Default calendar

When I add an appointment to my calendar it adds it to My Calendar as default. Does anyone know how to default it to a google calendar like, other Android phones?

I am also having this problem. I would like to set the default calendar to be my Exchange calendar, so I don't have to remember to switch it every time I create an appointment.

did anyone ever come back with an answer on this? I would love to have a way to set google as my default calendar for syncing purposes...

I need this too, I just simply need the real android calander app back becuase I use the widgit from it to keep me alert of what I have to do when.
This stupid thing has this weird clock calender widget that takes a whole page and tells you nothing

I've looked everywhere I can, but I just can't find where to set a default calendar for new appointments. I can't believe they left such a simple and needed setting out.

I agree, this is very annoying. Hope this gets fixed either by a new ROM or an update.

Download another calendar application such as android agenda widget. They give you options to save.

Thank god I'm not going crazy by myself with this - been looking for three days for a way to do this, thinking "it's an Android phone - surely you can set it to use your Google calendar as default!" But apparently I've been once again bitten by Samsung's crew of retarded engineers...

Yeah, this drives me up the wall, too. It's a shame, because I really love this calendar app.
Hopefully, they fix it. And if they never do, I'll just be sad.

Fyi, I gave instructions on how to do this in the sticky last night. I did it and it's FANTASTIC!
Download cyanogen 5.0.7 stable. I'll try and upload the files tonight if people need help.

I tried using the stock 2.1 app and it has that weird box on the top so I tried to push the touchwiz cal back but I have permission issues. Good thing I did a nandroid backup before I messed with it. I have resigned to just hitting new instead of long pressing in the calendar to add events and changing the default reminder to 15 min. Those 2 things are standard options that should be in any calendar made for android.

Times on calendar hours off

The dates from facebook that go into my calender are showing up in my calender a few hours off. Ive tried other calendars, and it doesnt seem to help. Right now im using Pure Calender. An event on facebook that starts at 4pm is showing up on my device as 9am. Anyone know whats going on?

Look for time zone settings. I know when I had my Mac sync with my gmail calendar it would sometimes wrongly adjust the time zone.

Calendar not displaying "all day" events?

I have a stock Evo and I'm not getting the "all day" events on a calendar that is shared with me (google) ? I've double checked all my settings and everything seems to be square. I've hidden and reenabled the calendars trying to force the since. Anyone else seeing this issue? My Facebook linked calendar with birthdays appears fine, but I have 5 shared calendars with mixed results. Really frustrating. It just started end of last week. Thought others might see this too no matter what ROM you use.

Calendar issues-aria

Hey all,
I searched around here and didn't find anything. But is anyone else having issues with the calendar widget? I can't get any of the events to show even by setting visible and sync. I'm using cm6.1.1

Which calendar are you syncing with? Google or something else? CM does not work with HTC sync so you will need something else to sync to Outlook. In the 30 minutes I had CM on my Aria last week I could not get it to log into my Google account either.

To get it to sync with google you have to flash the separate gapps. And yes i do have that installed with all the correct settings for sync. It apparently only shows the next one event(Which i wasn't used to coming from sense lol) That's why i was asking if there is anything comparable.
Other than that the cm mods are great!

Anyone have problems with mail syncing?
It seems to have stopped working and only syncs when I go in the app.

surely I am not the only person with this problem...

yes i have same thing...i disabled calender and book sync and toggled auto sync...then presto mine was fixed...still not sure why.

I don't have book and changing calendar has not made a difference. Also noticed that it happens on TI backup now. Not sure if it is related

I have this with my school e-mail since they installed exchange server 2010. To fix it (temporarily), you have to clear all the categories on all the events in your calendar (via outlook, thunderbird or web-based) and then re-apply them.
Note: it is temporary because every so many weeks, the issue reappears.

Yep. Same here. Noticed it a few weeks ago and thought it was just me. Had a major clearout on the phone (new SD card, hard reset, etc. etc.) and it's still a problem.
So it's standard HTC ROM (2.3.3) and I'm syncing with MS Exchange. As the OP says, there is no sync unless I open the app, irrespective of changes made to the scheduling. For what it's worth it's currently set to sync every 10 mins Mon-Fri 9.00 until 18.00 and then every hour off-peak.
