Hi there,
You haven't given much detail on your upgrade
But assuming you flashed a ROM, did you also flash the recommended radio?
If you did do both, give it a couple of days to settle down (try to resist the temptation to fill the phone back up with apps), then compare again.

What type of battery performance are you getting?
Check this. It helped me out alot. Improved my battery life alot.
Just go by instructions on how to flash the ROM properly (recommended). When you boot up the ROM for the first time just install "Current Widget" from market and "Battery Calibration". Plug the phone into the wall or computer and leave it to charge till 100%. Then just open the "Battery Calibration" app and calibrate the battery. Read more in the thread.

OK take a look at what your battery info says is killing your battery. There are alot of things that can effect the battery. When you did the update did you do a factory reset? What apps do you have running? Social networking Widgets updating?
this thread is stupid. you say you have crap battery, yet you fail to deliver any statitic, screenshots, usage etc.
4 hours what? standby? screen on time?

Dear 6696,
Pls go easy on me. Since the upgrade i did not do the reset for fear of loosing my settings and Apps. Simply said prior to the upgrade i spent 8 to 10 hrs with my phone doing everything and that includes listening to radio, surfing the net and making calls but after the upgrade it takes only four hrs doing same to finish the battery. Thanks.

And isn't there any App that can show what to stop killing the battery. I have stopped auto sync, display but still------

Google Maps was a massive battery drain for me. Try using the Sense Task Manager to kill the app for the time being and see if that helps at all.
Also Twitter (the official app) seems to be using a lot of battery too.

What do you hope to gain or expect from calibrating your battery? Better battery life? What is your typically daily usage? How much talk time do you use? How much surfing do you do? Any game playing? Music playing? Do you have push email accounts? Do you use BT and Wifi regularly? Do you turn off BT and Wifi when not using it?
Finally is this a stock Aria setup or have you rooted and flashed a custom ROM? If so, which one?
Lots of factors go into battery consumption and your actual mileage may varying.

Theres a method in the old cm6.0 thread if you search within that thread that works. But the technique I use now is time. Eventually the battery meter will calibrate itself with enough cycles. Just wipe battery stats from clockwork on a full charge.

So based on my experience with CM 6.1.1 and the usage patterns you mentioned, I would think that your battery should last at least a full day, right? It may even give you part of a second day. As CallMeAria mentioned in his post, I also found that clearing the battery stats and just letting the battery run through its cycles will give you pretty accurate meter readings over time.
Actually since I just updated yesterday I've noticed a reasonably longer battery life coming from fr008 so maybe I wont need it anymore

You can also do some bump charging but it's a hassle more than anything.
Basically, you just charge the phone to 100%, shut the phone off. After it's off you plug it in again and wait until the LED indicator turns green. Unplug it, then plug it in again and repeat. This method actually does work quite well but will shorten the battery's life span.
So... I was wondering... WHY DO WE GOT THAT PROBLEMS !?
If we take the NEXUS S Rom and convert it for our PHONES (GT540), where is the TRICK ? Why do we get that problems with the battery and te NEXUS S users not ?!
NEXUS S got the same battery like GT540 and after the GSMarena compare, the GT540 takes it much better then the NEXUS S !
CAN someone explain it maybe ?! Cause I really dont understand
Its the rom itself not the battery.

I know that thx for the reply... But where is the TRICK, why is the ROM quilty for that probs, why is everything else working just perfect and just the battery not ?!
Im sry for that topic and for that question, but Im gonna sell my phone cause of the freakin ****ty battery lifes on every better ROM
Well the rom has a file with the battery calculator. And this isnt calibrated right for all roms.
Also most roms are still under active development so dont get your hopes up about good battery life etc etc

I think battery problem have something with kernel, on 2.1 i use 4 diferent kernel (orginal lg, 666 infernal, quarx, pcfighter) and every kernel have diferent battery life, diferente dischargin steps. So... no orginal kernel no good battery life.

THX for you answer !
I have a Nexus S. The battery lasts 1 day If I use .It is not overclocked (yet) . The battery is same on gt540 it lasts 1 day if I use it.See the attached screenshots from my Nexus S.
What I usually do is that after the battery is charged to 100%, I reboot the phone in recovery and keep it plugged in and charge for anther 15 mins. That seems to give me an additional 1 hour as my phone stays at 100% for at-least an hour before falling back to 99%.
I have had my phone off charge for 5 hours and its sitting on 95%.

Really god i need to invest time in re calibrating mines shocking 13hrs then it died
Battery depends on few things.
1. Kernel
2. Rom itself
3. It will drain faster with data on.
4. Some crapy apps kill your battery.
Choose kernel and rom wisely. Turn off your data if you don't need it. Uninstall unnecessary apps

I fingered out how my battery is holding for 4 days now...
When you plugin your phone into charge mode... just dont let it to go into "SCREEN OFF"... make your Screen OFF to 30minutes and just hit the screen every 25 mins... or just install an app which doesent allow your phone to autoScreenOff it

I was told to post here..
I bin using litening rom v1.5 for like 2 weeks..everything was running fine untill 3-4 days ago my battery would drain in like 3 hours from 100%. After it drained i would try and charge it..it keeps freezing on the battery screen and changing all diff colours lile blue red green. When v2.0 come out i flashed it via odin. I done all the basics like wipe data/cache ect. After it flashed i recalibrated battery..but last night it done the same thing. Any help would be appreciated thanks
Btw when i go to battery usage 'Android OS' says 97%. I dont have any other apps running in the background nor have i changed any settings. Its all stock settings. I dont run any overclocking apps. Only root apps i have are cachemate, titanium and CWM

recalibrated battery not after flashing a rom,
but after the battery completely recharges.
I'm sure its battery calibration problem,
Do this
Let the battery die completely (let the phone turn off by itself)
Then connect charger and let it charge till you get charge full notification,
Then recalibrated your battery.
Btw next time if you have problem with some rom, make a post in that roms thread.
Dont start a new thread Especially in the wrong section.
Can I ask you who told you to post here?
Thanks very much. Erm i forgot who told me to..i think they meant in the offical litening rom thread i must of missed read sorry im new to this. One more quick question, should i use the battery calibation app i downloaded off the market or boot into cwm and wipe battery stats?
Sorry for the inconvinience

Dude, there are like three complete threads here with solutions to battery problems. Why did you create another one?
Two of them are in the very same section where you created this thread.
Solution to your battery life woes can be had by putting your sim back inyour iphone. The atrix and instructions to use this forum seem to be above your level of using technology. Btw, my battery life has been awesome.
I voided my warranty.

If you aren't comfortable flashing a new rom and/or freezing system apps, give the "2x battery" app a try. It certainly is an improvement to the stock battery life.
I really want to flash one but the program I need to install on my cpu won't install... I keep getting error msgs and no one has been able to give me a solution why yet.
I used to have an htc fuze and flashed roms almost daily so I have the knowledge but my machine isn't cooperating with the needed download to unlock.
Ill try the 2x battery, thank you for the help.

Could not disagree more. On my stock Atrix, I was getting just over 2 days usage (not just leaving the phone on the table) pretty consistently. Rooted and GB rom now, am getting a day and a half but am probably just getting the battery and rom used to each other lol
I don't get it, I had 80% 2 hours ago then went to 70% powered off and on and now I have 80% again?

My battery lasts about 3h max, im living the dream!
@ccrows- It only lets me select the daytime mode due to not having the PRO version. And I dont see in it where I can freeze apps?
It actually seems to be charging faster as well. How long does it take you guys to get a full charge from dead on average?
I'm looking specifically for an app that can help me find out what is using my battery at certain times. I am losing a lot of battery (25%) overnight when the phone is sleeping (like me) and I need to look in the morning to see what has consumed it. So, basically, an app that can be started at a certain point or reset, and viewed later and find what's using the battery. Anyone any ideas?
