@ALL devs, THANKS - Galaxy S I9000 General

Hi there!
This thread was opened just to give a huge THANKS to all the devs that are keeping our "old" sgs as a top notch phone even today, about 18 months since its release. I must say that due to all your work with roms, kernels, themes, mods, tweaks etc. Im getting happier and happier every day to be an sgs owner. Im spending alot of time reading and flashing but I just can´t imagine all the time you guys spend on developing!
So to all the people like me, remember to thank and give credits to your developers. Without them, our phone wouldn´t be what it is today
So once again, @ALL DEVS, THANK YOU!
/Jocke

I'd like to give my thanks to the devs, too! Amazing job!
We shall use this thread to give you all thanks instead of cluttering up the development forum with unnecessary posts!

Thank you

Just wanted to say how much I love these forums and how great everyone is with helping out and contributing. My last three phones have all been wonderful experiences due in no small part to the work of everyone on these forums. You guys all deserve a pat on the back.

Thanks brotha'
Your a part of the great community here as well so make sure to pat yourself on the back as well.
Even tho I wont meet you guys irl I really do appreciate all the insight everyone brings. Even if I disagree with somebody I still appreciate them even bringing an idea I didn't have before to my head. Its also amazing to have such a helpful community that will help each other out just for the good of the group (like a wolfpack). I continuously make people on here my contacts just so I can read up on their posts and what they had to say since I respect their opinions so much.
There is strength in numbers guys, and this group is one of the strongest out there.
Since I haven't made one of these threads in awhile either I have to say thank you guys for being a great group that I can rely upon when need be and a great source of insight
I'd also like to say thanks to all the people who've answered my silly nooby questions since Febuary. And also big thanks to developers like Enomther.
I also benefited a lot from the xds-developers gang. Thanks a lot !
It started with a HTC Diamond running Windows Mobile. I've flashed roms, modified the phone and downloaded a lot of software.
Now that I have a N1 coming up in a few days, I'm busy learning about Android and understanding the N1 to make the most of it. On xda-developers of course !
THANKS - THANKS
I too would like to say a big THANK YOU ALL!!!
If I win the lottery I'm going to build a huge developer center and get every dev on overtime... Well compensated of course lol

DEVS and the hard work

I have been lurking here for a couple of months now. Trying different roms initially then flashing different kernels. I don't know much about this stuff at all but want to learn. Hopefully I can start learning some coding soon as well. I love this forum and watching the ways in which all of these different mods, roms, etc grow within the community.
From the beginning I have taken the word (rules) of this forum at face value. I have followed (and agree with) READING THE WIKI's. To me they are indispensable. I have read (yes even the 500+) all of the posts that I am interested in learning about. This patience has paid off! Every time I follow your instructions and search threads for answers to possible issues, everything turns out right.
Finally, I came into this forum not wanting to ask for ETA's. There are so many people here putting there daily lives aside, FOR DONATIONS, for our gratification. To me there is nothing more insulting than asking for something you don't deserve. Be grateful. Think about someone asking you to put hard work (time) into something for you that you may or may not get paid for. Charity can only go so far.
Thanks to all of the devs who put there hours into this. LIFE=TIME....
You obviously don't owe us your time.
Hopefully I can start really learning the languages soon and hopefully start contributing to take some of the weight off you guys.
Great job guys!!!!

I know its a semi older thread but I just wanted to echo this same thought & didnt want to start another thread.
As with Mattlebla I've been lurkin for the past few months. With all the hard work and donation of TIME from all the Dev's & ppl whom help others have absolutely given way way more value to us Hero owners.
To all the awesome Dev's we are extremely grateful, thankful & indebted to your hard work. Thank you so damn much! That can't be said enough.

ALL THANKS to the freakin' great community at XDA!

Take a moment and Thanks our notorious Devs.

I just got my tab and I tell you im reallyimpressed to see so much development on this device & all the credit goes to our selfless, hardworking Devs. So I request ya'all to take a moment and thank all our Devs.
Thanks so much guys you are amazing. Keep up the great work.
Thank them with a money contribution.
I want to big-up Oldmacnut (aka Jim, aka Mr Stink Finger)
Not everyone can afford to contribute. That's why its a donation and not a charge...
It's nice if you can, the devs still have bills to pay too but sometimes it's just not possible to scrape together any cash (been there, done that)...
It's good to acknowledge them and thank them though if you can't afford to donate, makes them feel appreciated, after all they are sharing the efforts of their labours (which they would've still done anyway - the work not the sharing) with all us poor Android programming illiterates out here who have no technical knowledge or no idea where to begin.
Of course, showing written gratitude is important, but check download stats - contributions-to-download is one-to-thousands.
And really, this device is a luxury item. So anyone using the tab with custom roms isn't in a dire financial situation.
same here, just got my first android tab and its amazing!!
Tks to Task650's rom, its so smooth!
I wish I could tks him but I still need more posts
Thanks to the notorious Developers
Hi guys, I'm such a noob and have trolled the site for a few months to now realize that I should show some gratitude for all the good work you guys have done.
Love the noob video btw!
I have a Galaxy Tab, upgraded it with Gingerbread it's fantastic.
Thanks, Hans
I´m using custom ROM (Overcome Kratos) since de first moment i bought (ebay) my used P-1000. I can´t ask questions (don´t want to disturb using pm) and i still have some issues to make the GT run smoother. I owe "thanks" to the developer and, why not donation, as soon as the forum give me rights to post and get help.
yeah give thanks and donate.
Donated and thanked oldmacnut for his work on the cdma tabs, his roms are great

Big Thank You

Hey folks
Just wanted to drop a big THANK YOU to all the helping folks here in the forums and the awesome developer community.
You're just great.
I started reading these forums half a year ago. No clue of android.
Just an old HTC desire ...
So I startred reading the dummy how-tos, decided to root my Desire, what lead me to the root how-tos.
After rooting, the customer support of HTC sucked. I flashed cyanogen7.
Happy till today. (link2sd ^^ ... )
Then I rooted my Transformer 101, flashed a bunch of roms, got stuck in the recovery loop, many of us know, got out of it, flashed new recovery, flashed different kernels, than the Roms include ...
And all just by reading these forums.
Damn, you guys rock \m/
I posted a very similar thread here myself a few months back..isn't it awesome here? (besides the obvious trolls lol)
I'm learning to develop ROMs and apps now thanks to the community here, learned how to use git, and even met a few people that I work with now outside of the site on android development. Community is the best part of this place, but even lacking the community the information here is massive lol

You're right. But I as a dummy I fell some kind of mercy with all those, that take the time to explain something a 100 times, that was explained at the start of a topic ...
The amount of information here is truly massive.
Big thanks from me too. I start reading this forum 4 months ago and tunned up my transformer. It's alot better than wen i bought it...
It's a fantastic community and it must have our appreciation!
Yes..agree
There's some great folks here in all sorts of threads..
Some grumpy old folks
Some green folks
Some pain in the arse folks..
But as a whole it makes for a better user experience for us all on our devices.
Edit.. and a thanks to the Mods for keeping us all under control..

Amazing!

Hello guys! I would like to leave a message of thank you to every each one of you present at this forum. I must say we are a great community. I've learned on 4 months more than what I would learn at university about programing C, Java, Linux and many other tools available to developers. Before going on vacation, I thought of leaving this thanks because it leaves me quite happy how people are amazing.
For instance, when i started my ROM project at March , i had a computer where took me 6 hours to compile a ROM. Imagine the patient to sort bugs, build problems and many other things I couldn't even move myself to improve further since i was learning and solving a small build error, which took exactly 1-2 hours by each try to see if worked, or when I had to restart the compilation, since i had to clean the build and start all over again. There were some kind people which donated, and I invested that money on machine parts to continue improving the rom and to deliver better results. But the truth was that, I had a very old computer, and concluded quickly that I had to buy a new machine. Since I had no money for it, I thought on developing apps until I was able to buy one. By luck, there was a member which was kind enought to share a server, and since then it took me around 1 hour and 30 min to make a complete compilation here i shared with this community a mix of commits from many developers, where i try to bring an improved and better ROM.
I've learned quite alot, as also had small miss understandings with some people. But thats part of life right? Even so, I think i can call easily call them "friends" since we've been together in this forum.
I want to thank for all patient and wonderfull support done by @savoca , because if wasn't him I would problably taken much longer. He is so amazing that he took around 2-3 hours per day of his time to help. I'm gratefull about it. He is an amazing developer. Very patient and a great friend.
I also went in panic many times over building a ROM. And @katinatez was there to help. He was always ready to do it quickly
There are also other developers such as: @Sultanxda @Lord Boeffla @ZaneZam @ak @DerRomtester @Setting.Out @dorimanx and all of those people which supported and donated for this. Thanks to you, I learned really alot, but still am a novice.
Just wanted to leave this message to you guys of thanks, because It's really great to know people which share their knowledge for free. Is not for everyone that. You guys proven on this forum, and on your life that you are all sucessfull in what you do, and i am really proud to know you all.
Cheers have a great day and wonderfull summer!
Best regards,
Jorge
