Alltel just released the firmware update. And I found a Root for it as well. So I am Root.
BUT they have it just like Verizon has it now. You have to have mobile Hotspot plan, BUT only the new firmware can stop the use of the Wireless Tether.
So what I need is to downgrade my milestone X back to what it was before.. Like use a stock rom. But I can't access the clockwork recovery mode since I updated. I have searched almost everywhere. Please help me with this. I'm sure others are looking for a way to do this as well.
I can apply update.zip via Stock recovery mode, and i can also access bootloader.
Thank you
P.S: I'm new here, So if I posted this in the wrong topic area, Please just transfer it to the correct location. Thanks
you cannot sbf back to 2.2.... it will brick your phone, this has been talked about on other forums

Yep.
You have to flash stock firmware then update to kk.
You ca not install update with root or custom recovery

Did you try flashing black just the stock recovery? Been root should not be an impediment.

You don't loose root flashing stock recovery. Been under stock recovery should allow the OTA. Been on 4.4.2 you can flash black any other recovery.

I have 3 from Koodo. only one get update information last night.
I bought mine from Telus when it first came out, then unlocked it and went to Koodo. Would I have trouble getting updates on that basis?

No there won't be an issue. And you don't have to unlock it to use on Koodo. Moto G sold by Koodo and Telus run on identical firmware.

I'm noticing on other forums people that claim root is retained, did you have to reflash su or was it retained? Sorry for 20 questions... Just really cautious.

i did not even check just side loaded it right after the update after reflashing twrp
OK. I updated, root was retained. No need to side load it back. I didn't remove xposed first, I DID however turn off the modules. Everything is fine, turned mods back on and rebooted, still fine.

Thank you, the tutorial you linked worked and my phone is now rooted. Do you have a list of bloatware that is okay to remove, as in, can I remove beaming service?
