For some reason, the YouTube app on my DHD keeps force closing on my Desire HD every time I try to view a user's channel.
It's working fine on my Motorola XOOM.
I'm currently running on the stock 2.3.3 ROM on my DHD, and I've tried to resolve it using the simple/usual methods - reboot, taking out the battery, uninstall/reinstall YouTube/other apps which seem to have caused the problem, and also clearing the app's data and cache. Of course the reason I'm posting this is that none of those methods worked.
I could try a factory reset, but I'm not too keen on doing that just yet.
Any suggestions? Or anyone with a similar problem?
The problems started this morning.
Having exactly the same issues on my DHD and HP Touchpad, so I'd guess this is a problem with the app update on certain devices.
Well let's hope so. At least that would confirm that the problem's gonna be fixed sooner or later.
I had that problem but I full wiped and flashed a new Rom and it works again. I think it happened to me beacause I was trying to restore the new YouTube app on ics on ARHD

and what do you mean: check the folders?
The same problem with Samsung Galaxy S. Sometimes works, sometimes does not. Sometimes clearing cash helps, sometimes not. Sometimes restart of the phone helps, sometimes not.
I think this is the general problem of Android 2.2 devices.
For me, it has actually turned data off. I have had to go to settings and turn it back on.
Today, I had to set WCDMA only for it to work. On GSM or WCDMA it showed a 3G connection, but no data would actually pass... how can that be?
I read other devices and ROM's are facing similar issues currently so I really think the Market is just unstable right now
I have try everything as well and no luck at all? It is the system problem or the market is down??
I've tried all that and still can't download. Was working fine earlier this morning, and yesterday
One app got installed a few hours back. However, just tried another app which does not get installed.
Glad to hear more people have market issues, that makes a general market problem more likely...

My markets not been working on my Hero too !!!

Same here to market issues
I've tried WiFi on and WiFi off some days and I really can't see any difference. With my hero I could see a definite difference.
As far as GPS goes, i thought it was only used when called upon by certain programs?

Hey
I'm running DK 4.4, and my phone just appears to be randomly freezing while it's in my pocket.
I should note this has been happening with other roms as well, so I seriously doubt it's a rom issue.
I'm not overclocked (anymore).
The screen just won't turn on.
People can even call me and to them it seems like it's ringing, but it's not and nothing happens.
The only way to recover from that seems to be to take the battery out and put it back in.
I finally managed to catch it in action and have a look at the log, but I couldn't find anything useful.
Maybe someone else can
logcat:
http://pastebin.com/kS3EnPQa
Also, I should mention the freeze happened a couple of minutes before the end of this logcat, the log keeps updating even though the phone appears frozen.
adb shell doesn't seem to work, though, and neither does adb reboot
Thanks
Hi. Flash an old 2.1 stock RUU original rom, root again and check if the phone works. Sounds like a Software or Hardware issue. Otherwise you can try to wipe phone and test the DK ROM again.
Do you use cache to ext? Download and install free app ap2sd GUI from Market and move cache back to internal. Maybe your sd card should be Checked too.
Do you use the default dk Kernel without over or downclock under 3cxphone MHz?

Fair enough, I'll try it.
I'm curious, though, are you actually seeing something in the log?
As for the cache to ext, my dalvik cache used to be on my SD card, but I already moved it back thinking it might be the issue
EDIT: as for the kernel, I use the original DK one (iirc that's the original HTC kernel?), shouldn't be over/underclocked.
I had this same issue and was about to return my Wildfire, but then the microSD died! So I got a new one and its been fine ever since so maybe try another card if you can and if the above suggestion doesn't work.

I'll be sure to try them. Maybe my Wildfire isn't on its death bed after all

It definitely seems like it's the SD card.
I tried using a different one and I haven't had any problems for about 48 hours.
Will update if it changes
Thanks a lot for the suggestions, guys!

I've been searching for the last few days and have yet to really find anything to help me fix my problem.
the story:
Phone was rooted, back in Jan and I was running GummyJar 2.5, no problems, went to Apex V 1.3, no problems, but it ran a little slow. Today I decided to switch to something else to attempt and fix the speed problems, first I tried Incredibly Re Engineered v1.0, the phone ran well, but every 2-3 minutes it was rebooting me and sending me to the clockwork screen. So then I figured it had something to do with the ROM, so I went to Fission 2.5.7. Same problem, the phone runs great when it's on, but the constant restarted is unreal. I've done a factory reset, unrooted then rerooted the phone, then reinstalled the ROM, same problem.
Anyone ever have this issue and have a solution?
Thank you,
Eric
edit: Phone acts fine while plugged in to the computer or wall charger. Also made and attempt with SBF, to no avail.
Try an sbf....then go back to fission.
Just my thoughts. No overclock at first.
Running the SBF restore again...we will see what happens.
Hopefully someone else will stop by with thoughts.
Fission for me is real stable, ran it for long time now.
Worried it may be hardware problem....?
Might want to only install important apps at first also.
Try wiping data from Clockwork several times.
If that doesn't work you should definitely try SBFing and wiping data several times afterward.

I agree, I also loaded several ROM's and had a growing list of issues, SBF took care of everything for me.
Mine reboots when I pause video playback when connected with hdmi. But only since gingerbread, and I'm on my fourth version of gb. They have all done it so far, hoping official .596 will fix.
DX 2.3.3
Did the SBF'd it. Phone works flawlessly. I am now running Fission and Launcher 7, all without a hitch. Guess the phone just had to much going on and needed a fresh start.
Thank you all for the input. After I get a few more posts, I will post links and a DIY on how to do what I did. It was difficult for me to find anything with all of the steps and links in one spot, I want to make it easier for the next person experiencing this problem.
Yay! ....

Hi all, I rooted my dell streak last night with superoneclick, it worked fine after a bit of messing around, but ever since if I d/l an app from the market or elsewhere, itll d/l but hangs on installing. Ive searched but to no avail, not much on google either. Is this a common issue? Ive tried reboots and clearong market cache, but even have the same issue when Installing from sdcard. Any thoughts? Cheers for any replies. Sanders
Also, just tried to play some music, loudspeaker aint working??
rooting shouldn't be causing an issue here as far as I know, I take it you are running stock rom? Do your headphones still work? Sounds like you may have bigger problems though unfortunately. You can always try unrooting to see if the problems go away or do a dell factory reset...
Funnily enough, speakers working fine now. Still no apps installing though, yes im on dells 2.2. Ill try unrooting.
Thanks

Hi everyone. Im trying to find out if anyone has any suggestions for a problem my wife is having on her Atrix. Her Atrix is completely stock with the most up to date updates installed.
She often lets our son look at youtube videos and sometimes (actually often) the phone will completely freeze. The only way to get it back to normal is with a battery pull. My son uses my phone for youtube also. I have an Atrix unlocked and rooted. I dont think that mine has ever froze while he is using it.
Can anyone say why this might happen and how to correct it?
First thing I'd try is clearing the YouTube data in settings.
Then go to the Android Market and search "YouTube". Sometimes they have a "manual update" hiding in there.
If that doesn't work I'd clear the phone cache, then dalvic cache if the phone cache doesn't work.
Finally if all else fails (and you have no 3rd party security App installed to cause any conflicts) then I'd go for the factory reset...
