[Q] Iconia A501 rom with language Hrvatski/Croatian - Acer Iconia A500

Can someone check if this exists ?

First, you have posted the same thing several times, . Usually, 1 posting for each problem is enough.
Duplicate post's sometimes get deleted by the moderators, and it would be a pity if somebody posted a fix, and the mods deleted it because you posted several times.
With that said, I can say that I checked Harkon Rom, and it doesn't have Croation language support. The closest is Russian language.
Stock Roms are distributed based on Region. Usually, they have a region code in the file name. Unfortunately, the stock roms that the devs use, obviously didn't come from your region of Eastern Europe.
But, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to take a stock 3.2 rom from your region, and apply the SU file in the package, remove a couple of files, and flash it to your system. This would result in a rooted Stock 3.2, complete with your language support. You can always flash Thor's stock Kernel afterwards.

[Q] Installing an official ROM of a different region

Hi all,
I have a Western Europe ROM (unbranded) on my WF updated to 1.25.405.1. It is running ok but I'm missing some features (such as Thai fonts). I'd simply like to use an Official Asian one instead.
This RUU would do the trick I guess
RUU_Buzz_hTC_Asia_WWE_1.15.707.1_Radio_13.45.55.24_3.35.15.31_release_131306_signed.exe
but it wouldn't work due to region difference.
I have read quite a few threads regarding rooting, goldcards, custom roms and reverting... and now I'm confused... I don't need root if not necessary, and I don't feel ready for custom ROMs... Just changing regions.
Could someone tell me a simple way if there is to change to another region official ROM or point me to a topic that deals with that ?
Thanks!

Need help with Samsung Galaxy Note, Language, Battery,WIFI other stories in detailed.

Hey everyone,
I am new here. Please help me out. This is the story. My uncle bought me a Samsung Galaxy Note from HK (Hong Kong). I am really stuck with this phone.
These are the problems I have.
1. Language:
The phone came with Chinese language I guess. I want to change it to English. Which ever website I try to browse is in Chinese language.
2. Keyboard:
The keyboard is also in Chinese language.
3. Softwares/Apps:
All the apps that it comes with are in Chinese Language. Even browser.
4. Battery:
There are some Chinese apps running at the background and its draining the battery. I don't know whether its apps or something else. Battery was full before sleeping, in the morning only 47% left. I don't know whether is this normal or not.
5. WiFi:
Because of the battery issue, I turned off the WiFi. But after like 15 to 20 mins the WiFi gets turned on by its own. I will have to turn it off again. I am not sure about this too.
This phone is really weird.
6. Upgrade to latest version:
I wanted to upgrade the phone to the latest android version. I don't know how to do that too. I am sorry is this is the trillionth question asked by new members. I did searched and have some youtube videos, but in all the youtube videos, I saw lots of members posting about XDA. So I came here.
I still think I can fix all the above issue by installing a fresh OS on this phone. Still not sure how thing works.
Hope I can fix all the issues with the help of XDA members.
P.S. Kindly please link me to youtube videos, since I am new to everything, I want a video guide.
Thanks in advance and your kindness.
EIDT: Holy, I was browsing all the forums, accidentally posted on General section. Mods/Admins, kindly please move it to Q/A section. I am extremely sorry.
simple: go to developer's subforum for Note, read the sticky post by Dr. Ketan on how to change your firmware using PC Odin. once you do that, you will be starting on a fresh install and choose English.
as for your battery drain, use cpu spy and better battery stats (you need to be rooted) so that you may be able to see which causes your battery drain. being rooted and installing custom kernel like speedmod, goku or franco, your battery drain issue will be addressed most of the time, but you really have to dive in and see what's causing it.
^^ he has created many thread. I don't know which thread to get started. Could you please help me out linking me the exact thread?
EDIT: Is there anyway to install Indian version of ICS on this HK Note? The current version of the Note is 2.3.6
Here is the best place to start:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1424997
Check the sticky threads in the developer forum and you will find lots more excellent advice.
For language change - go to Settings > Language and Inpt and select first option and select your language No need to reflash
Just watch and follow these two videos...its made by Indian ...so its easy to understand...good luck...
I have a new problem now. Odin is not detecting the phone when I switch it to Download Mode :|
EDIT: Installed Kiea and now Odin detecting the phone but when I pressed Start, it processed sometime then it said "Failed". :/
Woah, I have finally installed ICS 4.0.3 Indian version on the phone.
Thanks a lot XDA members. Now I will have to root it.
Thanks a ton.
If you are on ICS and rooted it, dont factory reset or recovery data wipe. Read the forum about the danger, you might incounter the superbrick bug.
Whenever you feel like trying a new rom...go back to GB....never....EVER....try to install it on this one...go to KL3 for safest installation...

Here you go...
Here is the method I use to flash new ROMs
Flash Stock GB Rom -> Root + CWM -> Flash the new ROM.
I installed Mobile Odin so that I don't have to always connect the device to comp to restore, it helps me flash safely on the go. Mobile Odin has an option to root the firmware while flashing it so reduces a lot of work. You can select a different kernel with CWM recovery before flashing so you can directly boot into the CWM recovery and flash ROMs
One more advice stick to ROMs which use CM9 because CM9 kernel is supposed to be the safest out there compared to the others.
Hope this helps
I have a Hong Kong Galaxy Note. It is possible to change it entirely into English, as I have. There should also be an English keyboard installed as well as the Chinese keyboard. I didn't have any Chinese apps installed on my Note - are you positive you got the HK Note and not the rather different Chinese mainland version?

[Q] I9500 Camera Issue and Installing ROMs of Other Countries

Hello,
I am quite confused by the fact that there's way too many stock ROM versions out there, each one seems to be targeting a different country and with no obvious changelog. So my two questions:
1- Has the camera issues been fixed any available ROM and/or kernel? Stock or modified. By issues here I specifically mean the lag when opening and the fact that it will crash the system if you have more than 4 processes running.
2- Can I install any stock ROM on my device? I mean different countries or cryptic symbols like "open CRM" or "German DMT" or stuff like that. If the answer is yes, is there anything special I should backup? I read about having to backup something like the IMEI or else the mobile data won't work. I am familiar with TiBu and doing Nandroid backups, are they enough?
I have an I9500 I got from Egypt, running stock ROM build number: JDQ39.I9500XXUAMDK and kernel version: 3.4.5-526212.
I am sorry if there is any common sense I seem to be missing, I tried my best searching before posting. Thanks in advance.

I was living the same situation as your with the camera having the MDK FW version.
The simplest way to have the better camera working is to upgrade from this buggy MDK firmware to any other upper, MEA the fisrt.
Choose region close to your in the stock availabilty at SAMMOBILE site, or go to a custom rom. They are "few" available in the dev section and they are all about good.

Thank you a lot. But what about the IMEI and CSC? Will it just work if I flashed a stock ROM via ODIN or the modem won't work because it's a different country?

Sure the CSc will/must change but it has little importance, you will be updated by Kies (if you want follow this way, according your new CSC.
MODEM and IMEI are not modified 'hopefully' with this update.
From my side I flashed wananlite 1.8 custom rom that is complete with stweaks included for sound modification and will never come back under KIES hook....
your choice is up to you, if cautious read some other threads giving all explanation and learn to get skills!

Omega rom question

Excuse my ignorance but this is the first device I have rooted, installed twrp (find it easier than cwm) and installed a custom rom. I successfully rooted days ago and decided to see what all the hype about the omega rom was about. I installed v10 for my gt19505 s4. It worked perfectly (after I installed the wifi fix) and I absolutely love the rom. Then a new release v11 came out a couple of days later. Now I was sceptical about flashing this new version because it says it is based on firmware ZHUMDH6. Now this is where my inexperience shows. I installed v10 because it was based on firmware XXUBMH1. When I type the code *#1234# into my phone this is what it states I have. I thought that had to be the file I downloaded to exactly match my phone. Than I went on to read comments by people stating they installed v9 then v10 and so on, so I started thinking maybe they are all for the gt19505 and just BASED on the firmware and not a requirement for your phone to match that firmware.
Is this correct?? As I stated it is working well (occasional pause and stutter at first but nothing that a reboot didn't fix- and wifi is working without the fix) So do I need to match the roms exactly to what that code stated (*#1234#) or just my model - ie gt-19505 international
Hope this makes sense
its completely irrelevant - a firmware code is just a code given to that release (all done in order by samsung, letters, numbers)
I seriously suggest you spend some time reading/educating yourself - if you have to ask questions like this on a developer forum, flashing custom roms may not be for you
Plus, this belongs in q&a

[Q] Another-CSC based ROM flashing can make problem?

Hello, I am using SM-N9005 32GB, Black.
First, I am sorry cause my English is not good.
I bought from internet shop this, when I ordered EU region product, but I just received XME(Malay).
I want to flash a ROM DBT(Germany) or other EU countries, but I am afraid to make any problem by flashing another CSC-based ROM. Can it make any problem(KNOX Warranty, Hard-brick or other problems...) by flashing another CSC-based ROM?
If it doesn't make problem, I will flash EU region ROM.
and, any requirements for change another-CSC based ROM(Rooting etc...)?
Please help me.
From what I have read (may not be 100% right!), changing CSC doesn't do anything to your phone eg, Trip KNOX etc, unless you flash a custom ROM, Root etc and does not brick. - As long as you are flashing Official Firmware of course.
You will get updates from a different region though, wait and see if someone more experienced posts just to be sure what I have said is 100% -

Thanks for your answer.
Now I already flashed British Unlocked(BTU) ROM, but I cannot change my CSC code XEM(Malay) to BTU.
I will search articles to change my csc code.
Thank you.
Have a look at this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2461929 There is some CSC files there, but make sure you read and I'm sure if they're wrong there will be more recent one's posted further in the thread. Good luck.
