I managed to use logcat to find the download link of the OTA package, just want to know if it differs from the one for 9020T, which many of u that have 9020T got before, but...
You can see the OTA link in the pic; it's same as the one of 9020T.
Still can't get into recovery, although I updated it through OTA -- the official way.
This is getting serious.
If OTA updates on i9023 still leads to broken recovery, doesn't that mean that a new OTA update it's impossible?

As long as you can boot to bootloader, you've got a usable phone.
Actually, I take that back, there's a tool that just came out to resurrect even HARD-bricked Nexus S's.

What happens instead of recovery popping up, and how are you trying to get into recovery? Maybe you're back at the official version of recovery.
Note that the official firmware will replace the recovery with the official (non clockwork version) on each boot. This can be turned off by moving an obviously named script out of your /system/etc/ directory...which a root enabled adb shell. I think the basename is something like install-recovery.sh.
In any event please confirm why you feel you can't get into recovery and perhaps we can help you out.

By all accounts, the recovery on the i9023 is not broken, you just cant *see* the display due to the AMOLED vs SLCD differences.

what do u mean by cannot go into recovery?
why you want to go into recovery in the stock ROM in the first place?
or you mean cannot go into CW recovery?
you need to flash custom recovery in fastboot and select recovery and you are good to go.
stock ROM always reflash stock recovery every time you reboot, it's not a bug or broken.

But if the stock recovery from the stock rom can't work properly, don't you feel a little strange?

I updated with the full rom package (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=20421407&postcount=289). Full wipe at the end to be sure. You can clearly see the recovery working when you put it at the sunlight under a certain angle... Everything works fine appart from that.
BTW my NS is unrooted and locked.

Once Koush fixes the recovery you should be able to find it in the link below:
To install:
Copy to your sdk tools folder and run:
fastboot flash recovery recovery-clockwork-[version]-crespo4g.img
Here are the links:
Main recovery download page
Just tried it myself and it does NOT work. I had to flash back to standard crespo recovery.
The menu is there but all I get is black screen when any of the menus are chosen.
Can anyone confirm that this is in fact NOT working and it's not just me?

haha, this is actually funny because i did manage to royally eff up my ns4g yesterday, and was totally unable to fix it. my pc for some odd reason wont accept the drivers for the phone, so i had to root it with my mac. and vmware wont recognize the phones usb storage at all. i didnt want to take the time to put together another pc and load up windows just to root a phone.
so i am patiently waiting.
is there any other recovery that is recommended?

So I sold my iPhone for some extra money and have come back to my Nexus S. It was still on 2.3.4 and I wanted to upgrade to ICS. Keep in mind that it was untouched at the time, stock rom, locked boot loader.
I heard that the official OTA ICS update for the I9020T worked for the I9020A except that I would have to flash a new radio.
Long story short, it didn't work and now when I try to flash the stock 2.3.4 rom, I get stuck at the Google logo when I reboot. My phone still has an unlocked boot loader and CWM.
Any ideas? Also I am on a Mac but do have access to a Windows computer.
Who ever told you that is a idiot.
Flashing roms for a different phone model is a very bad idea.
You just need to flash a stock rom for the i9020A as long as you can get into cwm.

No. It works just fine. I've been running 4.0.3 on my i9020a for several weeks. When you flash ICS you just have to make sure you do a full wipe. Then flash the radio.

Why wouldn't you flash 2.3.6? You need to flash the full rom. You do the same for ICS. Install CWM, wipe data, flash the full rom. The only difference is for ICS is you flash the radio afterwards.
Thanks guys. Got it working.
So now I'm running on I9020T's official ICS with the AT&T radio. Working great.

well, it seems to update most apps by a little bit, but what the updates are i am not sure. The thing thats confusing me is that the date stamps are all "wrong". this is dated for september 1st 2008, but if it was new it would be 2014 or similar. best guess is that this was an update for your old rom that you never got before you flashed a custom rom but i dont think its "new" as such. If you wanted to flash it you would need to flash the stock recovery from a ruu as i suspect it wont be compatiable with our edify recovery versions.

well thats sad . that you don't own wildfire now. well nobody even replied in rempuzzle ROM thread about the question whether their marker is working or not
The OP has asked that this thread be closed until further notice, so the thread has been closed.
Thank you for understanding,
