Power measurement in Nexus S - Nexus S General

Hi all,
I am searching how to find out the voltage current supplied by the battery to the Nexus S.
I could read the value of voltage by
cat /sys/class/power_supply/battery/voltage_now
While I had read that there is also a file which supplies the current. However in Nexus S, there was no file which could give the value of current.
Is there any way to get the value of current supllied by the batter ?
Should I install another kernel/ROM and then check ?? (If yes, then which one should I choose)
Thanks,

[Q] Kernel Development (G2 specific)

Hello,
I have a Nexus 7 (2013) and one of the kernels available incorporates THIS Kernel tweak. (long story short, it essentially keeps the devices from charging above a specified voltage, resulting in the battery ceasing charge at a certain percentage...in my case 82%...thus increasing the longevity of the battery over the lifetime of the device.)
I would like to develop/build a Kernel for the G2 that does something similar, however the link I posted is specific to the charger driver of the Nexus 7. Can anyone offer any insight on the charger driver/capabilities for the G2?

[Q] Nexus 4 Charging Rate

Hi guys, some days ago I installed "Android Tuner Free" which has a battery section that shows you many things like the charging rate.
Here is the question, Should it display 1A or 1.2 like the value on the battery charger or it may vary?
If I obtain about 700mah should it be a charger issue?
Thanks :good:

the 1 or 1.2A is what the charger can supply. Typically chargers can supply more than what a phone can draw, which is the real question.
Looking through my charge/discharge history with Battery Monitor Widget, I see a few values above 725mAh (the phone will draw more current when the battery is empty, so I guess the upper limit will be around there).
Your case seems normal to me.

[Q] Battery voltage range and dimensions

I don't (yet) have the phone, so I can't answer any of these questions myself. I'd like to know, what is the minimum voltage (at close to 0% charge ) and maximum voltage (at full charge) you guys experienced on stock battery? Also, what are the measurements (H, W,T in mm pls) of the battery? Thanks in advance.
*edit*
Knowing minimum voltage is not so important right now. What I'd like to know most is whether the voltage ever exceeds 4.2v or not. Any quick answer would be highly appreciated. I'm leaving for a trip in a few hours and would like to know before then.

Low charging current on i9505, CM12.1 SABERMOD

So.. my s4 with CM12.1 SABERMOD(oct 15) has low charging current, 760 Ma.
My question is: Can i change it the charging voltage, if the kernel doens't support STweaks to change it from battery AC Charge current setting, like i do from others roms ?
asking in particular @Synergy510

You can change charging voltage but it must be an kernel that's supports changing Voltage for example: alcurd kernel, hulk kernel(an brand new kernel),etc.

Afaik, I didn't include it in my kernel. Was the current always low like this? And have you experienced higher currents on my ROM before? You should also try different combinations of chargers and USB cables to make sure either of those aren't bad.

Sounds like your charger is duff. Too many fakes on eBay I found. Get them from Amazon, fulfilled by Amazon. Also need a decent cable, they can be rubbish on eBay too. I went to JuicEBitz for mine.
Also check phone status, make sure it states AC and not USB
I also think it's the charger.

Real story: i was running prev version of saber (SaberModCM12.1-20151005) + Fly on mode and i had about 1000Ma, then i suggested my friend also with same phone to install saber(SaberModCM12.1-20151015) without Fly on mode, and he had 700Ma, after cause i had some lag cause of Fly on mode, and because i wanted to up my rom to lasted version i installed it (SaberModCM12.1-20151024-jflte-ecb6003d89-GCC4.9) and i had 700Ma too
I also tried another charger, and another outlet, same...
It's somehow annoying because the phone is charging slow, too slow, when i'm using it sometimes it just didn't charge it's go lower ...

Note 4 battery

Hi guys!
Can someone advice me on battery related question.
I've a note 4 and the origin battery capacity is 3220mah. I intend to change my battery for a new one and I notice in the market someone is selling compatible battery for note 4 and it's capacity is 4500mah larger than the original battery.
Can someone advice if a phone can use a battery that has larger capacity than its origin battery capacity?
I'm unable to attach image of the battery and link. Anyone any idea I can attach the image?

Yes you can use as higher capacity battery as you want as long as other parameters match to the official battery.
But If the battery is physically the same dimensions and size as the official battery then those higher Mah claims are likely false.
Higher capacity batteries require more cells and hence cant be the same size as stock battery.
I see.. Thanks NSH!
