Nothing special when I look at it, but here it is for use with flashtool if you like.
Download here: http://www.multiupload.com/O702RN9T02
Enjoy!
Please say thanks to me, if you copy the download link I made...

Ha ha ha, it can not be rooted with zergRush, so never mind this firmware
anyway, so much for it......
atleast I made a try, lets go back to .58 and .42 instead

Thanks!

Actually, if you flash a custom or a old kernel, you can root.

Whats do you mean install a kernel? How can we root it without unlocking the boot loader?

For a custom kernel you need a unlock bootloader, but if you put the old stock kernel you dont need unlock the bootloader.
In attached follow the 4.0.2.A.0.42 stock kernel, you can flash this kernel and then root with zergRush.

Thanks. Flashed new baseband on .42 firmware successfully

People with Xperia play, Arc S, Neo V, Neo ...
4.0.2.A.0.62 firmware is available on Wotan, too.
I was using HK generic 4.0.2.A.0.58. This 4.0.2.A.0.62 comes with Wisepilot and NeoReader, 2 bloatware compared to my earlier .58 firmware.

What's the battery life like? I'm on .58 and battery life is shockingly bad (12 hours, light use, consuming 70+ mA when idle), and am looking for a better firmware, such a shame I can't go back to 2.3.2

Can you give a feedback on the reception of this baseband? Maybe post your Battery use details for Cell Standby? Much appreciated!

you can look at the reception by just flashing the 64 baseband provided in this rom.. just flash via flashtool and exclude system & kernel

Yeah already done, I was just wondering if he saw any improvements or not and could share them. Anyway I will test it for a day

okay tell me this evening please how it's like.. i'm also curious if it's better than .58 firmware

Sure man, I'll report

thanks alot !

Use it for around 10 hours now. In that 7 hours of deep sleep few apps removed. I still have 92% which is great. I'm think about stick with this firmware for a while
Thanks for uploading the firmware.

What do you mean? Are you using the stock kernel of .62? Custom kernel? I was actually wondering about the baseband only but I guess it's a good start.
Currently testing baseband .62, Doomlord's kernel, MIUI. Will report and maybe start a thread about the battery usage of each baseband.

In india DDJP4 is the newest rom.
1.Camera crash bug is fixed.
2.in camera settings there is a new gps option to enable or disable geo tagging.
3.it seems less laggy than any other previous roms.
And there is the sound distortion bug when screen is unlocked.
But we can get rid of this by using fugumod kernel.
XXJPQ up now
Flashed this rom 36 hours ago., and fully charged it. 30 hours of regular use with calls, meessaging, music, GPS, setting up my settings and syncing, downloading my apps from the market and trying out the cam etc etc.., the battery is down to 15%
GPS lockes in seconds, new market app, new Google Maps, (not the newest but newer than all the other roms).
Rooted, but no custom kernels nor themes. No lag what so ever and no noices in calls or in music. followed claknov's tips and deactivated powersave and screen sounds made the GUI much more smoother.
i <3 this rom. will upload some screenies soon.. (coz i found the font to be a bit more clearer than earlier but it could just be in my head)
screenies... customized to my liking and using launcherpro...

Are there any chance that I could just download the office firmware as showed but not install to my phone? Thanks.
i'am use pc companion, where do i can find the update files
great, this guide helps me to create a backup of my generic fw .62
after creating a backup I downgraded my fw to .42 via wotan server,my question is will this also works on backing up my current fw w/c is .42? Im just confused coz i think update service will just download the .62 fw because that was the latest version.
sadly after rooting, I am unable to update to .62 via OTA. the phone datects that there is an update (.62) but it wont let me do it OTA. it says I need to used PC companion.
Hello, it's possible decrypt files from wotanclient instead of seus???
Will this method update my phone to .62? I want back up my .42 firmware before I update OTA to .62.

4. Wake up significant faster than prev firmware
5. One hand operation option under keyboard
6. Levels of brightness control for browser
Nice!!!Thanks for sharing!!!

For Germany Debitel.
Is this an OTA update which will hit WW? Is it english, not sure if that's a silly question just don't want to download and flash something that is useless!

Have flashed it and it had no bloatware at all. Just a standard Samsung firmware. And it does not lock your phone. I am in Sweden and using it with Three without any problems. But it has the same market problems as KL3 that some local apps might not be available in the market.

You can try and post your results for others. I am not running this. I just tested to make sure my ftf functions properly.
I'll give it a shot later and see, just have to figure which files to exclude after getting root. I'll let everyone know.
what the difference? from the first release? any notation given by TMO?
Can someone test if this rootkit work on 10.3.1.E.0.191?
It uses master key exploit (bug 9950697) and if Sony didn't fix it we can root .191 without flashing old kernel.

It likely wouldn't work, but it might. The baseband on the 6602 is very similar, but not exactly the same. If you used flashtool and SKIPPED baseband and kernel, it MIGHT work on the 6603 and 6602, but there is a risk of brick from what I understand. This phone is my daily and I haven't backed it up yet, but I might try it - with a locked bootloader you can't REALLY kill it, it's relatively safe (emergency recovery?) I have a 6603, and I've flashed 6606 baseband only in the past. The phone boots but once it initializes the radio, crashes. (likely because the kernel drivers for the radio are different then what baseband expects.)
This also may have been covered before and I would like to know if my above statement is true.

I am rooted but I have found a way to do so in a rather abnormal way.
I use xz recovery app to get to twrp. I have rooted the phone using Root_with_Restore_by_Bin4ry_v33
This method I use works 100% all the time.
I have a locked bootloader so this routine I use seems to be the only method to work.
WHen I need, I use flashtool to restore everything to stock.
I think the newest update with ftf would be the next best step for be to acquire.
I dont like trying to flash kernels. Too much involved. This particular phone has posed a huge troublesome step by step method to get it where it is now.
To go and learn new methods would be a daunting task.

Hello there! I'm new to flashing firmware on Sony, is it ok for me to just flash the firmware using the flash tool? Before, I'm using Samsung and if flashing the official firmware using Odin, the binary count wont change. I seriously don't have a clue is it the same thing in Sony or does Sony do have this binary count.

Yes you can flash and find guides for flashing at the general section of Xperia Z1.
