Wow, I didnt think i would be this happy until ICS was available for the touchpad. This works beautifully, and finally renders the screen properly so the icons and text are crystal clear and not blocky.
I am using button savior from the market to get the soft buttons. Here is my screenshot

If you are already on CM Alpha or MIUI skip to step 7, if not you can follow the instructions below to install MIUI for the TouchPad from WebOS.
Alright, here is a step by step instruction on how to install MIUI Beta on Touchpad. I did notice there is a video guide but a text step by step might be useful for some. I have this installed and for Alpha release this is fantastic.
Pretty straightforward installation, but as always you follow this guide and flash at your own risk. Main thread for the MIUI port is on RootzWiki. Read what’s working and what’s not working there. If you have any questions, post it there, but read the known issues first, don't post know issues. This is just a guide.
Required:
1) PC ( windows, mac or linux) with working Internet
2) HP Touchpad ( obviously) and the usb cable that came with it.
3) Good Reading skills ( I am serious).
4) Read this guide twice if you have to.
Step 0:
Get your pre flash jitters out and think twice. This will root your device and hence your warranty will be void after the flash. If you still want to flash, back up your current HP touchpad. Figure out which way is your volume up button ( you will need for step 4) and proceed to step 1
Step 1:
Make sure you have at least 2GB of free space in your touchpad. Download the following files from here
1)Moboot bootloader for multi boot
2)MIUI.us Alpha Rom
3)Clockwork Mod Recovery
Once done, go to step 2 below;
Step 2:
1)Acme Installer from here
2) HP WebOS SDK for windows, mac or linux
3) Follow the links above to install the full SDK or just the Novacom driver which is all that is required. If you are not sure, install the full SDK.
on to step 3 now.
Step 3:
1) Connect Touchpad to PC with the USB cable that came with it and select USB Drive option.
2) Once the Touchpad pops up on your screen, create a folder called cminstall and put the files you downloaded in Step 1 there.
3) Eject/Safely remove touchpad from the pc, remove the USB cable from pc and shutdown touchpad, then go to step 4.
Step 4:
1) Do you know which way is your volume up button? if you are not sure then you are not paying attention to this guide. To figure out which way, boot to webOS, figure it out and shutdown.
2)Hold the volume up button and press power button simultaneously. You should see a white USB symbol.
3)Connect the USB cable back to pc and if the Novacom drivers were properly installed, the driver will be automatically detected and installed.
Step 5:
Almost there, time to install now.
Extract the Acme Installer you downloaded in Step 2 to your desktop or wherever you want. Open up cmd ( in windows) or terminal ( in linux or mac). cd to the directory where you just extracted your Acme Installer.zip and go to step 6 for install.
Step 6:
Now type this in the command prompt after you have done cd
novacom boot mem:// < ACMEInstaller
NOTE: windows users might have to manually move the novacom.exe and/or AcmeInstaller into c:\programfiles\palm folder and run the above command from there.
and wait for it to install and boot into CyanogenMod/MIUI. If your clockwork mod didn't get installed, go here for a fix.
Step 7:
Update from CM Alpha any MIUI
1) Download MIUI above or at roms.miui.us
2) Plug in your touchpad to PC, select copy usb files option
3) Transfer MIUI.us zip file into the "sd card" of your touchpad when it pops up and disconnect.
4) Long press power button and select reboot, then recovery option.
5) Recommended but Optional ( I didn't): In CWM recovery, go to backup and storage, do a nandroid backup before updating, back to main cwm recovery, wipe cache and in advanced wipe dalvik cache.
6) In the CWM recovery meny, use your volume buttons and select install zip file from sd card, select zip file and select cm alpha 3 zip, then scroll down and say yes.
7) Reboot. To check if you are on alpha 3, go to settings, about tablet and mod version should be alpha3.
Google Market and Gmail are included in zip. Just navigate to settings and sync add google account.
Have Fun. Thanks to the awesome CM team, we have android on touchpad.
topic add to favs ! thanks scott !

Got this installed this afternoon.
First tip: Install Button Savior from the Market to get some onscreen soft keys - its not that elegant but it does work until we get some soft keys similar to other MIUI tablet releases. You need to allow requests in Superuser for root access for it to work fully.
Overall I'm really impressed with how functional this is for an initial release. Amazed, actually.
There are some visual bugs (see notification bar in 2nd screenshot), the Phone app FC etc.. but these things are to be expected. A few sound glitches as well when playing music. Haven't tried any games yet.
Fantastic, i love MIUI for my phone so this will be a great stop gap rom until we see some ICS on the TP.
Good to see others are still working on TP roms
Good job scott951! this will be fun to mess with
thanks for button savior forgot about that app

Here is the beginnings of a port of milaq+nadlabak's CM6 for Milestone A853 to the Milestone XT720. This port came primarily out of these two threads: 1, 2
The ROM here is based on combining say's CM6 port for Motoroi with an initial source build I've been working on with help from stlifey. It's based on milaq's 0.10 release with manual bugfixes. It is usable but has some quirks and rough edges.
The next step is to incorporate those manual fixes into my build tree, figure out how to fork the git repositories in my local repo, and upload a working build tree to github.
Recommended: CM 6.3.7 See post #1224
I need to update and rework this entire post, but I haven't had time yet.
initial backport of CM7 lockscreens (namelessjedi)
power menu screenshots work
stock Motorola Camera/Camcorder (brianlili, peshovec)
720p video recording (brianlili)
improved xt720mod.sbf support
updated gapps package
odex and deodex versions provided (odex recommended for users)
The install procedure is similar to CM 6.3.0-RC3 but use the files from post #1224 and follow the additional instructions there to apply the 720p recording fix.
Themes for previous versions are incompatible and must be updated.
See molohov's theme thread for compatible themes: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=24435398

CM 6.3.0-RC3 Fixes camera/camcorder crashes that appeared in RC2
Because of the camera and camcorder problems with RC2, I've now rebuilt using Motorola's media libraries again. I think this restores camera. Camcorder also works now with a higher quality than before. We need to get to get a media_profiles.xml that works better for our phone. In RC3, I just took the one from milaq's A853.
Known issues in CM 6.3.0-RC3:
FM Radio doesn't work
Gallery button doesn't work
Camcorder doesn't work well
Screenshot in power menu always produces a black image
Changes since CM 6.1.2
Android Keyboard is fixed (Thanks peshovec)
Torch/power-widget uses autofocus led
Linear vibration for haptic feedback vibrations <150ms
Selecting 1% battery increments is harmless (but doesn't work)
Wi-Fi fixes (now works for the AP I was having trouble with)
Korean IME removed (can provide as update if needed)
USB menu has been updated with new translations and resource fixes (Usb.apk)
Reboot recovery from the power menu works.
Hold volume-down during boot to enter fastboot
Bug fixes to app2ext and link2sd support
app2ext is nolonger automatic (you must create /sd-ext/app directory).
Link2SD support (you must create /sd-ext/link2sd directory)
ext4 supported for /sd-ext.*
You can read more about the other changes between 0.10 and 6.3.0 on milaq's thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1155454 and in the github. Some A853 features (esp. ones that use kernel modules) are not included yet.
*Note about ext4 support: the huge_file option is *not* supported but is default for mkfs.ext4. Nadlabak explained how to disable huge_file on existing ext4 filesystems. Alternately just create ext2/3 partitions and use OpenRecovery-XT720 SD Card Utilities to upgrade the ext2 partition to ext4. Warning: the other OpenRecovery/Androidiani's don't understand ext4 on XT720 (thanks fjfalcon for adding ext4 support to OR for XT720). Also be aware that not many XT720 ROMs understand ext4 yet--hellmongers XDAspecial RC2 *does*.
For more information about changes see See post #605 and the github source.

Themes:
sileshn's themes for milaq's CM 6.3.2 are reported to work in RC2 with the caveat that the reboot to bootloader menu option disappears from the power menu. None of the changes in RC3 should change that. I don't think I've seen reports either way about sileshn's themes for XT720 CM 6.1.2 yet.

CM 6.1.2 Notable issues:
Do not select 1% battery increments (see post #7) (became a placebo button in 6.3.0-RC2)
The default keyboard has very, very small keys. You can select the Korean keyboard or download another. (fixed in 6.3.0-RC2, thanks peshovik!)
FM Radio does not exist and will not work.
Video recording not extensively tested -- but, hey, it doesn't crash the phone immediately anymore.
Gallery button does nothing
Haptic feedback is not pleasant when enabled (first attempt at using linear vibrator in 6.3.0-RC2)
RomManager is dangerous on XT720 (not included in 6.3.0-RC1,2)
Reboot recovery goes to motorola's recovery (fixed in 6.3.0-RC1)

Thanks! Don't waste time on the radio yet, it won't work because to compile CM6, I had to use A853's libaudio.so which lacks radio support. After the source tree is fixed we can figure out how to use the XT720 libaudio.so

Yeah, but when I call something alpha, it's merely hopefully working. When you call something an alpha it's something more like a release candidate. I think this still has a way to go, but everyone in the other threads got pretty persistently insistent on starting releases. I'll dogfood it.
ok just found out the hard way, do not select 1% battery increments, or it doesnt recognise it bein charged at all. just showed red battery with [X] and would turn off. when plugged in it said charging 0%. so stay away from that option. :/ atleast it stayed on while plugged in so i could undo it and now charging 60%.
So the ROM is not "nandroid" but "update" based ?
Any suggestions as if I should go back to an original 2.1 SBF ?
Any feedback/review on raw performance and performance degraduation (memory leaks and such) over time ? Battery life ?
Thnaks for the effort !

as long as you didnt flash a Korean sbf to start with your fine, just apply in OR. and the roms pretty quick, give it a shot. the customization is huge. im loving the full 360 degree rotation, ive been waiting a long time for that haha opens every app almost instantly, it boots fast, i got 1220 on quadrant at 1 ghz, but the only thing i miss is the built in task killer when holding home. that came in handy. im still testing performance, its lookin good tho. well worth a try, i know ive been waiting to taste some delicious cyanogenmod. and boy is it good. haha
thanks your job and hint
Wow! MilestoneXT720 also port CM6.
CM7 solve problems for the future hope to be.
Congratulations! And thanks your job and hint.

Mioze7Ae for the haptic feedback i found a menu in settings / cyanogen mod / input settings which can let you set up the duration of the feedback.... You can make it as smooth as you want!!!
Someone test the apps to ext (or sd)???

First and foremost there is a huge amount of credit that goes to Cyanogen(mod) for getting us Android booting up on the Touchpad. There are some small tweaks made to it to give a speed boost.
For those having issues with wifi, please click HEREor HERE for information regarding the HP Touchpad connectivity issues. PLEASE DON"T COMMENT IN THREAD OVER ALREADY KNOWN ISSUES...
Please read this page before you decide to ask a questions in the thread. While we are all willing to help, please understand that it may have been asked many times before. READ HERE

Changelog 1/3/2012
* Fixed Browser install
* Fixed Terminal install
* Fixed HP Printer app
* Fixed Quickpic
* Added Sportscaster (cool tablet app)
* Added ICS Launcher
* Added weather widget
* Updated all apps in Market
* This is a system pull from my touchpad with everything working. If anything doesn't work please report so we can address them. This is slightly bloated but look at reverendkjr's YouTube video in post 2 for a how to uninstall.
If you are coming from vB2.9 deodex, you simply wipe cache and dalvik, flash and reboot.
If you are coming from Odex you have two options.
* Factory reset and wipe cache/dalvik, reboot recovery and flash rom. Preferred.
or
* Using root explorer app, goto system/app and delete the browser odex and terminal odex files then you can wipe cache/dalvik, reboot recovery, and flash ROM.
It's known that the system may reboot a couple times after you set it up. Let it settle in and the reboots should stop. It's still organizing the system some. If it continues, please report it.
This is smooth as butta.....
Changelog 1/1/2012
You must factory reset and wipe all for vB2.9. Too many edits to flash on top. Also, its best to reinstall apps one by one not use backup for optimal experience. The more you wipe, the better you will be. Reboot after you set up to activate the sq mods.
Changelog 12/25/2011
* This has bloat. either deal with it, or don't download...please don't ask anymore how to debloat. This has been covered many many times.
* For some, after you set up gmail, market app icon will apear, if not, reboot and should take care of it.
* Odex app (allows you to odex it yourself)
* Google Music built for the tablet
* ICS google search
* Syndicate ICS launcher (additional)
* DolphinHD Browser
* Wifi Buddy and wifi toggle widget
* Removed Stock Browser
* Remove Gallary3D replace with Quickpic
* Odexed now

Installation instructions:
1) Download the latest version either on your Touchpad or computer
2) If you already have CM7 or XRONified installed, place the above zip on the root directory of your Touchpad
3) Reboot in to recovery
4) Wipe cache AND dalvik cache (under advanced menu option)
5) Flash zip. (if you are coming from CM7 you MUST wipe factory reset/cache/dalvik first)
If you do not have Android on your Touchpad you will need to do this.
1) Make sure you have novacom drivers installed on your computer
2) Download the ROM of your choosing and rename to update-cm-xronified.zip
3) Boot your Touchpad in to webOS and mount the USB port
4) Create a folder called cminstall (do not capitalize0
5) Put moboot 0.3.5 inside cmintall folder (Download HERE)
6) put update-cwm-tenderloin-1012.zip inside cminstall folder
7) Place the renamed ROM inside cminstall folder
8) Download ACMEInstaller and ACMEUninstaller from HERE
9) unmount USB and reboot, hold volume up key and power button at the same time until it gets to bootloader mode (USB symbol)
10) go to where you have your novacom drivers and folder (usually c://program files (x86)/HP webOS/SDK/bin and open command window by holding yoru shift key and right click in that window, select open command window here option.
11) type the following at the command prompt
novacom boot mem:// < ACMEInstaller
It will install the latest ROM via acmeinstaller...
Please read and use this method before you PM me or flood the thread with how to install questions.

HAHA, thanks man...Yup, the same one.
Awesome. I'll definately flash this tomorrow. Thanks!

Flashed it, wifi is pwnt, and the animation screen is kind of cheesy. Flashing back to CM2.1.
Thanks for the try though.
Wi-fi problem still exists for me...
*edit* ...tried wi-fi with encryption; no go, and with out encryption...no go. Tried shortening the host name- no go. Tried all of the work-arounds posted and wi-fi still will not connect.

Found the issue. Uploading the fixed one now. Sorry about that gang.
Edit: I think the issues with this are the symlinking. After testing it again last night, it seems to have fixed the WiFi and super user issues.
As far as the bootanimation, replace it...lol. pretty easy fix.
Sod issue, really sounds like its an issue with your particular touchpad. Suggestion would be to go in to webOS and delete everything and restore it back to factory then move forward trying this again.
Bluetooth seems to be a hit and miss with the alpha version. One minute I connect, the next it won't read the computer or vice versa so hope to start nailing this down.
And reflex, this has been tested many times. A quick change to the updater script may have caused the WiFi issue. Its all good now.
Thanks for the quick feedback and looks to be good moving forward.

Looks ok, wouldn't mind using as an every day, of course until the next CM update, but wifi doesn't connect. Tried rebooting several times, but no go. Doesn't seem to be able to obtain my ip. Going back to CM alpha.
EDIT:
Wifi is working. I may have downloaded the old file right before it was replaced.
Thanks for this
Good to see you over here, too, Leo. I'm happy to see the TP is getting a little dev lovin', too.

Hi to all,
I know that our great developers are creating a CM7 rom for Motorola Flipout MB511, this rom is working now in a unstable state, my question is if this source can be used to develop a rom for Motorola Charm MB502 considering that both devices contain the same hardware.
Can anybody tell me if changing all references words "ruth" or "MB511" to "charm" or "MB502" on source code, is all I need to build a rom for Motorola Charm.
The rom source has been posted by phchshow and this is the link of the git source:
https://github.com/phchshow/android_device_motorola_ruth
Thanks a lot for any answer!
Now we know that phchshow rom, works for Motorola Charm (BASIL) MB502, We need someone who has a development evironment to build it directly for motorola Charm with the native drivers I mean RIL, AUDIO, etc to reduce bugs.
:good:
I don't know that the Charm even exists
But if it is exact the same Device, it should work on it.
I dont know much about compiling stuff, maybe you could PM the MB511 CM7 dev for information.

Yeah yeah, of course i saw it. But almost everything in this Forum is for MB511. However, if its the Same device (Like SEMC Arc "anzu" and Arc S "ayame") it COULD work. But First you need to get bootstrapped recovery to work on charm, you maybe could Flash the MB511 Rom. (At your own Risk, of course ^^)
Else, good luck at building it for charm.
Report to me if it worked, so i can add it to my How-To Thread
Sent from somewhere...
Well.. I took the risk :
I've been installed, the CM7 ruth rom, from the phchshow compiled V 0.6.2 on the Motorola Charm MB502 without make changes,...:fingers-crossed:... and works! :victory:
But, some bugs:
1. No Network Recognize: I can't call, sim is recognized but returns "No Network coverage".
2. Screen only shows in portrait mode and sensors doesn't function to adjust the display mode.
3. Keyboard not function properly, numbers and symbols not corresponding to the physical keyboard layout.
4. Android key board not function.
5 Audio files are no working.
:silly:
I wonder if this bugs are in MB511 or just in this model (MB502)?.

I cannot say something about 1., cuz i dont use a SIM card on my device anymore (Switched to Xperia Arc S "ayame")
2. CORRECTION: Screen is working fine on ruth (MB511), but it gets wrong orientation if you flip out the Keyboard!
3. Keyboard is usable on MB511, but it is qwerty, i have a qwertz one.
4. Working on MB511
5. Ringtones and Notification Tones are working, didn't test with Music
Maybe you need to port over some device drivers from charm to the ROM
Made some corrections in my last post, sorry ^^'
Latest screenshots from my Motorola Charm MB502 porting the CM7 v0.6.3 for Flipout:
Unfortunately still no working the following features:
- Audio Mp3 cant be played. (But can use winamp to hear all music)
- Voice on call when using normal mic input. (Must to use headset)
- Orientation only in portrait mode (Launcher can be set to landscape but all system layout will rotate to portrait mode)
- Video files not working (I think because the Mp3 error) so youtube can't reproduce videos.
- USB error when disconnect.
- Cannot move apps to SD (but can use link2sd)
I had used Holo locker, Holo launcher, and ICS theme from Theme Chooser Themes

2. Download the phchshow Ruth rom from this link: https://docs.google.com/file/d/0BxgqJrVwRKJqTTNYWVRDQVByNzA/edit?usp=sharing then put it on the root of the sdcard.
3. Download my fix file "osk386FixCharm.zip" and put it on the root of sdcard (from the attachment link below).
4. Open the FlipOutRecovery app and allow permissions, then click on "Install Recovery" button, and then click on "Reboot Recovery Mode" button. The system will reboot with clockworkmod menu.
5. Wipe data, cache, and advanced/dalvik cache
6. Select "install zip from sdcard" -- "choose zip from sdcard" -- select the ruth rom --- yes --- and wait until instalation finish.
7. Reboot then boot with recovery, clicking "vol -" Then Wipe data, cache, and advanced/dalvik cache.
8. Select "install zip from sdcard" -- "choose zip from sdcard" -- select the osk386fixCharm.zip --- yes --- and wait until instalation finish.
9. Reboot system and enjoy CM7.
NOTE: The osk386fixCharm.zip file fix some issues like connectivity, keyboard, audio and video. The problem of mute sound during call still persist, you must to use headset to make calls well. Portrait mode problem still persist. You install this at your own risk I´m not responsible for rooted devices. The rom is on unstable(acceptable) state yet.

Hi,
I flashed my phone with CM7 and was able to boot from it and while trying to apply the fix for motorola charm.
I bricked my phone now it shows up M logo and I was not able to get past this. I tried to do a sbf_flash even that is not working.
Any ideas on how to make my phone work.

Hi Calvin, actually orientation is already working with v0.6.4, but now is stuck in landscape mode, sensor not working for auto rotate UI, and now usb is more buggy, I'll try to fix this issues for MB502 this weekend.
If you want to test it just follow the steps above, but now with v0.6.4.zip and the same osk386fixcharm.zip.
I'm using this versión, I got my headphones everytime.

Hi everyone.
I know a bunch of you have been waiting for this. Somehow I came across this ROM download but not the original thread (please pm me if you find is, as proper credit should be granted). Keep in mind I am no dev, just an enthusiast user. I simply wanted to share this on XDA.
Anyway, here it is:
Unofficial CyanogenMod 14.1 for Oppo Find 5 by Wuxianlin
What works:
WiFi
GPS
Data
Bluetooth
NFC
Camera
Video camera
Pretty much everything else
What doesn't work:
Probably lots of minor CM 14.1 related bugs.
You tell me!
Download:
androidfilehost.com
Installation instructions for LVM:
[Warning]This installation type is not recommended for new or inexperienced users that dont know what they are doing. However, I do highly recommend using LVM for any Android version > 6.0 simply because apps require more storage due to the updated runtime.
Make sure your phone is charged above 50% or connect it to a power source.
Backup EVERYTHING to your PC, all phone storage will be formatted.
Download and install a modified LVM capable recovery by Wuxianlin with fastboot or any tool that you like (fastboot command: "fastboot flash recovery find5-twrp-recovery-2.8.6.0-en-lvm.img")
Both TWRP versions, 2.8.6.0 or 2.8.7.0, should work.
Download TWRP 2.8.6.0 LVM
Download TWRP 2.8.7.0 LVM F2S
Full wipe. Wipe Dalvik cache, system, data, internal storage, cache. (Do NOT wipe raw_data or raw_sd!)
From the TWRP main screen, go to: Advanced => LVM Partition => Click Merge Partition => Swipe to switch partition. (WARNING! This will completely wipe your phone's data partitions, there is no way back)
Reboot recovery
Installation instructions for ROM as LVM type installation:
Full wipe again. Wipe Dalvik cache, system, data, cache, Android secure.
Download latest gapps from http://opengapps.org.
Download latest cm-14.1-xxxxxxxx-UNOFFICIAL-find5.zip or similar from https://www.androidfilehost.com
Download cm-13.0-find5-lvm-patch.zip from here. This removes the "SD card corrupted" error message.
From the TWRP main screen, go to: Mount => Mount USB storage. (Or you can use TWRP sidelaod function to install the ROM)
Copy cm-14.1-xxxxxxxx-UNOFFICIAL-find5.zip , gapps, and lvm-patch to your phone.
Unmount
Install ROM, gapps and patch. In the mentioned order.
Reboot
Enjoy CM 14.1 on you Oppo Find 5!
Report your experiences/problems/tips etc. here
Installation instructions for regular installation:
NOTE: I haven't tested this, but it will probably work fine.
All steps from "Installation instructions for ROM as LVM type installation" but skip "cm-13.0-find5-lvm-patch.zip" download and installation.

Downloading. Thank you.
So, i flashed the rom. Been using this for a day already.
Difficulties I faced:
1. Losing signal oftenly and sim car lock-out's (propably something wrong with my phone, or maybe it is software thing. If anyone know how to fix this, please don't be shy )
2. Random reboots.
3. Freezes when taking photos using instagram.
I'm not using LVM either.
Thanks for linking to this ROM !
My Find5 has been on jejecule's crDroid (Android 6.0.1) with LVM enabled sofar.
I was not expecting an Android 7 build anymore since few developers/builders use this phone.
So I tried a dirty flash from crDroid to this ROM (no harm trying, can always do a clean flash later) and lo-and-behold that worked out fine !
I have just been testing to see what works, I found no show-stoppers yet.
Thanks !
Hotspot Portable Error
I Turn On but Problem...no connect in PC and all device
please fix
Great rom
I have ,no problems at all!
Build from 17-12 dramatically improved stability for me. No more random reboots since then. I'm not experiencing any major issues myself using LVM. Can confirm hotspot doesn't work, not an issue for me though. New daily ROM
Verstuurd vanaf mijn Find 5 met Tapatalk
i've installed latest cm 14.1 on my oppo find 5 and everything is working really fine except the microphone.
mic only works in telephone app so that phone calls are possible but it doesn't work in any
other app like voice record, google search, chrome, ...
i've already tested different language settings and permission settings but without success...
...any ideas?
Thnks for ROM, I install 17.12 rom with LVM and I want ro report some problems:
1. Microphone does not work in apps, only in phone
2. File manager can't modify files in root (hosts for example). I switch on root acess for apps in developer options and in FileManager settiongs. May be I need to do somthing else?
3. Live display (switching color temperature and manual adjusting of colors) does not work.
4. USB tethering and portable hotspot does not work too.

Looks like Wuxianlin has released a new build ('lineage-14.1-20161230-UNOFFICIAL-find5.zip'). :good:
Anyone tried this yet to confirm if the problems Andre has noted have been resolved? (Hopefully it's not simply a CM to Linage rebrand release.)

Dear members,
I am using the January 26 2017 (1250) build and experience 'random' reboots. Mostly when I use the camera. To get Nougat running again most of the times I have to start TWRP en choose reboot system. I really hope this gets fixed.

So guys, i get my Find 5 back to life. Which rom do you prefer this or [Nougat 7.1.2 Alpha] [LVM] AOKP Unofficial - 22nd May, 2017 - LVM. With one of them I had the last time problems, but do not know with what ...

TODO:
See https://wiki.postmarketos.org/wiki/Samsung_Galaxy_Tab_2_10.1_(3G_and_Wifi)_(samsung-espresso10) for unified.
See https://wiki.postmarketos.org/wiki/Samsung_Galaxy_Tab_2_7.0"_(samsung-espresso3g) for espresso3g/espressowifi 7" inch only.
10 inch uses a different display panel. Work is being done to unify all the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 and 10.1 devices into the mainline kernel, but we need testers.

Boot from sdcard
There is a way to run PostmarketOS on a Micro SD Card (an easy but a little bit dirty way):
What you have to do:
Download my XFCE 2.0 img file HERE and burn the img to the Micro SD Card (using an image USB writer program). You can also instead write your own image to the Micro SD Card using pmbootstrap: pmbootstrap install --sdcard=/path/to/sdcard
Download the FAKE pmOS zip HERE. It's a sample zip file to avoid errors of the initial script installer. Then, push it to the tablet using `adb push` and then flash it.
Your device must have TWRP recovery installed. So, go to TWRP recovery now.
WIPE /system partition (where sample postmarketOS is installed).
Insert your Micro SD Card to your tablet.
Reboot and enjoy!

XFCE is one of the Desktop Environments that you can choose on PostmarketOS installation. In this device, it is the most stable for me.
Edit: Like you said, maybe if I have time, could install a theme for XFCE to modernify it.

You can always revert to Android at anytime with TWRP. I'll post later how to do it.

They have anbox packaged, but i think won't work. Mind that it's using a 3.x.x kernel (and at the moment of writing, kernel.org will hit 5.10 soon)

I'm trying to fix at least the WiFi issue, because you can only connect with nmcli.
The hard work now is to port the kernel into mainline sources on kernel.org (that can be really long), so then I don't have to carry an entire fork for just this device.
Because the OMAP chip is supported, maybe it can be a little bit easier.
https://wiki.postmarketos.org/wiki/Texas_Instruments_OMAP_4_(OMAP44xx)
https://wiki.postmarketos.org/wiki/Mainlining
I only distribute the XFCE image, but I'm also trying to fix some TODO issues (most important ones, it's not worth to spend a lot of time on an outdated 3.x.x kernel) and making a prettier desktop environment.
So... of course is not the end. In fact, there's so much work to do

Wow still working on an 8 year old device I'm amazed!! Thanks a lot
Also im using it on espresso3g (if that helps u fix bugs)
I am more than happy to test this (cant tell battery info my battery is old and dosent work properly) but other features and issues i will try and tell you!
I would also love to help develop it but I have no clue on how the code for a custom OS works and i guess it requires Linux and a beefy computer
All the best and thanks!
