So First i like to say a big Thank You to all the devs in this vibrant section that made the phone 150% better than what it was. Thanks to atimn, Sombionix, Jellette, Whitehawkx, Birgertime, Neobuddy89, nickmcminn60, Explodingboy, cmenard, drhonk, kyrlon360, brick'd and a big Thanks to Eugene373 (For being such a great guy in general and great Developer/kerneler). If i forgot anyone my apologies, its been a pretty long time here and i seen devs come and go. My main reason for leaving is Tmobiles service hasn't gotten any better where i live, seems to me it just got worser, ie: slower data and more dropped calls. So my and my G/F got tired of it and are switching to Verizon. Really glad to see the Vibrant getting some Ice Cream Sandwhich love from the great devs here, I really am loving the Passion rom and its excellent. Hope it gets better for you guys. Til next time....i'll be lingering around this section still though.
Good luck, man!
This forum is awesome
Have fun with the Nexus! (I'm assuming that's what you'd be getting right?)
Thanks everyone, Yeah me and my G/F will be getting the Galaxy Nexus and the HTC Rezound.

Just wanted to drop a quick and very sincere thank you to the devs and the community here for the EVO. I purchased an EPIC for my wife and thus have been hanging out at the XDA Epic forums every now and then. It seems like constant drama and the lack of cooperation there is hindering development. It makes me appreciate all of you and all the devs here in the EVO forums. So thank you all! You are awesome and we all have created an incredible forum!
ya Epic is a mess.
The device wasn't ready for prime time & development lacks which is a misery combo that shows through out Epic community.
Hopefully Sammy wont blow them off like they've done to the entire S galaxy lineup
Holy cow - you guys weren't kidding! Was thinking about getting an epic for my wife, so I've been lurking in the epic forums to see what the deal was. The drama there is off the charts! The users actually hate the few devs they have, and treat them like crap! They think there's some big conspiracy, and that they're entitled to unreleased work from the devs (unreleased because they’ve stated that it’s likely they’ll brick their phones) - it's mayhem! Madness I tell you!
I'll be surprised if there are any devs left working on the epic in 3 months. Looks like one of the three major ones just left.
Thank you to all of the devs here on the evo side of the house - and the users and noobs, too, because even on our worst day, during the worst of times, even counting the Time Without Root, we were never that ridiculous, and still (for the most part) conducted ourselves respectfully, like adults.
Happy Thanksgiving all.

To be spoken of only in the Stories of The Times That Were - in the hushed voices of the elders by the fire under the light of the full moon. So that even the young know what was. And what will be.
edit - now I need to watch beyond thunderdome again
seriously, though - much thanks all around - This forum is phenomenal.

Noobnl has said his goodbye
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=847703
He was #1 in Epic development .Those that gave him heck will now regret it.
Well guys, I've had my X10 for a year now and it's been a nice device for me but the time has come to move on. When I first got it, Android 1.6 Cupcake was on it. I then found XDA forums and got the balls to root and debrand it and flashed it to 2.1 Eclair. Then Gingerbread came out and I got tired of waiting for AT&T to release the update for it so again, flashed it to a custom rom made by Wolfbreak. His work made the phone really shine and gave me infinitely more control over it, not to mention made it noticeably faster, smoother and equally stable. It's because of him that I kept it as long as I did.
But now with Ice Cream Sandwich coming out soon and knowing the X10 hardware wasn't going to get it I decided to step up to something more future-proof and snatched up a Motorola Atrix 2 at Best Buy for $49.99. I hope you guys felt I was an asset to the forum the short time I was here, I'll check in every now and then and help when possible.
Lastly, I'd like to give a special thanks not only to Wolfbreak for his awesome work, but all the other Dev's who devote their time to doing what they do which allows us to enjoy our devices that much more. AyDee, your work on the Envy theme for use with Wolfbreaks 2.3 rom made me fall in love with my phone...WB gave it the performance, you gave it the good looks. I appreciate all that you guys have done for me and my device and wish you guys the best of luck in your future endeavors.
Adios amigos!
Damn dude you're too kind!
Well this is more of a "see you later" than goodbye. Everyone comes back to X10 forums once in a while. There may be better phones but there are no better forums!
Have fun with the new phone. Just don't come back here bragging how much better it is. Lol j/k
Cheers buddy.

Haha so true, half the people in the x10 forums don't even have x10's we're just here because of the craziness here and environment of the x10 community. Also, the x10 was my first ever android phone.
I keep coming back and I got my atrix 1. The x10 forum keeps me amused, especially the general talk thread. That thread is the place to be.

Motorola plan to upgrade their device(some) to ICS....just finger crossed your device is one of addition in their upgrade list

cheers
I've loaded Corbato's MUIU and I'm loving it. It's breathed new life into my X10, and I'm happier with my X10 than ever.
even i did sold my x10 and got SGS2. still i always comeback to the x10 forum.
You guys were alot of help to me, without this place I don't think I would have rooted my phone and discovered Wolfbreaks rom, not to mention all the other things you guys helped me do and/or figure out. I'll check in from time to time for sure
Ah, buyers remorse is just setting in. I'm selling my Evo 4g and going to LED'er pastures. The Evo was my first smartphone, first android phone, first rooting experience. I'm going to miss it greatly.
Thank you to everyone who contributed to this great sub-forum of XDA. Virus, Myn, Mik, Kush, I doubt you guys read the general forums, but each of you had a ROM that I swore by, after the holidays I hope to finally send each of you guys a donation (albeit a poor college student sized one).
*sniff* god, I'm going to miss this phone
Cool story bro.
Boo
I bought a Nexus S as well since it's more dev friendly and I dont regret it either. I do like my evo but it got kind of bland and all the problems I was having with the hardware on it, made me want to cry. >.<
You made the right choice my friend. Got this for my girlfriend and man my epic touch is jealous. Pure ICS nothing beats it right now. And phone runs pretty well.

Why not Galaxy Nexus?
Just switched to the NS4G as well. Had an upgrade burning a hole in my pocket and Sprint had them online for free. It's a great phone, but I'm not certain I'll be keeping it. ICS is cool and all, but does it really matter when I'm stuck on 1x all the time? Who knows, still have a week to try. May end up returning for the EpicTouch.
Couldn't give up the EVO though, I'll just use it as a wifi PMP. Just flashed MikG 3.0
Wife is getting the iPhone for Christmas, may have to trade her Evo for a NS4G to play with when I get burned out on the Evo.

I'd love to, but I don't have an upgrade, my traded my Evo in at Best Buy (Buy Back rules) and then sold the gift card online and used that money for the Nexus.
Not quite in that order...I still have the Evo and am trading it in tomorrow.

Did you flash ICS to the NS4G?
I thought the Galaxy Nexus was at least 3 months away for Sprint...
I had an upgrade so I upgraded to the Atrix 4G.
I had a Samsung Captivate before.
How does everyone like the Atrix?
I've read/watched reviews all over the internet but
I want to know what xda thinks of the Atrix 4G, as a communtiy.
Thanks everyone.
Atrix is great phone and now with bootloader unlock its even better.
Have a look around.
Search forums as 99% questions are already answered and its already got ics rom.
Enjoy your new puppy.
welcome to the atrix fam. this phone is a beast. i feel like with the proper tweaking our phone out performs all these newer phones. as stated search the forums for answers, becuz some of the people here are just lurking around waiting to flame you. lol. otherwise enjoy
Performance is great, functionality is excellent with blur ROMs. MIUI, or other CM7-based ROMs are getting there. Friend has a Sensation whom i play Parallel Kingdom with, I'm OC'ed to 1500MHz and he underclocks for battery, he has to plug into a charger looong before I do. Definitely the best balance of power, features, and efficiency out there at the moment.
The Motorola Atrix 4G is by far the most underrated phone that I have ever seen.
It is as powerful as the SGS2, has got many more options compared to other phones(Fingerprint Scanner and lapdock), it was the voted as the best phone of 2011 by CES. I don't know why it didn't sell like bread as it is an amazing phone.
I don't understand what people mean when they say that the SGS2's screen completely blows that of the Atrix out of water as my gf has an SGS2 and it is not true.
The only two disadvantages of owning the Atrix is that Motorola sucks at updates and there are not as many devs working on our Rome compared to other devices but our devs are really awesome.

awesome! thanks for the feedback! I'm really stoked for my phone to get here!
Should be here about Tues. or Wed. then the adventure will begin.
I have a little experience developing on the Captivate so I'm hoping the Atrix won't
be much more difficult.

I just joined the community, so I am a noob, but I love my Atrix. I have had it for about 8 months now, and finally found the courage to root/unlock and go to the darkside. Talk about taking something sweet and turning it up to 11...

I used to have a Captivate before I had to get the Atrix. I took a swim in a pool with my Captivate in my pocket and after a week or so of letting it dry it still worked for around 6 months. Then one day it just shut off while I was using it and it wouldn't turn back on anymore so I picked up an Atrix from Best Buy for $50. I really do miss my Captivate at times. The screen was amazing compared to the Atrix screen. I also liked how thin and light the phone was. The audio quality was great too with some tweaks. I've thought about getting the SGS2 but I just can't pull the trigger. The Atrix records audio really well when capturing a video. At concerts there's barely any distortion from bass or anything. The Captivate wasn't that bad after tweaks but I've seen some videos with the SGS2 and the audio is just horrible. Other than that, the Atrix is a great phone.
i have upgraded from the cappy to the atrix also but still have both and constantly switching back and forth although id say the cappy screen was better i still love the processor speed and camera flash, plus dual cameras! i hope we get more devs workn on more roms though. all in all its a good phone a nd has louder speaker volume than my cappy.

I've registered just to say that the Atrix is an amazing phone and the CM team has made this phone even better than already is. I'd like to thank all the devs that have made this possible and are continuing to work on improving the phone's capabilities.
Atrix has supports similar to Captivate with added specification. Captivate has ICS (sweet if both will have) as advantage over Atrix.
I started reading this post and learned so many things immediately.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1154600
I've been doing alot of reading and I'm pretty confident that dev-ing on the Atrix isn't gonna be too different from the Cappy so I'm pretty stoked for the future and glad to become a part of a great community.
I know I havent been particularly active in this subforum lately because there wasnt much to update on the touchwiz front
but anyway, just wanted to say goodbye to those that are left...my parents took the leap into smartphones recently and i gave them my fascinate and og inc to use (so i can snag their upgrades when needed)
so while i had promised that on the small chance another ota dropped for verizon id update resurrection and superclean...that small chance just went to 0 w/o a phone to work with
the fascinate was the first android phone i had that i actually did anything for...starting with porting themes back in the fall of 2010 alongside retrokidd, thatdudebutch, et all...before eventually moving on to roms and mods
most of the people in the android world im friends with were because of this phone, so i look back on this time fondly and hope to see most of you around in the future when our paths cross on other phones (sgs3?)
thanks for everything! you've been a great help and a great dev.

Tip of the hat and many thanks, SC3 was superb.
Farewell for now, my friend. Thank you for everything. I hope to see you soon in the GS3 subforums.
You are definitely a beast man. Thanks for everything!
~~~~There is no spoon~~~~
Thanks for everything, man. I lost my rom-ginity to SC3.
thanks for all you have done!!! you and a few other devs really helped me alot when i was a noob!!
Thanks for all the great work. And for all the laughs.
thanks for everything nitsu been following ya' since the DJ05/DI03 days good luck with everything
Good luck and thanks for everything. Looking forward to more of your work, hopefully Verizon will get the S III and let the tweaking begin !
You breath life into the fascinate when verizon/samsung left it in the dark with updates. I was in froyo months before it was release by v, I was on gingerbread again months before v put it out, all thanks to you.
To your credit also, I have tried everything, from miui to cm7 and the lastest aokp and asop roms. I keep coming back to your tsm 2 rom, it is a jewel of stabilty and functionality.
thanks for your hard work, and the countless hours of coding. I will see you in a better place, called samsung fascinate 3.
We can't thank you enough. Your legacy lives on. As long as Fascinates continue to function, you will have fans and followers.
Thanks for everything bro. I've seen your posts all over the place and they are always helpful.
Sincere thanks and appreciation for all you've done. I hope our paths cross again.
Thanks man.. My upgrade has been up since October but I'm holding out for SG3 and I'm hoping it's gonna drop soon in the next month or two..
To be honest, the Fascinate turned out to be a great phone once most of the kinks were worked out, with much of that credit going to all the developers working on giving functioning ROMs..
I'm in no rush to leave just yet, haven't been brave enough to flash to AOKP ICS..
So in ending, I'm not saying goodbye, more like see you soon in another forum banging out some cool themes and ROMs for our future phones!
Thanks for everything nitsuj17. There was a while there where it looked like we'd be faced with a decision between Froyo GB ROMS or going with one of the AOSP offerings. While I liked what they had to offer (and great things continue to be worked on) I found myself wishing for some of the things I missed from TW (such as the camera app and media players) and just plain stability.
You came through with exactly what I wanted. Previous to now my favorite time on the Fascinate was with SC2 and now with SC3 I really don't feel I need to change a thing. On one hand I'm sad that I won't be tinkering around as much (because everything just works and works very well), but on the other I have a pretty sweet device (what turned out to be one thanks to yours and other's work). I think if the Fascinate dropped with this software it would not be the butt of jokes re: Bing and the GPS issues.
I think when it comes time to upgrade (soon ...) a big deciding factor will be where you and people like sbrissen end up. Cheers!
*PS If your parents have an issue do you make them submit a logcat? j/k
What are you using till you upgrade? Inc2?
Thank you for giving us great ROMs to make our phones run the way they should've in the first place. Your comments were always right on. Thanks for your work on TSM and SuperClean!
