[Q] Amazon App Store - Privacy question - Kindle Fire General

I wonder...
I have an Amazon Kindle Fire and I reset it to defaults, but under "My account" I'm not signed in so it tells me "This Kindle is not registered", if I go ahead and start using Amazon App Store, does my kindle would get itself registered? or can I use my Amazon App Store apart from the fact that this is Amazon device and it's so heavily integrated (one app into another)?

[Q] Can't sign into Amazon Apps store

After unlocking and rooting my Motorola 3G Xoom I have been unable to log into Amazon Apps Store.
As the other posts suggested I deleted my devices on Amazon, uninstalled and reinstalled the app store, even set up a new Amazon account, but still cannot sign in.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Is there a system file that i can edit?

something interesting

before resetting my fire. it show up
Alan's Kindle 11/16/2011
on my amazon account
after resetting my fire. it show up
Amazon Kindle Fire 11/20/2011
on my amazon account.
how can it be ?
Deactivate the kindle account linked and relink it. Look at your settings and see if the time is set right. Also in the amazon.com website you can change that text to whatever you want. Device settings for kindle on amazon.com
Anyone else have their kindle pre-activated? When I took mine out of the box, it already said my name on it. and had a kindle email address already. I did buy this with my amazon account and I had installed kindle software before, but never really used it. I just thought it was a little strange.
All Fires purchased through Amazon accounts were pre-registered to those accounts
Also to note your kindle will be registered to your amazon account's email address however an @kindle email address is also created to sync documents to your device. Have not tried this yet, but supposedly you can email a file to that @kindle address and it will sync to your device.

Question: Amazon acct and kindle

Here is one for you: I bought a Kindle Fire for my Dad for Christmas. I want to install apps he will want before I give it to him (xfinity tv app). Is ther a way to use my amazon account on the kindle to install the apps then set it to his account after I give it to him? (I have to root to install android apk stuff, but need es-file explorer from amazon app store first...kind of a quandry).
I do not want to register it for him with his name, using his email address...that would give away the secret when he gets a confirmation email.

I believe you can register it to your acct and do what you need to do then de-register it and give it to him.
Thanks for the reply, I guess that's what I'll do.
When you deregister, all content via the amazon market is removed.
Anything you purchase using YOUR account will not be available to him in His account.
I would simply wait until he gets his unit setup in his name and assist him. You can sideload the ES file manager, or use another one.
This is the quandry I'm in with the Fire I got my mom for Christmas. I'm thinking I want to be as hands off as possible though so she can get a feel for her new computer. I'm thinking I might help her favorite the gmail mobile web version, but then let her play with it. I did get her an Amazon gift card to go with it, so she can buy some apps, or books to have on it.
I found the way around registering my amazon acct, open the built in documents app, it lets you browse to the apk files, when you click them, it installs. I first did this to install root explorer, then it's all from root explorer sideloading.

how to change the google account

I rooted the kindle fire already, and i installed the android market. I signed into my google account on the kindle but i want to change the account. this kindle is not for me, i rooted it for my sister.
how do i take off my account in the android market?

Cloud

Ok so what's the difference between the cloud and what's on my device? I have all my books on the cloud but they are also all on my device. Can I put apps on the cloud? I guess I'm just confused as to how it works.

The "cloud" (I really hate that term) contains anything you have purchased from Amazon but may or may not have downloaded yet. You can also upload your own content.
The Cloud [store and remove]
Consider the cloud sort of like a backup of everything you've gotten from Amazon Market for you Fire: books and apps. You can "remove from device" any of that stuff and you've still got it in your Cloud. So, you can go buy a ton of freebies on Amazon and they'll forever be in you Cloud; you can store it all there [unorganized].
In fact, the only way to remove it from you're Cloud is to got to "manage device" from within Amazon website and actively mark it for deletion. After a sync or reboot, it'll eventually go away from your cloud view on your Fire.
