launcher. So it is not possible to change the default launcher.

I'm having the same issue. When I try to change the wallpaper it exits out of the settings. I was able to change wallpapers though using other wallpaper apps. For instance, the Resplash app on Google Play store let me download and change the lockscreen/home screen wallpaper with no issue.
The only issue is changing the wallpaper from the settings menu. That doesn't work for some reason.
