Mogul on Verizon

So, I have been searching on here for a couple of days, but I am not really finding a post relative to what I am looking for. I just bought a Mogul on ebay. I am planning on using it with my current Verizon account. What I am wondering is what do I need to do before I try to activate it on my plan. Do I need to flash the xv6800 rom on it or would I be fine with the Sprint rom until I put something different on there. Just point me to a thread that I missed if I missed one. I have been hacking on my Verizon RAZR for over a year and a half and I just decided I need something better. All help will be greatly appreciated.
Elizle
go to the titan upgrade forum for stock verizon rom, everything you need is there!
thank you.
no problem, glad to help!
Not sure if Verizon is open to allowing all CDMA devices on their network yet, Call CS and see if they will accept the esn of the mogul, as it is a sprint branded phone.
I would do that before I flashed anything or even modded anything. You could always sell it and buy an xv6800 if they will not accept the esn.
I have a drawer full of modded V710's, E815's, Hollywoods and Razr's at home. Hacking on those was fun, but these HTC devices are much more rewarding.

the g1 was released on oct 22, 2008....so you have 9 days atleast to get it fixed
call them and tell them its broken. they will fix it. however, after 1 year, the warranty expires

Htc evo 4g boost mobile owners

Question for htc evo owners with boost mobile here. How is it, are there any problems? Someone is selling a htc evo boost ready for 450 would that be a good deal. Thanks.
Well I believe that cricket's 55 android plan is the best out there . I paid only 270 form my evo and i flashed it for free. All the tools and know how is free and available on line. I would never spen 450 on phone.
I live in NY I don't think there is cricket here i also heard its hard getting your evo to boost so buying it boost ready would be the easy way.
i would find one with a bad esn for 200-250 and figure out how to flash it yourself.
So can you hook a brother up with instructions to flash an evo to boost?

I do not believe it needs a "Flashing"
What it needs is an ESN change. You need to change the ESN to one that Boost will accept. Boost will not accept an EVO ID. You also will probably need a donor phone to get an ESN off of to be rather more legal.
The process for changing an android IMEI is not difficult, as I understand it.
Here is a question, do you have boost now?
when it is flashed to another carrier like that...
1. it is stolen
2. it is lost
3. sprint will not support it.
once you get it... there is NO warranty!
so.. I would never pay that much for it.
push it down to $250 or under!
you can do the flashing to other carriers yourself.
or
find a shop that is a boost/cricket/(what ever carrier).. they will do it for free.. because they want your business!!!
good luck.

of course.. if you purchased it from sprint.... it aint stolen.
I was talking about phones that are for sale that have been flashed to other carriers.
you can sell it for more .. when advertised with sprint.
can buy it cheaper when flashed for other carriers..
2 + 2 = phone was lost or stolen.
let us know.. how the service is on the EVO.. i am sure others would like to know. Many are looking to jump.

ok.. sure..
if the phone ... is a good ESN.. not stolen.. or found EVO.
why not sell it for more as a Sprint ready phone???
EVO's on other carriers .. listed on craigslist .. go for half of what they are on sprint.
if i wanted to sell my EVO. that I purchased from sprint.. and have the reciept. I can get $350 or more... why would I want to sell it for $200 or less?
if Sprint marks the ESN on that phone as a stolen / lost device. I dont think HTC will fix it and then send it back to you. They might even keep the phone for refurbished inventory. This I am not sure of... but I would think it a long shot! Manufactures love any excuse to not provide warranty!
anybody got a guide to how to put an evo on boost? i got a guy that may want my evo next month but he wants it on boost.

Hi guys, I have my evo on Boostmobile. I got the evo from a friend, he sold it to me for 300 brand new never used before. and since I didnt know how to flash it or change the esn I had to pay 60 bucks in a store to get it connect it on boost.

So if something is cheaper it is stolen? So whenever the grocery store has a sale, they just got a shipment of stolen food?
I don't see flashed phones as cheaper. Can you show me that?

Lets just assume that is true. (I don't think it is.)
1) no 4g, so slower data.
2) bad ESN. Someone cannot keep up the payments and has to sell the phone to pay bills.

that is just plain silly analogy...
Something that is not right/stolen/broken/hot has to be discounted!!!

Good ESN:

http://dallas.craigslist.org/dal/mob/2175138918.html
ESN issues: (billing issues... sure.. does sound better than stolen; do you think anyone will say it was stolen???) but here are examples. I bet you these sellers, are willing to deal.. drop the price to $150 -$175.

http://dallas.craigslist.org/dal/mob/2175899036.html
on the htc fixing "bad ESN" phones... like I said.. I just dont know.. never tried. But I would not bet $200 on it.
This is entirely OFF TOPIC
Your trying to prove a prejudice.
I already said that The ESN's are bad so you cannot get 4g. big discount in a 4g area.
It is just as reasonable that people in economic hardship are looking to sell things cheaper and faster. They are in a weaker position.
Selling a stolen phone on craigslist is asking to get busted.
On Topic...
Did the guide work for you OP
flashing evo to boost
does anyone know how to flash an evo to boost? i would really apreciated if anyone can guide me or teach me how to do this. please, please!

[Q] A Quick Question

Im not sure where to find the answer to this.
I work in a Verizon Wireless store and a young kid came in and asked me a few questions about his new Droid X. After answering them he says thanks and hands me a perfectly good Mytouch 4G and asks me if he can donate it. I do the right thing and tell him that it's worth some good money and he should put it on Ebay. He says he doesn't know how to do all that Ebay stuff, and that if i do, I can have the phone. I have tried looking up the IMEI on the stolen list and it says that it is not reported stolen. If I sell it on Ebay, and it turns out to be stolen, How can they find out, and what can I do to prevent this from blowing up in my face? any help would be greatly appreciated.
Call T-Mobile tell them a friend gave you a mytouch 4g and you are interested in activating it but do not know if it tied to somebodies account or possibly stolen. I have done it before. I also work for verizon. I have received an evo, nexus one, x10, and a few arias.
Sent from my X10i TripNMiUI using XDA Premium App
Sounds like a good plan, I'll try that in the AM. Thanks
Lol can't believe that, if I were a kid I'd craigslist it I know i was always starved for cash when I was not just givin' away $400 phones...kids these days

Move Sprint S5 to Ting, Boostmobile...Sprint MNVO...

Hi all!
Let me say this right now...when it comes to Cell phones I am the capital "N" in Noob!
Here is what I'm trying to do:
I just bought a brand new S5 from Best Buy. Paid $800 for the Sprint S5 because we use Ting and that is a Sprint MNVO...we saw S5s' on their site and assumed we could BYOD over like we did with our 3 previous phones. We paid what we did and used Best Buy so we could use our credit card and absorb the painfully expensive hit over a bunch of months. Anyway, I digress....apparently there is a contract that Ting cannot BYOD device if said device is newer than a year....so....what do I need to do to take this brand new Sprint S5 and get it on to Ting? (I'll even take getting it on to Boostmobile at this point)
What do I need to unlock or root or flash...or whatever to get this fantastic new phone on either Ting or Boostmobile? IS there anything I can do? Can someone help?? My wife (her phone) is extremely unhappy and she loves the copper gold color we got so taking it back is, hopefully, not an option. Let me know...I would greatly appreciate it...thanks!!!! PS...I do have the MLS code...if that helps.

All of Sprints MNVO's have this policy/agreement with Sprint. Short of changing the MEID which is not only illegal, but apparently renders the phone unable to get a signal, theres really no options i know of at the moment other than waiting out the year or selling the device and possibly taking a hit on the price. Too bad you cant use it on a GSM network, but thats not a option currently either. I seem to remember the wait being 2 years a few years back, thankfully its only 12 months now.
I wish you luck, but i fear there may be little or nothing you can do short of selling or waiting out the year
