CM7.2.0 - FXP050 Feedback - Xperia Play General

Hey guys,
first of all thank you for the update. I installed it asap and I found some problems ...
- Vibration still doesn't work?
- Touchpads don't work (well it's not that important to me )
- after reboot the whole phone LAGGED as hell (after 2nd reboot it seemed to be fixed, I will test it)
- Torch crashed after 5 sec (maybe due to these massive lags)
I will return to stock again when I got the massive lags again. Very sad. I used to be a big fan of CM, but it's very sad that core features of the stock can't be migrated to the mod...
Nevermind: Keep up your work!
Best regards
Xalthur

Feedback on CDMA
Nothing changed.
MMS doesent work.
Everything else does
Sent from my R800x

Just a little update from me: After the second reboot the mod worked like a charm! Even vibration works fine now. Only touchpads doesn't seem to work, but as I allready mentioned they are not that important to me.
But another I noticed: Where did all the live wallpapers go? Even when I download some from the market, I just can't use them as a background. Can you help me?
Keep up your good work. Thanks!
Best regards

Great, I just installed Xplode's R3. But i want to try it too.
egzthunder1 can i test it too?
i better get my BA fix up ASAP, the hardware buttons are not so responsive, it seems I am going to be busy flashing
Well,
Day 1 after flashing sun_dream's latest. So far, very fast and stable. Here are the main points (in my opinion anyways)
*Titanium seems a lot more responsive than before (I still don't like it though )
*The removal of windows and menus animations make the device respond faster overall.
*Unbelievably responsive kinetic scrolling.
*The honeycomb is actually usable now!!
*Settings were put back into categories (Personal, System, Communications).
*Battery life seems good, no major drainage.
*"OK and X" bug fixed and working fine!!
*Wifi nice and steady (still need to test PIE8 and Iris Browser).
*Transparent Top bar looks awfully nice! (too bad the programs replace it with the Black bar)
Things I did notice were as follows:
*The Wifi icon seems to be getting cut off from the bottom down. In other words, you can only see half of the icon.
*Power in the Power Settings doesn't show a percentage anymore.
I still need to do some further testing (e-mail setup, etc), but overall this rom is superb!
Will report back later.
Good Job Sun!!!!!
he sent me a beta too but got a big problem...my cradle ain't working anymore!

You can always use mtty and flash via SD.
hey Egz...I'd like to try that but I need my cradle so I need to go to a local phone store first thing tomorrow. I tried to fix the cradle myself but ended ruining it more so how is the 2117x build vs xplode's r3? 21169 x2 is so buggy so I flashed my BA back to wm6.1....

I havent' had a chance to test xplode's R3, but sun's is a very nice rom (so far anyways). I still have to test BT (headset and GPS).
One thing I did notice also, is that it seems that data transfer via AS is a lot faster than in previous builds... I guess M$ finally did something right
You can read the rest of my review in my previoius post. Good luck with your craddle situation
A little further testing...
*I purposely soft reset the device and it took approximately 1 minute to wake up completely and loading PointUI Home 2. So, it has a very fast wake up time!!
*I set up my g-mail account with no problem.
*I don't use SMS, so I cannot test that.
*Lock application seems a bit faster and more responsive than in older builds.
*PIE is a bit faster, but I still have other browsers that I like to use. I will test YouTube later (with both PIE and Iris).
Left to do...
*Test BT connection with headset, and GPS (Pharos BT receiver).
*Test IR/BT data transfer... (I have to find another BT and another IR enabled device to do this)
*Must finish going through the settings to ensure that they all work.
Will do more later...
ok seems like 2117x is a lot stable vs the older wm6.5 builds..waiting for your BT test result...

BT = Bluetooth?
if so, it's always a trouble-maker
i found strange issue with lockscreen, when you have locked your device and pressed power (entered standby) and recieve a call the answer lockscreen part does not show upon device resume, this bug does not happen when device is locked and not on standby - you may try the scenario yourself, i think that this bug is present in 21169 too (no matter sun or my roms)
tested various rom configurations, rebuilded about 20 times this rom, but this nasty bug stays
as of now I am very contented with wm6.1 v3.02 by sun_dream. I need to use my BA so I think I will just wait for a more stable build of wm6.5
Well, I tested (tried to pair really), my GPS receiver, but no dice... For some reason, the device either looses connection or just flat out does not recognize the pass-code. The BT headset, on the other hand hasn't given me too much trouble. It paired up nicely...
@xplode,
I'll give it a shot, but I don't normally use my BA as a phone (unless I am traveling)... which I will do on Monday, so I'll let you know then.
Still stable and no SR so far, except for one time when I was using wifi and my device went into power saving mode (turned off the screen) and afterwards, it would only have a black screen... had to SR there. I tried to recreate the situation on a few occasions with no luck... I guess it was a one time thing.
More reports to come..
well i had the same thing today, blackscreen - only fixed with hard reset
soft reset gets me back to the black screen
This appears to be a secret and private talks thread
Why are others kept in dark about the build 2117x? Once its disclosed that such a build exists, every one gets interested in trying it. If there is a reason for keeping it hidden from others for the time being, better use private messages. Just my two cents.
if we just talk about it, Microhell can't do something about it... now if we link to it here DIRECTLY, then xda-developers is in Trouble.

@April 1,
The reason is rather simple. If you release something that has bugs and things (something you would consider a pre-release), you will have an enormous amount of people asking the same questions over and over and over and over.... and over again (kinda like it is right now but worse).
It is a lot easier to develop something when the beta testers are finding all the minor things and not hitting themselves on the face with major bugs that might require hard resets and stuff.
We are not trying to keep anyone in the dark (that is why we are reviewing this build), but sun_dream will release it when he deems it is ready for public use. So far, he has not made mistakes (at least not many) in his ability to judge when a rom is suitable for release.
Just be patient... this should be out soon

uk vodafone 32b perfect hero guide (so far)

like everyone else with vodafone magics i am having all the problems with either notifications not working or delayed waking from standby but i finally have all of this working and thought i would share my experience with you.
you will need three files-
maxisma 1.7 hero romvery fast and stable but notifications broken (requires registration to download.
signed media files
and also bfs230
i take no credit at all for any of these files all made by people way more clever than me
first install maxismas 1.7 then back in recovery mode install the signed media.zip, this fixes the notifications but breaks the wake from sleep for some reason, so then you must reinstall the bfs230 and then you should have a fast
noisy hero i have been running it for 2 days now and no problems whatsoever, hope this helps some people as i really wanted to give something back to this great community, keep up the good work everyone.
Excellent, I'm looking for a decent Hero build. The main issues I have been getting is the not returning from standby issue and the ringtone taking ages to play. I can live with the ringtone one though.
Will report back. Flashing now.
good luck rob, if anyone uses this guide with there vodafone magic please could you let us know if it works, thanks
(mine is still running great, only time i have seen a loading screen is after browsing the web and it was only for a couplke of seconds ,)

Flashed but my most important app FotMob wouldn't work as it got stuck on the "fetching data" screen. I could see that data was being fetched but it just sat there. A quick Nandroid restore and it works fine on Donut. Also couldn't get audio working between my BT gateway and phone so it had to go.
I also got a couple of FC's when starting PowerManagerPro.

Gingerbread (CM7 RC4) vs Modern Combat (gameloft)?

Hi everybody,
i'm running Cyanogenmod 7 RC 4 (Radio Radio_12.28g.60.140f_26.05.05.27_M3) on my DHD - everything fine, very fast! But Modern Combat 2 just doesnt work. When i started it first on RC3 the game started for a few seconds, since then all i got was following FC:
process com.gameloft.android.GAND.GloftBPHP.ML has stopped unexpectedly
I tried everything i found on google: several redownloads, Uncheck compatibility mode in spare parts, fixed permissions and wiped my cache, several restarts. Everything without the slightest success.
Has anybody a solution to this? I'd think it is no general Gingerbread issue, since some people reported it working on CM7 RC2.
Thank you very much in advance
Nasobem
Hi Mate,
I would try reporting it to the Dev's on their official site.....
Hi,
thank you for the tip, i definetly should do this as there is no solution, i think.
But i'm thinking about going back to my old froyo-rom anyway because of gps issues
greetings
Nasobem
I contacted customer-support of gameloft and they said that their games currently do not work on gingerbread.
Moreover, they couldnt even tell me if there'll ever be a gingerbread-update.
I'd like to try out the new cm7 - so i'm asking again if anybody here somehow got it working - maybe some kind of dirty workaround?
I can't believe that all the gingerbread-fans out there do not play gameloft-games.
greetings
Nasobem
I was under the impression that the current Gingerbread Cyanogen roms dont have proper GPU drivers yet. That's probably the reason for the crashes. Try a Sense based rom and you'll have no problem.

No, the libs were merged a while back and they are the same ones found in the 1.84 Sense update. 3D games work without any issues now! There is a CM6 ROM floating about the forum, it includes the dsp fix etc. Check it out!
Regards.
Thank you very much for your answers! So it seems its no cm7-issue.
I think i will try first the cm7 final and if it does not work cm6 - and wait for a modern combat update, maybe they fix it somehow.
greetings

I am running cm7 too but for me it worka perfect. The game starts normally and never gave me problems.

It's working on cm7? Yay! Thank you for chiming in, now i know i can definetly change to cm7, and if it doesnt work i can try to find a solution. ... I've been kinda depressed when gameloft told me it wouldn't work on gingerbread.
Maybe it was a RC4-issue.

I have this problem to...but open MC2...then go to home screen (botton house) and then notifications bar and click to MC2...and play game...Works for me!
Finally! That did it! It's working again. Thank you very very much, lewak.
Maybe gameloft should pay you, as their own customerservice obviously doesn't know what you know

ok... your download link works... but it only gets thru about 30% before it drops off
so i can't test it if i can't get it downloaded
it is just a test rom and i testing it for other people in China.you will download it soon when i fixed the sensors and the MP3 player, also the camera.
Nice work! I think I'm going to give up on being a ROM dev haha... nothing wants to work for me
Maybe I'll play around with ICS on it to keep me busy
I dropped in my sensors.sage.so into your ROM and the sensors worked great (I think.. rotation worked)
I used the libsensors that came in the jordan (Defy) device tree if that helps.. (had to change LOCAL_MODULE from sensors.jordan to sensors.sage in Android.mk for it to build)
If you're OK with it, I can upload it to a more world-friendly site (probably MediaFire )
Hi!
Thanks WinSuk for take time to test and help, please dont give up at all with the testing process, so, not many of us may have enough knowledge to really help with this, and also many of us, we are sure and gratefull, that Laidaxin is kind doing it best according with the time that he kind may offer to develop, for all people that use the FlipSide, the CM7 version that for sure it the BIGGEST new that may happen to the FlipSide Forum in long long time...
So, Thanks to Laidaxin, WinSuk, ringfool and any other one that may join to help to make the first ROM for FlipSide a success and tested.
Best Regards to all and please keep the good work!

We should built it together for filpside, one man can not do it well for this job.the other man that i want to say thanks is the wanggjghost,he help me to do it well.
if you upload you file,i will soon to fixed it .
So... i finally got the 2nd init installer to work...
and i got cm7 installed...
my findings are... the accelerometer does not work... meaning the screen doesn't change orientation when you turn the phone...
and
the telephone dials out... or rings when called... however... when it attempts to connect... it reboots the phone...
and
the camera is still broken
and since i don't really know that much about it... i don't know how to fix it...
hopefully one of you guys that are better at this than me can come up with a fix...
i did get wifi to find my network... though i couldn't connect cuz i don't know the password (i use the push button method normally)
it looks so pretty... and runs so smooth...
if there is anything i can do to make your lives easier on this... just lemme know...
my phone... even though its my only one... is ready for testing...
i don't care about sbf flashes... i do them once in a while just cuz i am a glutton for punishment
ok, this seems fine by now... well I am not a dev so could not direct help, but try by post several threads in other forums in order to try to call other FlipSide users and may be Devs that may help to set this Rom to full.
Hope that lucky we may get some additional help to come.
Best regards and please keep the good work.
Well... I tried your new release...
And everything works... except the phone for me
I can't call out... nor can I receive phone calls...
When I try... it reboots the phone...
That is the only thing keeping this from being my everyday ROM

i was having the same problem as well, mine included the market place too since i installed gapps... i kept messing around with different settings and finally found a solution...
in the settings under wireless and networks go to mobile network settings and change the network preferences to "gsm only" for some reason this beta version doesnt like wcdma yet... which kinda sucks cause you can only get edge that way and no hspda or 3g.. but i was able to make phone calls and download apps after changing that setting..
on another note everything works AWESOME the only problem other than that that ive had is when i changed my ringtones from the default to a custom mp3 or something other than what it comes set at default it doesnt ring anymore when i receive texts or calls... but vibrate mode works just fine which doesnt bother me for now! I'm just so excited to finally see some development on such a neglected device.. i was started ti lose hope and was just gonna let the phone meet the brick wall... i always thought it was odd that nothing was going on with this phone when its more powerful than the original Motorola Droid which was my first android device and its seeing ICS ports... hmm.. ICS ports just something for you guys to chew on.. i will keep playing with stuff on this beta and let you guys know if i find any other bugs!!!!
KEEP UP THE AWESOME WORK!!!!!!

lmao no.. i've been doing the exact same thing... im OBSESSED
You guys aren't the only ones... The lack of dev support is honestly the only thing I dislike about the flipside, and it seems like we're well on the way to having a usable rom.
Lol!!!... :-D
Yep... You are not alone, same by me.... I evolve to really appreciate my Flip, since by now is long time that it is serving me faithfully.... really wish and deserve a much better rom for so reliable hardware.
Best regards!
To hell with it...

so...even though op says it's finished...it's not quite there yet, right? No 3g..? Hmmm....

Mad Catz Mojo hanging, crashing, freezing , lagging, frustrating.

I have a very frustrating Issue with my MOJO.
I bought it in February 2015. Recently i somehow broke the Controller. And damaged the HDMI output a little.
At this moment i saw grey-colored 1080p noise on my TV. I resetted the MOJO and then it worked fine. But after this, the Problems started. The Cursor begun to freeze. Sometimes it just freezed for a couple of seconds. Sometimes it just kept freezing the whole day. First it happened rare and only while i wanted to watch a Video. No matter what App i used. Also the bit of sound wich played when freeze just keeps looping while freeze. Like right before the bluescreen in WIN. Now the problems get bigger and bigger. Its freezing every time i use it. No matter what i do. Even if i do nothing it sometimes freezes. Absolutely no matter what app's running, the TV is on and so on.
Im frustrated.:crying:
Also the console overheats very fast. After 5 minutes doing nothing the Heatsink has already 50° C!!
Also no matter what governor. I tried everything but limiting isnt working. It just goes back to its ghostly default all time.:
Userspace
51 to 1887 MHZ
Qfc(?) scheduler
I removed every tuning app. Used CPU state recorders. Everything was normal.
Its just annoying and frustrating because i cant use my own console.
I think its the heat. Because when i cool it with a fan, it lasts longer. But still crashes.
Also at the same time the stock mcz wallpapers were gone and the android stock ones came.
I hope someone can help me.
I contacted the MCZ support of Course. No responding...
Sorry if i made a mistake. Im german.
This is my first post.
Thanks!
That must be the problem--your MOJO doesn't like Germans. Seriously, though, it sounds like you either caught a virus, or have some corrupted system file that's causing the MOJO to use all its resources to try to run it, and thus overheating. Either way, the cure is to reflash it, either with the latest stock firmware or one of the excellent custom ROMs by @Unjustified Dev.
Thanks, ill do so.
I've already found the stock rom here on xda.
But i wish to flash CM11 Because i dont really like the new layout of Lollipop and i only found CM12.1 here. Would be awesome if you can help me. :victory:
Thanks
So, i flashed the stock ROM and:
:crying:
Its still very unstable. Crashes mostly in YT and getting verry hot.
*sigh*
I hope we didnt ran out of ideas. Because i have no idea what could be the problem.. Hard Brick? I hope not
Also: Would CM or a custom ROM help?
Im not really a Lollipop lover. Actually i dont like it like ive told. But i could live with it, if it works fine then.
Fortunately, i can now freely set the CPU. But it doesnt help very much..
Im thinking of removing the hratsink, and mod it and mounting an big cpu heatsink with a fan. Would that be an suitable idea?
Thanks if someone replys.
