[Q] how to adb over wireless after touchnooter? - Nook Touch General

Hi all,
I've googled the hell out of this every which way and looked all over the forums for a simpler answer, but no luck.
I rooted my Nook touch with touchnooter and I'm having the app market notloading issue so decide to try and sideload some apps but when trying to connect via adb, I get an unable to connect to ###.###.#.#:5555 error
My touch is on the same network and I have the correct IP for it, so my only guess is that something needs to be enabled on the nook to get abd over wireless running or the root didn't work.
Please don't reply with 'install this app' type responses as I obviously can't install apps unless I get this adb thing working...
Sorry if this sounds like a super noob question but I seriously have spent hours looking for an answer to this.
Thnaks for any help.

[Q] Unable to run Terminal Emulator on adam

Alright,
I'm starting to feel like a complete fool, as I seem to have lost all of the knowledge or ability to solve complications that I had gained from working with XDAndroid on my phone.
I'm trying to use the wpa_supplicant directions as mentioned in the other thread I started in the wrong section, here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=930163
I need either adb access(Which I can't get working right[Edit: This may be issues from the first time I installed it in win7, I'll keep fiddling with this, but I'd still love to see others chime in on terminal usage]) or terminal access to get in and modify the file to allow ad-hoc tethering.
However, when I run terminal emulator, it force closes with "Sorry! The application Terminal Emulator (process com.android.term) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again."
Has anyone been able to get any terminal to run on the adam? Everything I've read says that it's pretty much superuser access already, but that could be wrong.
All help appreciated.
You should be changing the supplicant on your phone not Adam to get Wifi tether to function right...
But to get Android Terminal to function with root on Adam you need to be root and unlocked by using the Eden Plus guide or some similar method. Once you have root and unlock you will need superuser app to give root permissions to Android Terminal. Then Android Terminal should function as expected.
Forgot to add, you could also use ADB instead of Android Terminal on Adam. Would probably give you the same thing but might be easier to use.

Unable to install VISIONary + on my DHD

Hi there. I am new here, and I am not sure whether I am asking a silly question as I am unable to find them in the web. By the way I am noob. Lol. Well, here goes..
I was unable to install VISIONary +, got from this from Modaco website.(Sorry I am unable to post external link here as I am a new user) ><
I download via pc, send it to my DHD, open the file, click install, and it says "Application not installed". Tried via HTC Sync too but cant. USB debugging all turned on.
Is there any possible reason for this "unable to install" problem?
Permission states: "System tool: automatically start at boot". Is there anything I got to do with this first before I can install it? Again, me noob. Lol. Cause normally whenever I want to install any apps, the color will be red, but this is instead white color. I am using version 2.2
Any possible reason and solutions will be much appreciated.
I had this problem, my anti virus on my pc was "cleaning" it before i could get it on to my phone. Try disable anti virus, download, put on phone and then enable it again and try install.
To Scottymeuk.
Thank!! It works! I finally have VISIONary + installed in my DHD. Really thanks!

Can't install drivers

Sorry for the noob question but I haven't been able to figure this out. I just bought my son a Nook Color and I'm trying to root it. I can't get the drivers to install. I already have ADB installed from when I rooted my Kindle Fire. Every time I plug in the Nook, Windows installed the drivers automatically. I tried manually updating but it always says the best driver is installed. I tried some of the batch files other people created but nothing has worked. Any help would be appreciated. I hate being locked down.

Just a question why do you even need to install the drivers? They are not needed for root and then after you root you can use wireless adb which is a lot easier to set up and use.

Thanks for the reply. I basically just want the amazon app store. The Nook app store sucks. I was following some directions I found. I'll try some other methods.

If you just want to installthe Amazon app, then why you head into the ADB over USB thingy? Who lead you through that way?
I can help but it's irrelevant to get the Amazon app install and running.

[Q] Help, can't install apps whatever I do

Hello. I'm new here, and I'm not sure if this post goes here or in the Apps subforum. If I'm mistaken please forgive me.
I rooted my Nook Touch and I followed some instructions to make the Market app work. But it doesn't search anything so I can't install anything.
I need at least an app to access the filesystem from the PC, or the app "SearchMarket" so I can properly use the Market to install things.
I've tried a lot of things but nothing had worked:
Install SearchMarket from play.google.com and send it to my Nook -> Nothing happens to me.
Install from the PC -> I've read various guides but I can't never connect my Nook to the PC that way, the USB drivers never works.
Install Opera and install apk from there -> I install Opera, but as soon as I launch it, it crashes.
¿A way to install apps, please? I'm desperate here, as nothing I've tried have worked.
I'm not a completely noob, I've root several devices and I know about computers. I'm just new here and for some reason I can't get the guides I read to work.
Thanks in advance.
::::::::::::::::::::::::EDIT::::::::::::::::::::::::
OK, finally managed to install SearchMarket!!!
Now I need to access file system from PC to modify the internal dictionary, because I want to change the language... how can I do that? Thanks!
::::::::::::::::::::::::EDIT2::::::::::::::::::::::::
I guess ES Explorer will do the trick. Thanks anyway xD

adb frustration

Hi All,
I have been trying to get ADB working on my windows xp PC for my HD+. I purchased this from staples and it is at 2.0.4. I followed 2 separate threads here in addition to info on nookdevs from BN. I am able to see my nook in ADB but as soon as I try to run the allinoneroot and the nook reboots its gone. no more devices. Even if I just disconnect the nook and reconnect to my PC i see same behavior. basically it looks like my PC is not able to retain the ADB setup after the nook reconnects.
Any pointers? I have another windows 7 PC which I am planning to try next but i have no clue why this isnt working? should i be deleting some existing installation from my PC? I am new to Nook HD+ but not really new to android or ADB. I already have a Nook color with CM7 running on it and have been upgrading etc for past 1.5 years.
this has been my most frustrating experience with ADB so far. Please help.. I am so close to taking this back to the store.
thanks!
Can you open up the shell/batch file and execute the commands one by one to see where exactly it's messing up?

I had the same problem. It loses the ADB after the first boot. I had to leave the cord plugged in and the command window open and go to device manager. I went to USB controllers and uninstalled the USB composite device. Another device popped up in other and I updated the driver to the nook drivers again. Then the command prompt took off to the next boot and same thing happened. Just went through that every time until finished.

thanks!. "I think" the root is done. I reconnected after each step and it said installation complete. But i dont see any apps at all. how do I access Google Play for the next update step per your post? thanks for guiding me through this.
If I go in settings->applications I see Superuser,Talk etc.
thanks!
Was able to open google play using the browser. Installed ADW Launcher and it looks good. a lot of apps come up as not compatible in play though. maybe dpi setting is incorrect?

There are many things that make certain apps incompatible. It have tried several things including dpi, modifying build.prop (which I recommend against unless you want to reset), and nothing seems to help. I just think the HD+ is not on its list so most things show incompatible. The only solution is to use other devices to download and sideload. There are web stores that let you use your browser to download but not all apps are available. Like 1mobile.com.

I've simply copied many of these apps from my phone to my PC then sideloaded. They work fine. It just seems to be that they aren't teed up for this sort of Bastroid 4.2.1 that B&N has deployed is my guess. Example, free angry birds works fine this way. Once loaded, you can backup with Titanium backup and reload if needed.
thanks evenryone.. the adb wireless included in latest root makes is so easy. you devs are awesome.
