I have been using my phone for about two hours straight now and it seems that android OS is using more battery than the screen. I thought the screen was the biggest battery drain.
Before you ask, this is the stats right from a fresh charge.

Hi. It has been two weeks since I got the nexus 7. At first, the battery lasted for a long time. Now I'm realizing that it is draining much quicker than it is supposed to. What should I do?

My battery isn't very good either. Brightness on 0 percent and still only getting about 6.5 hours of screen time.

I purposely left my phone off charge over night to see how much battery drains. In 8 hours it drained 20% with is wrong??

Sounds like your device isn't sleeping. My standby battery life is excellent, less than 1% an hour. On my old N7 I had to turn WiFi off to get good standby, on this one I usually just leave it on as it still doesn't lose anything to speak of.

So yesterday I spent the day rooting and installing CyanogenMod and still I'm losing 2.5% battery an hour in standby/sleep mode! What's the deal?

Deal is stock will always give you the best battery life. Also, ROMS usually take few days to settle after flashing.

So i am going to put this out there for some advice on what is going on. I've had my N3 for a few months and battery life has been outstanding. But recently it has been terrible. I use wifi most of thr day and I only have GPS on when I need it. I had an issue yesterday with com.samsung.indexservice using literally all my battery. Reboots and battery pulls did nothing. Then after a full charge last night I unplugged and left the house. These are my results. Indexservice is not using battery but something else is. I'm clueless to what it is. Any help is appreciated. I am not rooted and do not intend to.

Hi,
Since about a week ago my nexus suddenly started to die at about 30-40%, it depends. I don't really care about the fact that my battery is empty, but the fact that it happens on 30% and I don't receive a notification at 14% is really annoying. Is there a fix for this?
I'm running Aicp with stock Aicp kernel.
EDIT: Since I stopped charging my battery percentage hasn't changed for about half an hour.
Edit 2: I rebooted and now it's 41%.. Really strange

It's getting worser now, it usually turns off when it's around 40% and around 50% I lose connection with mobile network and can't connect any more. I've tried different radio's but had no effect. I'd really like to know how to fix this. Or is the only solution to buy a new battery?

Take the back off the phone and see if your battery is bulging. This sounds like a battery issue. I had similar symptoms on my last phone. I took the battery out and spun it like a top.

Yeah I had it with my old galaxy Y too, my battery became so fat the battery cover didn't fit any more. But that happened slightly, this came out of nothing.

Haha, I was with friends and suddenly I noticed that I was able to spin my phone, and together with the fact that the battery was acting strange I thought it must have been swollen. And yesterday I saw a little lump.

Your battery stats will not be accurate until you drain more of your battery.

Slight battery drain? Your phone was only on for 17 seconds. Are you trolling us?
I wish I was trollin, really though... I had just pulled it off the charger at this time but typically average use would kill the battery after say I pull it off at 10am ish... To about early evening
