I haven't tried it, but I believe it'll only work if the Wireless N Network is the 2.4GHz mode. The specs for the TPT say it is compatible with b/g/n, since a isn't supported the 5GHz spectrum cannot be supported.
If your router is simultaneous dual-band, meaning, it can transmit a 2.4GHz and a 5GHz network at the same time then you shouldn't have any issues. If the router is only dual-band and not simultaneous then you'll have to fall back on the 2.4GHz spectrum.
Hope this helps.
Oh, ok. The router was transmitting in 5ghz; changing it to 2.4 worked. Thanks

Hi,
I have a UK Desire Z. The spec says the phone is capable of connecting to b/g/n wifi standards. However I am having trouble seeing my N network on the wireless list. Has anyone sucessfully connected thier phone to an N network?
Are you trying to connect to a 2.4hgz network or a 5ghz one?
It should work on the 2,4 but not on the 5 ghz
I have dual-band router and Desire Z does see/connect to 2.4GHz N network. It does not see 5GHz network. But my 5GHz is running in two channel 40MHz mode, didn't have time to check if switching to single channel would allow Z to connect.
Mine connects fine to my home Wi-Fi network, which is 'N' standard. Not sure what speed it is connecting at, or whether it's dropping back to B/G though.
Do you have MAC address security blocking set on your router, and if so have you told it about the phone's MAC address?

This verifies that answer, changing to single channel on 5GHz will not make a difference.
The wifi radio on the DZ is a 2.4GHz radio.
Is anyone else having problems connecting to an 802.11n network? My 802.11n network will not show up under networks. I've got no problems connecting to my g network, but cannot connect to my n network.
I've tried disabling all security, 2.4ghz and 5ghz and resetting the router with no luck. Network is working fine on my laptop and desktop.
I've tried using wifi analyzer and still nothing.
Any suggestions?
So I just set my routers wifi mode to 300Mbps @ 2.4Ghz and immediately was not able to connect to my wifi. I dropped the mode down to 145Mbps, same frequency, and right away was able to connect. What gives?

I'm not networking expert but i believe it's the b/g/n radio that you are using. IIRC the faster setting requires the n radio. Does you phone & ROM support n?
If i am wrong someone please correct me.
My router is dual band and i want to say it connects to 5ghz and connects as a n connection. some roms do not have the n drivers. I too could be wrong.

You're probably right. I'm using CM7.1.
Is anybody having any trouble connecting to 802.11n on their GTab?
I'm running a D-Link DIR-655 with G/N enabled only. My girlfriends iMac is connected to it via 802.11n and the GTab is only connecting at 802.11g.
Thanks,
Anthony

just so we are understanding correctly, are you even seeing the signal show up in the available choices of wifi? Or are you seeing it, attempting to connect, and it just doesnt do anything?
Im seeing the same, my Galaxy Tab only connects at 54mbp/s to my Wireless N Access Point. It connects just fine, even when forcing Wireless N, but only connects at 54mbp/s. my Atrix does the same thing.
What's the point of having a wireless N card if its stuck @ 54mbp/s??
I just bought my Galaxy Tab, and when doing the initial setup I was experiencing problems connecting. I reset my modem/router and that solved it, it connected right up after the reset (unplug modem and router for 15 seconds, then plug it back in, then try to connect).
I'm using 802.11n
Try a new router. I had a dlink DIR-650 (i think that is the model) and it worked find for pretty much everything but smartphones. it would connect but not do anything. I decided to can it with my Tab coming and got a linksys router that is doing very well.
I'm getting a good N connection and good speed with my D-Link gaming router.

No issues with the 10.1 connecting to N on my Dir 655. My Dir 655 is on firmware 1.3 and only broadcasting N no G. Im getting 65Mbps
just to confirm, I have two routers in my house since not all devices I own (ps3, 360) connect to a wireless N connection without a newer adaptor. My tab connects to both with ease
Do you guys know how to solve this problem. Can't even see my 2.4Ghz wireless network. Can only see 5Ghz wireless network. Any suggestion ?
Reboot your router
Change the 2.4GHz Wireless channel on the router
Clear caches from recovery on the phone - can other devices see the 2.4GHz network? -
Disable the 5GHz network and see if it can connect to 2.4GHz then...
Can your router push out both 2.4GHz and 5GHz simultaneously?
Disable Smart Network Switch on the phone in WiFi Settings
thanks for your reply.
Yeah, Other devices can see 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz. Yes. I'm using RT-N66U so both 2.4 and 5GHz are available.
If my router was problem other devices cannot connect so, is not my router.
Following are done.
-Rebooted s 5 many times.
-Did hard reset/wipe cache
-smart network is disabled. ( Don't even put SIM card yet)
Phone is not ROOTED.
Suggestions?
Factory reset the phone?
Yes Factory reset and Hard reset is done but nothing change
Go to someone elses house who has 2.4GHz WiFi and see if your S5 can connect, then you'll know if it is a fault with the phone, or your router
My router have only 2.4 GHz but not problem with other devices.
My neighbor have both 2.4 and 5 GHz when we try to connect it's only show 5GHz band. Not 2.4. btw i'm running Lollipop 5.0
