Question is this. I changed my theme to a standard blue theme from the today settings but i cant get it back to the standard black theme that was in effect when i installed the touchflo rom.. anyone know how to get back to the black theme??
Also....after installing the touchflo rom i noticed that i was missing a couple applications. One in particular is Tzones. I have a hotspot service and cant log on because i dont have the login screen.. anyway i can get this back to my phone? the IM client was also lost but i found this...
any help would be greatly appreciated!
Mike
Which touchflo rom did you download? If you got the one for the wing, go into Start>Settings>Today>T-Mobile_Default_Blue should be the OEM theme. Hope that helps a little.
Well initially the phone was apparently set to the Mobile_Default_Blue but was a black theme. When i switched it and went back to it then it was blue. I really liked the black theme and want to switch back but i havent a clue how to do so....i've been searching. Help is greatly appreciated.
I'm running the PDAVIET v14 rom.....Being as this is not a tmobile rom the myfavs are not on it. Its not a huge deal, as a matter of fact i dont even really care. But i wouldnt mind getting the tzones back until my total internet package takes effect on the 23. any suggestions anybody?
In that same Today settings tag you should be able to select which items to show up on the today screen, and there should be an option for T-zones there. Or you could flash a different rom onto your wing that supports T-zones if you can't find it there.

I have the PDAVIET .14 ROM and MyFaves are, in fact, in it. You just need to use a tool like Memaid 2.0 to find the link and add it to your start menu or the Home Page. That's what I did, and it's working fine.
TZones should also in the ROM, and can probably be added in the same way.
Well....i'll keep looking into the Tzones issue. It is nowhere on my phone. I really do like the touchflo rom and the cube feature so i dont neccessarily want to switch roms. I wouldnt mind having it back on the phone as i get ringtones and such from there (thats pretty much it) Is there away to put it back on the phone without having to find another rom?? Or is there a better way to get ringtones?
As for the myfaves, thats not a huge concern either...i'm sure that even if you dont have the myfaves selection on the phone you can still use the service..you just have to manage them on mytmobile.

So I not really familiar with the app Memaid 2.0. how exactly would i go about finding these apps with that program. I dont mind installing it and trying to find it but i wouldnt know where to start. And is there any other program that does the same thing...i mean, i dont truly feel like paying 20 bucks for it, anywhere else i can get it from?
Ok, download and run the Wing Touch it ROM from Tyer's thread. It will still run and operate like the touch, but have all the same features of the Wing RUU, like Myfaves, T-zones, IM clients, etc...
I appreciate all of your help.....like i said the myfavs and tzones are not a hell of a big deal but i guess they are sorta convenient. So the Touch it rom VERSUS the touchflo rom is pretty much identical with the exception Touchit was made with the standart apps from tmobile? I truly like the cube feature and dont want to loose it...if they're the same except for the preloaded apps, i would do it....so this is the case??
Again, you guys have been very helpful, thanks a bunch!
For the black bars, under extra, (within programs) there should be a "glossy black bars" icon. Click on it.
Ur probably talking about Glossy Black Bars
go to ur programs, it should be there, just click it n it'll change
Just Wondering
I was just wondering if any1 has devised a way to use a portion of your sd memory as ram some how?? or is this a stupid question??
its an interesting idea, but SD is too slow to use for RAM
UPS just dropped off my new phone...and i'm excited!
However, i don't know wtf i'm doing So, I turn to you for help. I'd like to get this thing up and rockin' like today so hopefully all this goes smoothly.
1. How do i get Touchflo 2D installed(or any programs/mods for that matter?)
2. Necessary updates? What do i need?
3. WM 6.1(or current version)? Where do i get it and how do i install it?
4. Any tips? Ideas? "You should know's..."?
We'll start with that. I'm pretty sure i'll be a regular 'round these here pert's
Thanks in advance!
alright...so after enough research to figure things out i've gotten this far...
1. Done
2. got all v18 Manilla updates, anything else I need/shoudl get?
3. I noticed the default ROM is a bit sluggish, and have read a bit about thsi one -> "nueROM 3 6152-3pre3"...thoughts? where do i get it?
4. refer to #4 above
My NEW question is...Is there a way i can write up my contacts list from my old phone on my computer(faster typing) and import it?
oh yeah, and im having a hell of a time trying to change a manilla skin...how is that done? It says to place the contents of the folder in the windows directory, but that doesn't work.
Nuerom 3 is available at Nuerom.com
Nuerom 3 is available at Nuerom.com. You need to donate to get an account, just donate a buck.
also, being new to this...
what is "cooked ROM" ?
"cooked" refers to a ROM that has been assembled by people other than the original providers of the phone. I think 'hacked' is probably a more technically accurate term, but cooked sounds better.
The nueROM is a cooked ROM. DCD is another common ROM type as well.
Here: http://ppc.stoleyour.net/xv6800/ is a great tutorial on how to flash the latest DCD rom. This is the one I'm using. Very stable. I've heard promising things from the nueROM 3, but I'm not quite prepared to change over to that... mostly because I'm not looking forward to having re-install/configure my device.
I do have a question though, Did you get this phone in mind for SPRINT?, Because it was an offly awful time to get it, because the HTC Touch Pro is coming out on the 18th of this month (October)
And even if you werent seeking this phone for sprint, im pretty confident that some ROM Chef out there would be willing to make roms and carrie CABS for specified CDMA Networks.
Well goodluck with ur mogul, as im not having much with mine, im terribly regretting the fact i got it only because of its incredibly crippled RAM. Well have a good day
I think the latest DCD ROM is more stable and more free RAM available after the install. Also the kitchen is available and plenty of OEMs to put in the kitchen to cook into the ROM. There is a WiKi link in the sticky notes and how to upgrade your phone to the latest. I have been using the Titan (Verizon VX6800) for almost a year and love it. I don't think that the HTC Touch Pro is going to give you anything more than what you get with a Titan except maybe more memory to run apps. They have already got the interface working on the Titan (Manilla 2d) and are working on the Manilla 3d as well. I prefer the SPB Mobile Shell myself. More info on the Now screen for me to see email and calendar, plus the contacts screen is much better for either calling or texting.
Keep looking through this forum and the Titan Upgrading forum for all kinds of info and apps.
To be completely honest. I'm a little pissed at the moment about this phone. Keep in mind im a noob.
1. My texts' don't say the contacts name on them even after saving the name, just the number shows up. I failed math 3 times in a row in college so i don't do numbers (and im a flash developer...go figure)
2. SLLLOOOOOWWWWWW...this thing CRAWLS, at least with the original ROM. Whats the latest and greatest ROM out there?
3. Half of my SH*T isn't working right, granted i'm using all of this modded stuff, but even still...no internet, phone buttons are dumb, landscape isn't working right...
4. i apologize, i know there are more people out there that like this phone than don't like it...i'm just venting over the frustration of learning a new piece of software/hardware...
and also...i'd like to get some of this taken care of before i get too far into saving names, etc. in thsi thing and have them magically erase cause of a crash lol
Wrong but right.

You are quite wrong.... The Nue-rom 3 has MUCH more free mem upon boot. Nearly 27 megs. I find Nuerom MUCH faster.
Hello All!
Ive been looking high and low and there isnt one thread specifically adresses my problem with push internet, Im running a custom cooked rom with the lastest manilla and opera 16983 (the one with the htc logo on startup). Other people have managed to get it working but my phone dosent even show a sign that it trying to pre load anything, ive tried some enable push cabs but no avil. Does anyone know if im missing anything or could possibly help me troubleshoot this.
bump - i know someone can help
yea id love to know this one to cause push internet is non existent on my rom to an im using sheps wm6.5 rom w/tf3d 2 and ive always wanted to know why it didnt work etc!!!
have you tried the cab by yozgatg, it's for Gen.Y rom but perhaps it works for you ! here http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=194411&d=1244657867
tried it for the 3rd time dosent work... i have a feeling its somthing manilla related
push internet?
i think you're getting your terminology mixed up
win-mo devices have push EMAIL capability if enabled through an exchange server but it has little to do with your internet access.
AFAIK there is no such thing as push internet
do you have a problem with internet access or push email?
d-signet - It is part of TF3D2....
I believe Push-net is fixed in the new port of TF3D2 2.1 by yoz...
but be warned...Push internet is the first thing I disable on my roms because it kills your battery life!
and RAM...!
and you data plan if you dont have an unlimited one!!!!
Hi everyone, I'm new to pretty much all of this. Iv had my HTC HD2 since Xmas eve and it's my 1st smartphone so I'm struggling a bit with all the jargon but i am determined to learn. I have a few questions and work odd shifts so don't get the time to search for all my answers so I'm hoping if i ask all in one thread someone will be kind enough to provide me with all the answers in one place.
1st of all, to help you out in giving me some answers this is the current software info of my phone and CABs iv already installed (thank's very much to you guys)

Now, theres a lot of jargon i dont yet understand so if someone could tell me what the following mean?
Manila
ROM
Radio
Cooked
Bricked
Flash
SSPL
HSPL
NBH
SPL
RRU
(I think thats all the terminology i dont understand ATM)
I have seen new versions of Manila and Sense posted on here, can anyone tell me the Pro's/Con's to installing these before i go ahead? Like what are they updating/fixing, and is it worth it? I want my phone to be its best.
Right, there the complicated questions (for me) but as i work odd shifts it will be easier for me to ask other advice in this thread aswel.
Is there any way to disable the hard "end call" key when in call as when I'm using my BT headset i hang up on people in my pocket. (I do have a CAB installed that disables it whilst ringing so i dont hang up getting it out of my pocket but it releases the key again as soon as its been answered)
Is there a way to stop WIFI disconnecting when the phone is in standby (I have the BsB Tweaks but the option doesnt seem to stay on)
Is there a way of setting the Mobile Web connection to automatically turn off when its not in use and back on again when needed (I.E if I'm browsing and minimize the app to put the phone in my pocket)
I see people favor the Igo8 and TomTom 7 (i think) Satnav apps but cant seem to find where to get either from, and help?
I can update my Facebook status at the bottom of my contact card in "all people" but it seems a bit of a silly place to put the feature, is there any way of making it a bit quicker to access? (I like the way it says "from my HTC" on the updated) or does anyone know of a decent facebook app? The best iv found so far is FIM but it crashes every time i update my status. Id like to be able to chat and Tag people in photo's (and tag in status' if at all possible)
Sorry for the lengthy questions and any help is GREATLY appreciated and if i think of anything else i need to know ill ask it in this thread.
Keep up the hard work guys and i hope to be as knowledgeable as you in a few months

Well for a new user, you certainly seem to have got your head around some of the modifications possible!
Terminology:
Manila: The HTC interface with the big digital clock and tabs. The HD2 comes with Manila 2.5 (= HTC Sense)
ROM: Read Only Memory, but for our purposes usually means the operating system itself, which can be written to the ROM of the device. There are standard ROMs like the HTC 1.48 update and cooked ROMs like those you see in the forums.
Radio: Usually refers to the part of the OS controlling radio functions, which are the phone signal receiver, Bluetooth and WiFi. This also contains the GPS drivers.
Cooked: A ROM that has been modified by a ROM 'chef' to make it either more up to date, more functional, or to give more available memory. Some better than others, and all technically void your warranty.
Bricked: A 'cooked' ROM needs to have the boot sectors of the device modified to allow the ROM to be installed. If this hasn't been done, the the device can get stuck in the middle of the update, hence the term 'bricked': it becomes basically an unusable brick. There can be ways out of it, but sometimes it's terminal.
Flash: The process of updating the physical ROM with a new ROM OS image
SSPL/HSPL/SPL: The SPL is like the BIOS of a PC. Stock SPLs don't allow updates other than from the manufacturer or the phone operator. SSPL (SoftSPL) is a temporary software fix that allows the ROM to be updated and HSPL (HardSPL) is a permanent fix that protects from bad ROM flashes.
RRU/NBH: RUU stands for ROM Update Utility and it is the PC executed process to update a ROM. It has a few steps such as checking versions, battery status then putting the device into a mode to allow the ROM update (Bootloader mode) then doing the actual update. The NBH file is the actual ROM file itself that overwrites the ROM. It is possible to copy the NBH file to a storage card and rename it, then do the update without connecting to a PC.

Hard end call button: I don't know, but I suspect not!
WiFi always on: There is a file or registry modification to do this, but why would you want to? The hit on the battery with WiFi on is enormous so keeping it on when in standby would soon see the battery expire. Unless you don't have a mobile data plan there's not a lot of point in keeping WiFi on.
Mobile Data on/off: There is a program called Modaco NoData that allows you to manually turn the data connection on or off. As above though, why would you want to? These devices are sold and used as 'connected' devices and mobile data is used for a lot of background updating like weather updates, MyPhone sync etc. An open but quiescent data connection has almost no impact on battery life, and only uses data when programs are set to do so.
SatNav: TomTom don't officially support the HD2, but there are many forum topics about how to get it workng as long as you buy the correct version. iGO8 is a bit different- it is not formally available in UK and even where is it available it has to be run from the SD card it is supplied on. Also, it is pretty expensive. If you have a legitimate copy, there are ways to make it work from a different SD card.
Facebook: No idea- I don't use it!
Thank you Neil, yea iv got my head round some of it, luckily im not a technophobe im just in new territory
I only want to keep the wifi on because i stream radio when at home when its on charge and the streams just stop when the device sleeps but thanks for the battery tip, ill remember to disable wifi when i know im not in range of any.
Mobile web, i do have an "unlimited data plan" but subject to fair usage policy so got me panicking a lil bit when i see its been connected for hours but knowing that it doesnt actualy use any data unless needed is good to know.
Thanks for he jargon busting as well, Iv seen that there are higher versions of Mania/Sense on here and im aware that they may void warranty but am i right in thinking a hard reset put's it back to factory original? If so, im happy to upgrade the version but what new features would i be getting? Id quite like the whole today and manila tabs to go landscape.
Satnav, ill probably stick with CoPilot as the 5 day demo it came with functioned better than my dedicated Sony satnav lol
Once again, thank you very much
If you want to maintain the WiFi when the device is on charge, the best way is to go into the Power settings, and set the parameters for 'External Power' to always stay on.
Even a USB charger is capable of maintaining a charge with the device turned on.
Regarding the Manila updates etc- you actually have to install a newer ROM to get these new features. I have to say that pretty much all the current 'cooked' ROMs have issues of one sort or another. Once the new ROM is installed, a hard reset only puts it back to how it was after that ROM was installed. You cna however always revery to a stock ROM if you need to.
Hi I have just recieved my phone back from telstra from repair the vibe stopped working...
While they had it they placed the latest rom on it... with all the updates built in...
Before I sent it away I had duties on it... but put telstra rom on for warrenty..
now that I have it back I decided to use it for a couple of days to make sure everything was good...
and find that again I'm faced with weather I really wish to put a cooked rom on my phone?
while useing duties I was very happy with it but I missed someof the things built in the telstra rom.
so is the a way of extracting things from one rom and putting them into another like mixing the telstra rom with stuff from duties..
or vise versa?
and how to I go about it? or could someone help me with it... I'm sure that there would be a bunch of telstra customers that would like to keep parts of their rom yet include parts of others...
I guess first I nned to get my current rom off my phone and onto hard disk.. so... bettter go look for how!!
As I understand it, I don't believe you can extract stuff(apps) out of the rom while its loaded onto your device. It needs to be had as a file on a pc before you(the chef) can start pulling it apart & mod for a custom rom. I also think that the custom roms the chefs build are using the official ones provided by HTC or TELSTRA themselves
Anyways if anyone out there does know, I'd like the MyAccount app so I can check my data usage through telstra
Well I have it as a file so I can pull it apart as soon as I can work out how to do it...
I just want to get rid of the bloat ware.
not all things are used by me...
then there are things in other roms that I really like to have..
I also don't really like the new windows... the buttons on bottom of the phone are way to big and take up tooo much space.
exactly what other stuff are you wanting so much that's detering you from switching? The only thing I wish I still had from the telstra rom is the myaccount app. Its been a while since i made the switch (as long as I've pretty much had it) & as far as i can remember the main thing that gave me the ****s was the locked icons on the hometab & all the fixed bigpond crap
Have you thought about trying a kitchen yourself?
Might be worth reading up on how to...
Chucky's kitchen comes with videos
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=618787&highlight=dialer
hope it helps
well I would like to keep the feature like foxtel and my account plus the Apps Store, TV, news and sport, social web. just for a few. off the top of my head..
it might be a bit of a long shot but have considered trying to install extra stuff on your stock rom? for instance cookies homatab with editor, & other cabs of your liking?
i know that with some apps you'll get a warning about unsigned apps but you can still accept to install. i think...
